Point Robinson Lighthouse - Keeper's Quarters A

Vashon Island's lighthouse station offers weekend and week-long stays in the two renovated Keeper's Quarters. The two residences share the beach with the lighthouse and other features of the historic light station. Both residences are available for rent throughout the year and offer groups of up to six adults a wonderful way to enjoy the beach, the Puget Sound, and Vashon-Maury Island.

Keepers Quarters A at Point Robinson Light Station is a modest three-bedroom, two-bath, two-story bungalow perched near the lighthouse on the shore of the East Passage of Puget Sound. It offers a wondrous porch looking out over the water and, on a clear day, you'll be able to see Mt. Rainier and sometimes, pods of orcas, too!

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Put all used towels on the bathroom floor or in the tub. Leave all used beds un-made. Do not strip beds.
Lower the thermostat to 58 degrees.
Please leave kitchen as you found it. Please log out of any personal Roku channels/accounts.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Vashon Park District MUST receive Facility Rental Contract before arrival date or reservation may be canceled. ALL events require pre-approval!
Check-out Time is at 11 AM. Late departures after 11:15 AM will be charged $30 per hour in one-hour increments.
Open fires are not allowed anywhere in the Park. Charcoal and propane grills on-site. BYO charcoal.

The house was very clean and charming. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfortable. We spent most of our time sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch facing the water, in the living room facing the water, or walking on the beach and taking pictures! I also like that you can see the water from all the bedrooms. The location is amazing, truly beautiful. The host was very responsive and helpful. We can't wait to go back.

Vashon with Friends

From beginning to end, this adventure was amazing. My hubby and I have stayed at the lighthouse before and enjoyed it, but sharing with friends was the best. We were all in awe of the beautiful house and the view. Being there during storm only added to the adventure. We even saw a pod of whales. Amazing.

Make your adult dreams come true

We got to be lighthouse keepers for the weekend and the experience did not disappoint. Highly recommend! The caretaker was kind, the house was historic and comfortable, and access to the property after dark was a special treat (the trolls as INCREDIBLE). The only downside was the crowds, but we were grateful for fence giving us a little breathing room.

Spectacular!

What a location, you just can’t beat that anywhere! We looked straight at Mount Rainier all weekend. It didn’t hurt that the weather was fantastic, but we would have been happy in the house anyway. We spent the afternoons just relaxing there. The front porch, the picnic table on the side, the living room – all the spaces were wonderful and comfortable. Dining room and kitchen are nice. Good beds too! Thank you for this wonderful place!

This place is perfect and we could easily have stayed the entire month. The only reason this is not a five-star review is because of the bed in the upstairs front room. It is LONG overdue for a new mattress. It sinks in them middle as though it is 20 years old.. This house is a perfect getaway with so much to offer but for the price you pay, all the bedrooms should come with a reasonable mattress. Otherwise, this place is PERFECT.

Paradise, so close to home yet so far away.

We recently enjoy the weekend at the keepers quarters on Maury Island just off the southern tip of Vashon Island in Puget Sound. This old house, just steps from the lapping waters and overlooking glacier-capped Mount Rainier just an arm's reach away, gave everything we needed for a relaxing getaway without going too far from home. A 20 minute ferry ride, and 20 minute drive down the island led us to this exclusive park, closed to visitors in the evenings, felt like our own private estate on the tip of paradise. The house reminded me of my childhood days, with character and construction no longer found longer easily. You gave us everything we needed, including personal comfort and a well stocked kitchen. There was nothing missing in the cozy, unpretentious house, and the addition of personal items, nice dinnerware and the fabulous front porch to sit together and gaze across at across the sparkling water was as good as could be. Seals frolicked in the water, Eagles flew by. Orca whales had passed out front earlier in the day when we arrived, but, missing them didn't bother us because the scene was so beautiful in any event. It was the perfect place to enjoy fun days and evenings with friends, making paella, playing board games, and walking the driftwood beach. It was a magnificent stay in a very comfortable place. We could not have been happier, and can't wait to make this short journey again as soon as possible.

We could only stay for two nights, but let us stay. The view is phenomenal. When the clouds clear Mount Rainier is right there in front of you. Kayakers going by. The sound of the beach, smell of fresh air, view in every direction.The house is cute. Reminds me of my grandmother's house. Kitchen was perfect. Just an all-around great stay agreed by all.

Check-in and check-out process was very convenient. Hosts were very helpful in communicating about the property. The property is very well equipped and stocked with everything we needed. They even have several games and activities available for times when the weather isn't all that great. We enjoyed watching the ships go by, and were even blessed to see a pod of whales performing as they passed by the island.

The perfect getaway!

This is our second stay at the house, and it was perfect. Cheryl was great to work with when coordinating the details, and the on-site property manager quickly resolved an after-hours request. The house gives a beautiful view of the beach and water, where we enjoyed watching the world go by. We also saw a few river otters playing nearby - what a treat! The kitchen is filled with just about everything you could need, the beds were comfortable and plenty of blankets provided. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much to the staff that manages the property - we truly appreciate it.

Holiday getaway

Our two day stay at Keeper's Quarters A was wonderful. We enjoyed short walks on the beach where we saw a seal and two river otters and spent evenings in the cozy home playing games. It is a wonderfully relaxing and peaceful.

Great experience - will be back for sure!

We enjoyed the mixture of old style and modern conveniences. The house was clean and comfortable. The view was marvelous- we had two gorgeous days to enjoy a front porch view of the mountain. Sunset and sunrise were amazing. The caretaker next door is very nice and helpful. We enjoyed watching otters and seals in the water as we sipped our coffee on the porch. Wonderful getaway with the family.

Wonderful family vacation

The location is A-MAZ-ING! You are right on the beach with a lovely porch with rocking chairs to enjoy the view. Elderly mother could sit in the shade of the front porch while adult children beach combed and kayaked right out front. We did bring a few extra beach chairs (which we used outside and also in the living room to add estra seating on movie nights) and of course our own kayaks. Kitchen was well equipped and spacious enough to accommodate the many helpers during meal prep. Appliances are all in good working order and full size making it easy to whip up meals and store food for 8 people. Fans were available for those days/nights that were hot and loved the new windows with screens that opened easily to let in the evening breeze. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

Point Robinson - what a special gift this property is to the people of Vashon. There are not a lot of places in the world where you can witness whales breaching an arm's length away and giant ships steaming by in the night, or, watch Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, and Osprey fishing for prey in front of a working lighthouse. So, on behalf of our Island and the Vashon Park District, welcome to Point Robinson Lighthouse. You're going to love it.

What makes this property unique

The Lighthouse and the two Keeper's Quarters are well over 100 years old, perched right on the shore of Puget Sound. There really aren't a lot of properties like this in WA State (or anywhere). A truly unique historical experience!
