Need new sheets, sheets were dirty and pilled. We weren't told about the elevator till our number code was sent. We could have used it, my husband has trouble walking due to hip replacement.

Susan, thank you for your honest review. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience to our guests and your review helps us greatly make adjustments if they are needs. We have thoroughly checked all our bedding and are ordering new ones, but have found neither dirt nor stains on them. They are thoroughly cared for, inspected, washed and disinfected after each stay. I’d be interested to learn more about your findings. I did some research. The elevator was never supposed to come up in the search filter, but apparently does. I rectified that and apologize for that inconvenience. Elevators are sensitive and therefore turn into a liability when kids are in a travel group, and for that reason we have excluded ours from the rental. Thank you again.

Excellent location for a quiet getaway

We stayed at this property for ten days at the end of March as a getaway from northern Winter. Daughter and family from Duluth, MN, and the two of us retired snowbirds from northern Wisconsin. The location in Marathon Key is perfect--halfway between Key Largo & Key West--great for day trips. I brought my e-bike and liked the immediate access to the great biking trails along Hwy 1. Lots of miles were logged those ten days. Upon arrival, the property was easily accessible (no issues with the key codes), very clean, and well stocked. There are steps for the three levels and--admittedly--the stairwells are narrow and steep which made carrying luggage and groceries challenging. There were two master bedrooms, one on the second level and the other on the third. The living area and kitchen was spacious enough for our five peeps. Each level had its own deck with furniture. Two hot tubs--one on ground level and the other on the flat roof--got lots of use. I do some amateur astrophotography and appreciated the flat roof that allowed me to use my telescope for stargazing with little light pollution. My wife really liked the handy vanity in the 3d level bedroom but some better lighting for putting on makeup would be appreciated. Overall, it was a great place for us. Kirsten was super responsive to our needs and made the stay extra nice. We would definitely recommend this property for visiting the Keys.

Seemed nice when we searched and booked, BUT...

Let me start by saying this was definitely not a horrible place--the unit, linens, bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. The property manager was responsive, though I was not impressed with some of the responses. Due to VRBO's 1500 character limit on my review, I can only highlight below the many unexpected inconveniences that were not evident in the listing description. Let's start with the unit layout--3 bedrooms and 3 baths. 8 person max occupancy - we had a mere 6, yet we were quite crowded in the tiny living room and kitchen. 2 bedrooms consumed the 2nd floor, leaving the 3rd bedroom AND the kitchen AND the living room/dining room for the 3rd floor, therefore all groceries, beverages and other necessities for common use have to be taken up 2 floors from the carport. THERE IS AN ELEVATOR, BUT GUESTS AREN'T ALLOWED TO USE IT (?!?!?) THUS HAVING TO HAUL EVERYTHING UP (AND EVEN WORSE, BACK DOWN AT THE END OF THE TRIP) 2 FLOORS OF TWISTY NARROW STAIRS! Taking even a moderate-sized cooler or box down the stairs is a test of faith and a serious accident waiting to happen since the stairs are so narrow and you can't see the steps in front of you. 2 hot tubs--one had stinky green water and the other was inoperable. Trash must be hauled 150 yards down to the community entrance--you will be charged a fee if you don't do it. The complex has boat docks, but this unit is forbidden to use them. The refrigerator icemaker was severely under-sized for 6 people. The community pool is tiny.

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and taking the time to help us improve our rental to the fullest. Our condo (also called the fortress) is built high (3 stories) to avoid storm flooding and take advantage of the beautiful Gulf AND Atlantic ocean views from the upper level. The listing provides photos of all rooms as well as square footage to make sure that our potential guests can make an informed decision before renting our condo. Unfortunately, the hot tub broke during your stay, and repair parts were ordered the next day. Our condo does not own a boat slip nor was one included in the listing. The elevator is not included in our listing for safety and logistical reasons, which I will happily address with any potential guests interested in adding the elevator to their reservation. The freezer is a good size and holds about 3 bags of ice. Thank you again for your feedback!

We recently stayed at this property with our family of six. Overall, the home had plenty of space and the views were definitely a highlight—beautiful Gulf views from every deck level, especially at sunset. The house was generally clean, but there were a few areas that could use more attention. For example, between the couch cushions we found crumbs and crayons, and the hot tubs were not clean and had sand in them. One of the hot tubs was also not working. While the owner did notify us about the broken hot tub about a month prior to our stay, it was just after the full refund deadline. They did mention that they would have offered a full refund if we had asked at that time, and also offered to refund the last few days if we chose to leave during our stay. There were a few maintenance issues as well—one hammock chair was ripped, and one of the deck lounge chairs was torn and falling apart. Additionally, the listing mentioned four garbage cans but there were only two, and we ran into some inconvenience with limited garbage bags, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies. We were also told that beach chairs were not included.Communication was somewhat mixed. While the owners did respond, they didn’t seem very receptive to feedback when concerns were brought up.Overall, the stay was decent and the space worked well for our family, but compared to neighboring rental units, this property appeared to be less updated and not as well maintained, particularly in the outdoor areas.
