We stayed at the River House on our first blended family vacation to the Williamsburg area. The home was extremely clean, relaxing, and large enough that everyone could spread out to have privacy when needed. This was exactly what we were hoping for. The only downside was laundry in the am of leaving. With a 9.5 hour drive before breaks ahead of us, leaving at nearly noon was just too much. I understand the cost reflected this, but I would have gladly paid extra to be able to leave earlier. All in all, if you are closer and looking for an escape , this place will be a perfect fit. The owners were prompt with responses, and extremely kind. The home was beautiful, as was the area. It is rural, as described in the listing (30 minutes to Yorktown, and 60 to Williamsburg, so be aware of that, but it was worth the drive for us for the serenity.

We so appreciated our stay in this comfy home filled with everything you need! The kitchen is filled with all the cooking necessities needed, so many comfortable places to relax and unwind and the view is wonderful too!

Hidden gem in a secluded part of VA

This was the perfect home for our family who was visiting Deltaville for a memorial service for our grandfather. Everything was great and the house was clean and well appointed.

Great Getaway

The River House Getaway is a fantastic location with beautiful views of the Piankatank river and lots of space. The house was clean, stocked with towels and linens and kitchen cookware we needed. The hosts were great to work with! We really enjoyed our stay there.

Perfect for a Williamsburg getaway

The place was perfect for us. It was close enough to the theme parks while far enough away from the main tourist areas to experience some local flair. I loved sitting on the side porch in the evening and listening to the frogs.

Family getaway

This was a great place to meet up with family to enjoy a few days together. The house was well stocked with what we needed to just visit and be together. A very remote area but not a difficult drive to sight see and find things to do in Yorktown, Jamestown, VA Beach and Williamsburg.

Absolutely wonderful layout for family. The space is very open and inviting. House supplied nicely with linens, kitchen supplies etc. Very nice water access for kayak or canoe. Can't wait to go back.

We came to Gloucester to help a friend out- and a few of us went to the quilt show in Hampton. House was perfect size for 6 adults to stay. Waking up seeing the river was a great start for the day. House was clean and as advertised. We will stay here again!

Girls weekend

It was a great house, had plenty of room for the four of us. We enjoyed the large kitchen with plenty of room to move around. We had our best weekend in years of taking girls weekend.

Wedding

We stayed here and helped out a friend that got married on Gwynns Island. Accommodations were everything we needed and more. Liked the location in a quiet neighborhood. There were 3 couples and we had plenty of room.
