This cozy one bedroom knotty pine cottage offers a separate sitting area with full kitchen. Ideally located on a narrow peninsula between Portage Lake and Lake Michigan, each offering unique beaches. It is across the street from Portage Lake and an easy 5 minute walk to Lake Michigan. Public access to both lakes is close by. Onekama is the gateway to the scenic M22- voted one of the top 10 scenic drives in America by USA Today. There is truly something for everyone. Spend your time strolling both beaches, swimming, boating, fishing, or just relaxing around a beach bonfire while watching the sunset. We are also within a half hour of world class golf at the renown Arcadia Bluffs. Night time fun can be had at the Little River Casino only a few miles away. We are within an hour of the Traverse City wine region, the Platte River, and Crystal Mountain resort. Charter fishing can be easily arranged in Onekama.
The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and the sitting room has a sleeper sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped and linens are provided. We offer daily, weekly, and monthly rentals. This cottage is located on a lot with its sister cottage and a discount is offered for those interested in renting both. This area of Portage Lake is the most desirable location for most vacationers, due to its unparalleled access to both lakes.

Nice relaxing getaway

We love staying at this nice little cottage. It is quiet and away from the touristy areas but a close enough drive to shop and sightsee.

Authentic northern getaway

Family vacation

Great sunset

Great Cozy cottage, has all you need!

We had a great stay with our little family in this cozy cottage. Right across from the lake and 5 minutes to the Portage Point Inn, where we attended a wedding. It was a perfect location for our short stay, and wished it could have been longer. Thanks for sharing your sweet home!

Super convenient location!

This cottage is located perfectly ... a few of Portage Lake out the front door, 3 minutes walk to public access to Lake Michigan. You can stroll down to Portage Point Resort for a pizza or ice cream, or drive to the Heathlands golf course in 10 minutes. Perfect for us!

The house has everything you could possibly need, it was clean and comfortable. A short walk and you were at the lake,. I liked that I could walk a half mile in one direction to get to Lake Michigan walk down the beach and come up at a different spot and walk another half mile to complete the circle. I would definitely book this property again.

Just right

We've rented this property for several years. While we kinda wish to stay right on the lake, this location is the next best thing. I enjoy the glimpse of Portage Lake as I sit on the sofa and look out the window. Walks to either Lake Michigan beach are refreshing. We always enjoy bike rides around the peninsula.

Our family has been vacationing in Onekama for four generations. We have never seen a more perfect setting. Both lakes provide such unique offerings and to have them both within minutes is what really makes this area unique. Where else can you watch the sun rise on one lake and set on another within a half mile? What we love the most about the area is the fact that once you have experienced Onekama, you always seem to come back. Year after year and generation after generation, this is the place to make family memories.

What makes this property unique

Both of this dollhouse and its sister cottage have beautiful knotty pine interiors. They can be rented independently or together. The dollhouse is a cozy get-away, but would also be a perfect grandparent or in-law cottage for families staying in the sister cottage.
