We loved our time and truly enjoyed it. The house was very clean, the hosts were extremely helpful and communicative, and our pet enjoyed the lake. We are already planning for our next trip. Thank you, Jeff & Aimee.

From our first communication with Jeff, we felt like we were in good hands. He was incredibly kind, responsive, and generous with detailed recommendations that made our weekend even better. His enthusiasm for the area is contagious, and a couple of our favorite experiences came directly from his suggestions. The Toadstool Cottage is every bit as delightful as the photos. It's fresh, beautifully decorated, spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, including for my fur babes! It feels less like a rental and more like a place someone genuinely wants you to enjoy. We spent our days exploring Bridgton, hiking Jockey Cap, visiting local shops and markets, after lovely morning coffee on the deck. It was the peaceful weekend we were hoping for. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and are grateful to Jeff and Aimee for sharing such a special place.

I’ve been coming up to the White Mountains for years with my wife, family, and dogs and it’s always been the place we go to unplug and get outside. We’re big on staying active and enjoy hiking, mountain biking, skiing in the winter, and snowmobiling when the conditions are right.
When we’re not outdoors, we like to head into North Conway and Bridgton to wander shops, grab a bite, and enjoy the small-town mountain and lakeside atmospheres. Some of our favorite moments, though, are the simple ones when we're spending time by the water with our dogs and just slowing things down.
What keeps bringing us back is how easy it is to fully step away from everyday life without having to travel far. It feels like a real escape, but still close enough for a quick weekend or spontaneous trip.
Hosting here is a way to share a place that’s means a lot to us and give others the chance to enjoy the same mix of outdoor adventure, downtime, and time with family (dogs included) that we’ve always valued.

Why they chose this property

Our neighborhood fit exactly what we were looking for. It’s the right size for our family—comfortable, simple, and a place to rest, refuel, and recharge between all the time we spend exploring the area.
The location is ideal. It’s close to everything we want to do in the White Mountains and Maine Lakes region, but far enough away that you’re not in the middle of the crowds. You can head out for hiking, skiing, mountain biking, or a day in North Conway or Bridgton, and still come back to a quiet place that feels like a reset.
One of the biggest draws for us was the private beach access on Lovewell Pond. That, more than anything, is what makes this area special. Being able to step outside and be by the water or just spend time outdoors is the real amenity here.
The neighborhood itself is small and cozy. The homes are close together, but it’s quiet, relaxed, and it never feels crowded. It strikes a nice balance with enough energy to feel like a community, but peaceful enough that you can actually slow down.
At the end of the day, we chose it because it encourages you to get outside, spend time together, and enjoy the kind of simple downtime that’s hard to find elsewhere.

What makes this property unique

After years of traveling to this area, we decided to create our own home away from home. The space is simple, clean, and cozy. A comfortable place that still feels like a real home when you walk in.
One of the things we paid close attention to was the comfort of the beds. After long days of hiking, skiing, or exploring, having a truly comfortable place to sleep makes a big difference.
Having laundry available is another practical feature we appreciate, especially after a few days of adventure and time outside.
The location allows access to great restaurants, but the full kitchen and outdoor grill provides the flexibility to prepare meals at home. It’s easy to cook or throw something on the grill, make a relaxed meal, and enjoy the evening without much effort.
