Enjoy a relaxing retreat in a cozy South Joshua Tree Guest House. The Guest House is open and airy 1000 square foot studio on a private 4 acre gated property with beautiful north facing sunset views.

The bedroom area has a queen sized bed and remodeled bathroom with shower. On the other side of the studio there is one or optionally 2 twin size beds that can be set up separately or also be pushed together for a Cal King size if needed.

The living room area has a super comfy down-filled mid-century couch and ottoman in front of the fireplace. There is a stereo with AUX, Bluebooth, CD & DVD player, turntable, Alexa, and Apple AirPlay inputs connected to a large flat screen TV with Roku interface in the living area for all of your entertainment needs! An interesting selection of CDs, DVDs, records, and books are provided for use during your stay.

Enjoy our cute kitchen is fully stocked with plates, flatware, glassware and starters for your meals and both a charcoal and propane barbeque grill outside.

There is a private patio with with table and chairs and a fire pit that faces north and features beautiful views - especially great for star gazing at night! There is a secluded Jacuzzi J-LXL hot tub with lounge seat on a slab just a few steps off the patio. The location is private and sits amongst Joshua Trees and desert flora and offers panoramic views of the sunset, surrounding mountains, city lights, and amazing stars at night. There are 2 hammocks for lounging under a large shade tree next to the carport where you can park your car under cover.

An Autel Level 2 40 amp EV charger with Tesla adapter is available.

Really great place - we liked the slightly funky concrete floors, 70s retro air. The location is fantastic- so close to the Joshua Tree NP entrance and town of Joshua Tree. We stayed almost 2 weeks, so had to wash clothes- good /clean laundromat in town but not at VRBO. But the host was GREAT, and the place was fun and easy and perfect for us. Thx for a great stay.

The Modern Guesthouse is very conveniently located near several great shops and restaurants and it was also easy to get to the JT Music Festival from there. It’s cozy, comfortable, and has a very good vibe. Mark, the host is a great communicator, responds quickly and had lots of good suggestions on things to do while we were there. I was so pleased with my visit. Mark, our host, was so accommodating. He was quick to answer questions, and very flexible when I needed to make last minute additions -- and then subtractions -- to my guest count. I felt like I was in good hands with him as the contact/host. I loved the cozy guest house. It was a kitschy, well appointed cabin under the stars! It was a quick drive to the main road that goes through town and hits all the fun shops restaurants, but isolated enough from the main drag that we felt like we had great privacy. A highlight was taking advantage of the hot tub in the cool December evening weather, with a fantastic view of the brush around us.I was such a fan of all the Pendleton blankets that were on offer to curl up with. A surprise desert rain storm fog were no issue at all because the thermostat was in great working order so we were very warm. The aesthetic of the guest house is just very charming. It was a lovely getaway, and I will definitely return. Thank you, Mark.

This place is a great stay and exactly as the pictures show. Its a studio but the space is larger than I expected. It has a great view of the landscape, especially at night of the city lights down the hill.We found ourselves enjoying the large and very eclectic collection of vinyl and record player. And also relaxed in the hammocks which are shaded buy a large tree.We're looking forward to future return visits.

We recently relocated permanently to Joshua Tree from the Silverlake area of Los Angeles. They operate several vacation rentals in Joshua Tree. Laura teaches yoga and owned a yoga studio - Glendale Yoga in Glendale, CA - which is now closed but operates virtually from Joshua Tree. We both grew up in Cincinnati, OH but have lived in California for 30 years. We love everything that California has to offer but are particularly enamored with the beautiful scenery and interesting community of Joshua Tree.
