WOW!!! Creek and Large stocked pond Waterfront Cabin in the National Forest
We have a no pet policy. Trout Run Cabin is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath real log cabin located on the banks of Fightingtown Creek, a protected trout steam. The cabin sleeps 6 comfortably. No pets, no smoking, no hot tub.
We are a family destination not a party location. It is very quiet here and we like it that way. If you like whimsy, you will love it here. The pictures tell the story.
At Trout Run Cabin you can take long walks back into the forest for miles or sit on the porch and read a book. How about sitting by the fire pit out back at night making s'mores while listening to the crystal clear water rushing by. The sounds of the forest are all around you. This is a very peaceful place. Lots of flat areas for the children to run and play. Bring their bikes and they can ride all day long.
No license needed to fish in the pond out front.
Inside you will find 2 premium king size beds: One in the master suite and the other in the loft suite. Also, there is a set of bunk beds in the bunk room. All beds have 1500 Egyptian cotton thread count sheets.

If you want comfort, thoughtfulness, and peace, look no further! There is plenty to do right around the corner in Blue Ridge if you want to leave, but we honestly didn’t want to. We caught several fish in the stocked pond, the kiddos played for hours in the beautiful running creek, and the serenity you get sitting on the back porch by the stream is priceless. We were also greeted by several deer with their babies and geese. The host was amazing and checked in on us to see if there was anything we needed. We will absolutely be back!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The area is beautiful and peaceful. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek, muddy puddles, and fishing in the pond. The cabin was great and stocked with essentials. Hope to visit again!
Trout Run Cabin is truly a genuine cabin in the mountains. It is the ideal place to get away and relax. The furnishings are well made and the setting next to a creek with a fishing pond next to the cabin makes it ideal for both adults and children. Leave your electronic devices at home and return to nature! Murray is a great host too.
Cabin had everything needed. Had a great time relaxing by the creek and fire pit. Grandsons loved fishing in the pond and creek. Great getawayhighly recommend!!

Thanks so much for staying at Trout Run Cabin. So happy you all enjoyed your stay.
We LOVED this place and definitely plan to return! The property is gorgeous, the house is thoughtfully stocked, and the neighbors are so friendly and welcoming. The downstairs king bed is a bit lumpy and I wish we could bring our dog, but otherwise this place was perfect for us!

Growing up in Florida, I have always taken summer vacations to the mountains because it is so different. I love the outdoors so it is a natural thing to love the cabin. For me and my wife, it is a dream come true. We found the perfect place in the perfect location. We have young children and wanted a place that we could let them run and play and not have to worry. We found it. This is one of those items on the bucket list that has been fulfilled. We hope that our guests enjoy the cabin as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I had always wanted a cabin in the mountains, on a stream, with a lot of flat area. In June of 2012, we found everything we had been looking for. One of the first things I noticed when I first visited the cabin was how quiet is it and all you can hear is the sound of the creek rushing by. It is a special place and we are just happy that we are able to share it with others.
What makes this property unique
Trout Run Cabin is such a relaxing place. It is so quiet here. You can just sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of the forest. One of the best things is that you feel so removed from everything yet you are only 20 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. It is just an awesome place.
