So many great memories made here over the years! Very grateful to have been able to stay at this place and cant wait to hopefully be back next year! Thank you Matt and Dawn for sharing this incredible property
This was "cottage living" at its best.! Reminded me of my younger days when going to visit my grandparents cottage. The owners were excellent to work with. The lakefront and view was gorgeous with plenty of outdoor seating and privacy. The indoor stairway was a little difficult, but we were able to adjust. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay on a lake.
This property is so cozy and considerably private. All the amenities that were in the boat house as well as the kitchen were great luxuries. I hope this location will be available again next year because i seriously wish i would have booked to stay another week. I had left a new fishing pole and radio in the boathouse, as well as some extra cleaning supplies underneath the sink for any future guests. Just wanted to say thanks in some way for such a great stay !

Not a good fit for senior citizens or anyone with a mobility concern. 27 concrete steps from the car to the front door!! The steps to the bathroom were steep and narrow. Also not easy access to the water for seniors. The cottage itself was fine with a great view.We left early.
This place was so nice for us. I worked great for our family of 6. Everything was there that we needed. I don’t remember how clear the listing was but the starts can be tricky at this house. Thank you for the great lake experience!
This is our second stay at this property and we just love it. It is so peaceful and has a beautiful water front. The owners are excellent to work with, and provide you with everything you need for a wonderful vacation.
We had a great time at the lake and exploring towns nearby. The cottage has the basic necessities but could be more comfortable with few modern day essentials.
To add to the comments of the other reviewers, we would have preferred an electric instead of the gas stove. A dishwasher would have been useful. The very small toaster was an annoyance. There was no electric or stove-top kettle to boil water.
The central AC connects to the living room and the two bedrooms. The AC worked well but was extremely noisy. For most days/nights, the portable fans were adequate.
The online listing does not tell you there is no internet or phone. We found the hard way that T-Mobile and AT&T do not connect. Only UScellular network worked. You have to use your cell phone as a hot spot for internet connection. The antique 18" TV has an antenna for a few local channels. No cable. You have to bring your own charcoal/lighter fluid for outdoor grill. The experience would have been better if their was a Kayak or two and a Gas Grill.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay. We are not fussy!!! I am sure you will enjoy your stay as well.

Very nice location
We enjoyed ourselves. The view is spectacular and the weather cooperated! Truly "cottage living" in the best sense of the term. Don't know if was 'end of season' of a little neglect but the property needs some 'tender love and attention' . Steep hill and stairs for anybody with physical limitations.

Family Get Away
My family (husband, wife, 18 month old daughter, and 2 dogs) just spent the week at this cottage. It is in a BEAUTIFUL location!! This property is on Wilke Lake, which is a small lake just a few mins away from Kiel, Wisconsin. We loved how the lake was not crammed with houses and lots of traffic on the lake. The week we were here averaged about 70 degrees, so it was not quite swimming weather and also more boats may have been out if it had been warmer. The lake is small, but if you have a boat or jet skis, you can still have a fun time. The lake is shallow so it would be great for kids to splash and swim along side the dock. My husband and I brought our kayaks and had a great time on the water.
The house itself was small, but efficient. It was cozy but would easily sleep 6 (2 bedrooms and a pullout couch). We brought our dog kennels with us for our two large dogs which set up nicely in the upstairs entry way. There is only one shower (no bathtub for the kids - which made things interesting for bathing our daughter, but we made it work). The kitchen was large enough for only 1 person to comfortable fit in and do the cooking or washing the dishes. But the kitchen was fully stocked with all necessities such as, pots pans, cooking utensils, and dishes which was VERY nice. It has an apartment sized stove and a full sized refrigerator. The living room leads to the upstairs and I was nervous about having our daughter have access to the stairs on both the top and bottom, but I found an adjustable baby gate in the laundry room that we used constantly all week and was very happy to have accessible to us!! There is a laundry room and many laundry baskets available for your use which also were great!
Outside the home there were two main areas: Down by the water and up on top of the hill by the drive way. The patio area is beautiful, but not a place for children. I was watching my daughter like a hawk since the water comes right up to the patio and dock. There is a "fence" along the majority of the patio, but my daughter could easily climb through and get to the water. I did find a long fold-able baby gate in the boat house that we used to block her from getting down by the water (it was a life saver). Second, since we had our dogs with us, we greatly appreciated the large yard for them to run in. It is not fenced, but still has lots of space to run!
I would DEFINITELY recommend this place to a friend and we will be back as well! Thank you!
