Treat your family to a much needed get-away at the resort town of Lava Hot Springs! Enjoy total comfort and privacy in this up-scale 5000 sq ft home. Wake up to a panoramic view of the valley, surrounding mountains, and abundant wildlife. Play a round of golf on the nearby course!

This property SLEEPS 20 in beds and is located just over a mile from the town of Lava. It backs to BLM so an early morning hike, an ATV ride into town (or to miles of back country trails) can happen right from the property!

Home includes: 6 bedrooms (incl. large bonus room w/ 6 twin beds) 120" Projection Theater System, 3 smart TV’s & large movie library, 2 gas fireplaces, Granite counters, 2 large jetted tubs, a bidet, and luxurious walk-in steam shower, WIFI, wood flooring, on-demand hot water system and soft water, front loading washer/drier, beautiful deck & walk-out basement with gas grill, yard space, outdoor and indoor speakers, ZIP LINE for smaller kids, fire pit, tetherball, large Connect 4, ARCADE games, etc. This house is the ultimate party central!

4WD will be needed to access house in the winter months, (though we do have someone to plow when it snows). The house is located on the side of a mountain so there are many variables involved but it does promise TOTAL privacy and comfort.

It has been a stressful year. Escape from the daily “grind” to this little piece of paradise!! We guarantee that your kids and grandkids will be talking about it all year long. :-)

Beautiful, quiet and comfortable

This house is huge and beautifully decorated. The beds and family space are comfortable. It’s about 5 minutes from lava hot springs. We went for a ladies trip but it would be great for families. The driveway steep and is all gravel. A 4 wheel drive vehicle would be ideal for this location. It did have amazing views. There are a lot of extras in this house. We liked the fireplaces, stocked kitchen and extra bedding. Really loved the house and we will be back.

Perfect family getaway

This was our second winter family trip to this beautiful Cabin. Tons of room for everyone and the jetted tubs are an added Bonus and a quick drive to town to enjoy the pools and hot springs. Can’t wait to go back. Host is great and responsive. The need for 4WD or AWD is serious. Our Subaru Outback and pick up trucks did fine but it is steep in areas and would not recommend anyone try a two wheel drive when there is ice/snow on the ground.

About the host

Hosted by Lorie and Richard Cannon

Richard grew up in Shelley, Idaho (home of the Shelley Russets!). Lorie grew up on a cattle ranch near Rifle, Colorado. They met on a blind date at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho in 1994 and moved all around the country getting educated. We have 4 children.

Why they chose this property

We have always dreamed of owning a place in Lava Hot Springs and when this property became available, we fell in love with it right away. Our family has visited the Lava Hot Springs area nearly every year. We enjoy the swimming pools the most! Next we enjoy the beautiful mountain setting, exciting swimming/tubing activities for kids, and the quaintness of this small town.

Making improvements and painting all of the once-pink walls, have been a labor of love that our whole family has been a part of. A highlight in our week is to get to stay at "Lava View Lodge" on our free weekends but having 4 busy teenagers, it is hard to find the time to get away. As a result, we rent it out to considerate guests on most weekends of the year and find it getting busier and busier.

What makes this property unique

This home is in complete isolation! The view of the mountains and golf course from the dining room windows sold us on the property. It is a special 'haven' away from everyday chaos. We see deer and jack rabbits nearly every morning. If you consider renting in winter months, make sure you bring 4WD.
