Surrounded by nature and located just minutes from the Ohio River, this inviting property offers the perfect blend of comfort and outdoor adventure. This property is just minutes away from some of the Shawnee National Forest's most breathtaking attractions such as the famous Iron Furnace, Garden of the Gods, Rim Rock Trails and Pounds Hollow Lake. Visit the historic Cave in Rock where the movie "How the west was won" was filmed and dine at Kaylor's Restaurant at the top of the bluff or at the floating "Fish Dock" in Elizabethtown. Ride the Cave-in-Rock ferry to the Amish community near Marion, KY, visit the Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum in Marion KY that houses beautiful fluorspar specimens from our area.

The cabin is lovely. The hosts had all the essentials plus all the little extra things that show they have pride in their property. The cabin is centrally located between several “must-sees” in the Shawnee National Forest. Just of note there are no grocery stores within about 30 minutes of the cabin. I normally don’t pack groceries for vacation and just have them delivered so just know if you normally do that also, it’s not an option. There are several convenience stores close by and a DG however.

Thank you for staying with us and for your kind words. We do have a small grocery store (they have fresh meat; deli; produce and most of the things bigger grocery stores have) in the heart of Rosiclare named Bob's food mart for future references if ever in the area. I'm sorry if that wasn't in the folder we left, we will make note to put it in there. We hope you will come back and stay with us!

Cabin was very clean. There was a basket of treats welcoming us when we entered the cabin, very thoughtful by the host. Cabin was nice and cool although it was quite hot outside-in the 90's. Beds were comfortable, our daughter enjoyed the loft. I liked the early mornings sitting on the back porch drinking my coffee, the back porch even has ceiling fans to keep one cool. It was way to hot(for us) to use the fire pit. All we had to supply was food, pots and pans, dishes and utensils, a good variety of spices, dish soap and laundry soap , and more, came supplied with the cabin. We liked the location, the small town close by had most of what we needed , but a larger town is but a 30-35 minute drive. The cabin exceeded our expectations. If we were to go back to that area we would check first to see if this cabin was available.
