The view from the back deck is spectacular. Watching a working port with lobster boats coming and going is fascinating. We almost got tired of one colorful sunset after another!

The view!
The view of the harbor was lovely no matter the time of day. The location was a bit remote but so worth it. Access to the ferry to Monhegan was a pleasant bonus. The hot tub was great for relaxation every evening. Furnishings are a bit rustic but it fit the environment and made the experience lovely. Would stay again.

Beautiful Location
I am not want to leave negative reviews and I won’t start now, but I will just say that we loved the place and location but communication with this company and the cleanliness, or lack there of of the hot tub, assured me that I will not stay again with Vacasa

View was stunning. We really wish we could give this property 5 stars. We arrived to the dishwasher not working, the sunshade on the porch did not work, and there is black mold growing near the fan in the sunroom. There is a very obvious water problem in the sunroom. When we arrived at the house there was a very strong odor of mildew. We immediately opened the windows which helped.Vacasa was zero help to us.

Thank you for being our guest and taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad you loved our home's spectacular view, but we apologize for the issues that kept you from fully enjoying your stay. Our local manager assured us that a technician tried to assist with a replacement, but was unable to during your stay. We are sorry for the inconvenience this caused. Additionally, the sun shade was inspected and found to be working and we regret any issue you had with it. We're glad to report that the home was inspected and no black mold was found, but mildew was present and housekeeping has addressed it. We appreciate your feedback, as we view it as an opportunity to improve and hope to have the chance to better impress you on your next getaway.
The home is located in a great spot at Point Clyde. The home is comfortable and an easy walk to a small park and the commercial center of the community. The cleaning company did not clean the house very well as there was dust on appliances as well as pet hair on the floor. Overall a good experience staying at this small community as is made a perfect homebase for our daily excursions.

We loved our weeklong stay at Rocky Bay with family. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, and very clean. The view from the living room and master bedroom is spectacular. The kitchen had everything we could need, and the hosts left us some basics in the refrigerator as well as snack baskets in each bedroom. We enjoyed the dock, kayaking, games, and puzzles. The screened in porch is a perfect spot for reading or relaxing. The hosts were very helpful and a delight to work with. We enjoyed the area and nearby restaurants recommended by our hosts. We hope to go back soon.

Quintessential Maine
We hosted a catered lobster bake for the family of our daughter’s fiancée two days before the wedding. The guests are all from South Georgia and many had never been to Maine. The day was picture perfect - temperature around 70, not a cloud, and no wind. When the family members arrived they were blown away by the setting and the views. It was a perfect evening and we were able to give them a quintessential coastal Maine experience. As the sun set we could see the crescent moon on the horizon. We cherish memories of that evening!
This is an older cottage in a beautiful location. Port Clyde is a quaint fishing village with a nearby beach-Drift In Beach. Boat rides to Monhegan Island, kayak rental, and day trips to The Botanical Gardens and Camden Hills State park were highlights. The cottage was comfortable enough, though a small investment in a couple of new sofas and some kitchen utensils would be welcome. A picture window frames an amazing view of the water and boats-the view would be even better with a cleaning. That said, Vacasa was responsive to a call regarding a winnows that wouldn’t open. Overall, a very pleasant vacation spot.

Hi, Stacey. Thank you for providing us with this valuable feedback. We are so glad that you had a wonderful time at our beautiful home. We thank you for your feedback, as it helps us improve our guests' experiences. We look forward to welcoming you back for another fabulous getaway in the future.
We were really happy with the property and location. The area was quiet with great walking distance restaurants. The drift inn beach was only 3 minutes away. Great location if you are traveling with dogs since all restaurants are dog friendly. Plenty of areas to walk with them and the beach is dog friendly early in the morning.
We had to contact the host since the wifi password was not available when we got to the property and within 10 minutes they texted it to us.
The property is spacious, well equipped, and the beds were very comfortable. It could get a little bit loud in the morning if you are sleeping with the windows open since there is some type of commercial dock where fishing boats load and unload.
We will recommend this property and consider booking it again!

Five star experience with a beautiful water view
We had a perfect week at this wonderful house. If I could give it six stars for location, I would. It has a 180 degree water view - from the Port Clyde harbor on out to distant islands - with amazing sunsets. Plus a beautiful lawn and steps down to the water and a dock. Big windows allow you to look out over the water plus there`s a deck with a hot tub and a grill. Being able to walk into town for the boat to Monhegan, a group kayak trip, coffee or dinner waterside or to pick up something at the general store, make this a very easy, extremely pleasant place to completely relax. My two children, husband and I absolutely loved it and we all highly recommend it.

Beautiful idyllic location to escape to! From the views of the water, the stars at night, the gardens, to the inviting cozy house, this was one of our best VRBO stays. The home layout provided plenty of space for everyone, bedrooms were nice, kitchen and laundry amenities provided were perfect. Be prepared for Maine weather fluctuations including Fog coming and going. The walkway and dock provided great views as well and place to launch kayaks/ paddle boards. Home is near others but you had a lot of privacy still with the gardens and trees around property. Port Clyde is lovely, the ferry service to see sites and islands was convenient , and drive to and from highway 1 provided amazing views as well. Easy to get to Rockland and Camden for day trips or supplies. Highly recommend this property for a relaxing low key family get away. The home’s rustic vibe was just what we were hoping for!

Midcoast Maine Harborside Gem
This is a wonderful cottage up on the bluff overlooking Port Clyde Harbor with fantastic views - especially of the sunset! The house is bright, clean and comfortable and the deck at the front of the house overlooking the water is a fabulous place to sit and watch the boats go by. There`s a hot tub next to the deck for a relaxing soak with that wonderful view. There`s also a dock, which is perfect for tying up a boat or lauching kayaks. It`s a short walk into the village for ice cream, groceries, restaurants, kayak/paddle board rentals and fresh lobsters. It`s about a half mile walk to the Marshall Point Lighthouse and to Drift In Beach - great at low tide. You can catch the boat from Port Clyde to Monhegan Island and spend the day roaming the trails. Rockland, a great Maine seaside town with galleries, museums, dining, and ferries to the islands of North Haven and Vinylhaven is 30 minutes away. We will certainly return!

Hot tub not working!
We booked this lovely spot primarily for the outdoor hot tub. We were very disappointed when the hot tub never was balanced chemically before we got there nor during our entire stay after repetitive questioning to have someone come and look at it. We ran out of chlorine, and though I put chlorine in every day, the test strips never registered that there was any chlorine in the hot tub, that was extremely disappointing. In addition, the site claims that there is a woodburning stove. However, there was a note on it, that it was not to be used, so that is basically false advertising. Overall, we enjoyed the location the easy walk to the village and the beautiful sunsets, but with the issues that we had surrounding the hot tub and not being able to use the fireplace, I would not recommend this place.

Heluvaspot is aptly named. The rustic cottage fully met our expectations, with everything needed for a great vacation. This was our second visit to Maine, and the mid-coast location can't be beat. Port Clyde is a picturesque fishing village populated by friendly locals. It’s a perfect place for a quiet early morning walk or jog to the Marshall Point lighthouse, or enjoying a glorious sunset (while savoring a lobster purchased off the dock nearby or soaking in the hot tub). Birdwatchers can take in everything from goldfinches to laughing gulls to bald eagles from the deck.
An afternoon hiking the spectacular cliffs on nearby Monhegan was a highlight, as was a trip out to see the puffins. For beachgoers, Birch Point Beach State Park, in Owls Head, is worth the drive. Pack a lunch as there’s no concession stand, but the wide, sandy beach is a hidden gem with great scenery. Maybe stop first to spend an hour or two at the nearby Transportation Museum, which exceeded our expectations. For day trips, Boothbay Harbor and Camden are only an hour away; the views from Mt. Bettie are breathtaking.
My only caveat about the cottage is the howling we heard on a couple of moonlit nights coming from Hupper Island, which led us to believe the Roberts family are werewolves. But we nevertheless slept soundly, separated by the waters of the Herring Gut and cool sea breezes.

Wharf Was Unusable - As of Aug 3, 2024
We were very excited about our trip to Maine and this home that included wharf and beach access. Sadly, upon arrival, we discovered that neither was possible. The wharf was/is completely damaged and unusable. Literally floating in the water. Vacasa has been extremely difficult to work with and gave us a measly refund compared to the thousands of dollars we spent renting the home. I learned through the process that VRBO does not regulate Vacasa listings. It is up to Vacasa to do the right thing. That being said VRBO has tried to make it right but I am still dumbfounded that VRBO does not hold them accountable for any misleading listing. All that being said, we did really love the home. It is still like stepping back in time. Very cozy with almost everything you need. The deck needs replacing but is still functional. The awning was a very nice amenity, as well as the hot tub.
I wish they would have been honest about the wharf. But in hindsight they are a big company and I don't even think they know its unusable and dangerous. In the future I will make sure I do not book any property managed by Vacasa.

Meh
Cute house, cute location but cannot easily put kayaks in at the dock. You are right next to where the fishermen process their catch so one day the water was filled with dead fish and the smell was overwhelming.
The screen door needs repair.
The beds are great, but the pots pans, oven, etc needed a good scrub, a light fixture fell onto the kitchen sink. The water had a strong iron smell and the local manager said they would get an iron treatment system put in.
There is a bit of mold in the shower, some paint peeling on the walls. The awning is great but part of it is super moldy.
Its a cute older camp and Port Clyde is sweet.
I blame Vacasa and its poor mgmt. This is the second home I have rented from Vacasa from VRBO - which stands for vacation rental by OWNER!! Vacasa is NOT the owner.
Sure my comments during our stay will help the next renter- but there is never any compensation for the inconvenience while we were there.
We asked maybe 6 times for a late checkout as compensation but the request goes into a que with a new person each time - maddening.
My advice is NO VACASA! A machine of agents who really do not care. You wanted my review - here it is.
