We had a fantastic time at this property. Two families, 8 people and it fit us great. Kitchen was well appointed, and the location was great, super short walk to the beach. We hope to come back next year!
We loved our stay at this vacation home in Lewes. The house was spacious, it had everything we needed and was very close to the bay and community pool! The kids had a blast and we would stay here again.
What a beautiful home in a great location! Such a short walk to a basically private beach, great pool for children and adults. The house has more than you could ever need! We adored our vacation here!

My family and I had such a nice stay! The house was clean, spacious and a perfect location. We loved the bay beach which is walking distance (5 mins!) from the house. It was perfect for my 18 mo, his first trip to the beach :)
Great house with room for our whole family. Owner let us know in advance of an unexpected problem and took care of it. Very happy overall.

We had a wonderful week.. The property was perfect. It allowed us to spread out with all of the bedrooms and bathrooms. The main area was a great spot for us all to hang out. The screened in porch was the best spot for breakfast.. the property was very clean and well kept. We look forward to returning.
My family greatly enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and beautiful. We loved the location and the neighborhood amenities as well as the proximity to the beach. We did not know we had to bring paper products (paper towels, toilet paper) so it would have been useful to have known in advance but otherwise a very satisfying stay.

Fantastic Family Vacation
We recently returned from a wonderful family vacation at 8 Sandpiper. The house was in excellent condition-- we loved sitting on the screened in porch! A quick walk to the calm, uncrowded beach or community pool. Close biking distance to Cape Henlopen Park (great nature programs) or the cute downtown area of Lewes. The owners were very responsive. Thanks for a great stay!

Eve - Thanks for the review! We are glad you and your group had a great time at 8 Sandpiper, our family spends a ton of time on the screened-in porch too!
We had Grandma and grandpa, three adult children with spouses, four grandkids (6,5,4,3). Plenty of space and beds. Great location, walk to beach and pool.
The kitchen had all good equipment. Very clean, great screened in porch. Will stay again.

Incredible house!
The house was even more beautiful than we had imagined! Location is perfect and we loved the easy access to the bay beach. Kids enjoyed the pool. Plenty of space for our large group. I've already recommended the house to a friend who was impressed by seeing our vacation pics. Kelly was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process.

Thanks Angie! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at 8 Sandpiper Ct. Great to have you and your group as guests. - Kelly
This is a very nice house with a 5 minute walk to the beach. The beach is not crowded at all. The neighborhood is next to Cape Henlopen State Park on one side and the Cape May - Lewes Ferry on the other side. It is a 1 mile drive to downtown Lewes. Our family of 8 was very comfortable staying there. There is a ton of space, both indoor and outdoor. The screened porch on the top floor was our favorite spot. I highly recommend 8 Sandpiper!
Very nice property. Would be nice to have a TV in the kitchen dining area. That way the family room could be used as a kid room. Couches in both rooms close to needing . I know not always easy as a rental. Enjoyed the stay and would rent again. Thank you.
Lovely property. Very tastefully appointed and guest friendly.
No negatives, but making two observations.... no grab bars in any bathroom, and having the main living area on the top floor made it more difficult for those with limited mobility and younger people who have to carry heavy groceries and items. Pleased with all amenities and location. Thank you.

Fantastic property!
Just ending our week and sad to be leaving. Great property, tons of room, love the decor! This house is in a perfect location if you like the quiet of a neighborhood but still want to be minutes from everything. I have always used a realtor when renting and wasn't sure if I wanted to try a VRBO rental. So glad I did! Kelly was so nice and made it so easy. I loved not having to stop at the realtors office on my way in and out of town. Thank you to the Cofrancisco family for sharing your beautiful new home with others. Would highly recommend!

Fun Times in Lewes & Rehoboth!
This stunning beach home was perfectly clean, well appointed, spacious, and beautifully decorated. Couldn't have asked for more! The owners were easy to work with and responsive. The house had loads of space, including great spots for hanging out and enjoying the company of friends. All the things we needed to prepare meals and snacks were there in the well organized kitchen. There's a wonderful long pier into the bay just a few blocks down from the house. Be sure to catch a sunset on the bay from there.
We spent an afternoon on a foodie tour of Rehoboth 'Eating Rehoboth' by Paul Cullen. It was great fun and well worth the $49 per person! Also took the ferry to Cape May for a day...it's right around the corner from the house.

Perfectly Perfect!
The spacious layout of this house was perfect for 11 women on a long weekend away. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large, there was plenty of seating areas both inside and out, the reverse floor plan was fantastic for those who wanted to sleep in a little longer, and the openness of the garage made playing outdoor games possible despite some rainy weather. The house was decorated so tastefully and the luxury of the master bath ensuite had me feeling pampered and relaxed! The owners of the property were very nice and very accommodating, and it was obvious that they took great pride in their property. It was an easy walk to the bay and the pier, and we enjoyed the walking trails in and around Camp Henlopen. We made many memories we will never forget in a home that was truly perfect!

Plenty of space, great layout, kitchen well appointed (actual sharp knives!). Fantastic garage area with enough room for 4 cars shaded under the home, and 2 more in the driveway. Great proximity to beach and Henlopen park, but far from town. We’re walkers, and did the walk to and from town anyway (1.5 - 2 mi each way, depending on destination), so that makes it less accessible to walk places, kinda forces you to drive more.
We were disappointed the pool was under renovation, as that was most of the reason to select that property (4-8 yo’s with less beach tolerance than adults). But positive note, last minute found one of the kids did a big no-no and stained carpet with ’slime’. Kelly was great and y ty hey were able to clean it up without charging us or damage insurance.
The pictures of the property do not do it justice. This is one of the best houses we have stayed in.Community Pool was ideal the two year old actually preferred it to the beach. The beach was clean, the shallow waters at low tide were warm and there was plenty of animal interest to be found in the waters

About the host
Hosted by Kelly C.
8 Sandpiper Ct. is a family beach house, we have vacationed in Lewes for more than three decades. Our family started out camping in Cape Henlopen State Park and has vacationed in many neighborhoods in Lewes over the years and eventually bought the lot at 8 Sandpiper Ct. in the early 1990s.
Why they chose this property
Cape Shores is a great community with a family-friendly feel and its close proximity to Cape Henlopen State Park is what sold us! Building this beach house has been a dream of ours for years.
What makes this property unique
8 Sandpiper is one of the few rental properties within Cape Shores that is located on a cul-de-sac, which is great for children. This property was newly built in 2013 and is one of the few new construction homes available for rent. The neighborhood is the last stop before Cape Henlopen State Park, making it the closest you can get to the park!
