About this property

Charming storybook 1940's Cabin Located In The Heart Of Grand Lake Village

Must see! This adorable, knotty pine studio cabin is located within walking distance of downtown, Grand Lake, and RMNP.

This 1940's cabin is loaded with historic character and located on a peaceful, aspen-filled lot within Grand Lake village. This quaint 400 square foot studio knotty-pine cabin has a queen-size bed, separate kitchen area, bath, cozy gas fireplace, and sitting area with cable television. Gas stove, microwave, and dishwasher available. Grill, fire pit, and sitting area located outside. Use the coffee-maker in the morning, or wander downtown to one of the local lake-side coffee shops. Perhaps just lounge in the outside seating area and watch for wildlife to wander through the area. **(Please note that the mountains are a host to MANY types of wildlife. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, unwanted wildlife such as chipmunks or mice can sometimes find their way into mountain cabins. If you are uncomfortable with this possibility, this vacation choice may not be the best for you.) This cabin's charm, quiet environment, and walking-distance proximity to town, the lake, and the Rocky Mountain National Park trailheads make it an easy choice for a vacation stay.

This cabin is held to a higher safety standard than cabins located outside of the village. It is inspected annually by the Grand Lake fire department.

Do you have friends/family who would also like to vacation at the same time? Three darling listings are located nearby - listings 674069, 899718, 1155015 on VRBO.

Cozy cabin getaway

What a picturesque little cabin in an amazing location. Perfect size for 2 adults and 2 small dogs for a weekend away. The interior pictures leave much to the imagination, but we were pleasantly surprised with the size and layout! Had everything we needed and would love to stay again!

Perfect quaint cabin!

We loved our stay at the cabin. It had all the amenities we needed for our long weekend of hiking and exploring the east side of RMNP. We saw a moose and deer steps away from our front door! I noted the brand of sheets used because they were so comfy! A great stay!

Adorable Cabin!

Such a fun and relaxing stay. Saw some beautiful sights. Had a full day of snow and really enjoyed coming back to the cabin to warm up by the fireplace and watch the snow continue to fall through the cabin windows. Don’t know which I liked better, the comfy chair or the sweet country rocking chair!!

Great Mountain Getaway

Very cute cabin in a great location in Grand Lake. The cabin is quaint but perfect for one or two people. The owner was very communicative, check in/out was very easy, and the cabin was reasonably stocked with enough kitchenware to get you through. Also, a there is a nice firepit in the yard. In terms of the area, you can easily walk downtown and to the lake, and there is great hiking nearby. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet weekend away in the mountains!

The location was close to town but also quiet and beautiful. The cabin was clean and comfortable…and dog friendly! The kitchen was well appointed and the bed was wet comfortable. The yard was very overgrown and could use a bit of maintenance and charging multiple devices was a bit of a challenge due to the lack/location of outlets, but we managed just fine and enjoyed our stay immensely!! We’ll be back.

Not close enough to the lake

Cabin is very cozy. We are not spring chickens so the walk to town was a bit long. We missed not being on/near the lake. However the aspen were beautiful! Otherwise, very nice indeed.

Cozy Cabin for Surprise Winter Getaway

Surprised my wife with a winter getaway and this was the perfect little cabin for the weekend! Very comfortable and warm; we enjoyed our weekend in Grand Lake. Nice little touches and great character in the cabin - all the logistics were easy and Rebekah was very responsive. Grand Lake is a great little town and the cabin is only a couple minute's drive from Grand Ave. Lots to do in the area, even in the winter (or especially in the winter?). Only negative comment: If you plan to cook, make sure to clean the dishes first - either the last people didn't wash well or nobody's cooked there in a while - but the kitchen is stocked with some supplies. Thank you for a great stay; my wife (and I) loved it!

Rebekah was great

There were a few minor issues such as overhead light not working properly and missing measuring cups. Rebekah got those addressed immediately. Things always happen in my experience and so I think the most important thing is a responsive host that address issues in a timely mannertaddress issues in a timely manner

About the host

Hosted by Rebekah Wilson

Host profile image
We (Dan and Rebekah) were raised in the Kansas flatlands, but we each vacationed in Colorado while growing up. We finally made the leap to the high country 6 years ago, and we have taken full advantage of this giant playground ever since our move.
Dan and Rebekah currently live in Windsor, located in northeast Colorado. Dan works with the University of Colorado Health System, and Rebekah retired from employment with this health system two years ago. She currently enjoys her work with a number of civic organizations, as well as master gardening, welding, and other hobbies.
Dan and Rebekah enjoy every aspect of this wonderful Colorado environment. They are avid fly-fishermen, hunters, hikers, and general outdoorsmen.
The couple enjoys a sizable amount of time in the mountains. Dan completed his due-diligence in investigating options for a mountain home. We wanted a location that would appeal to all ages, all year round, and we wanted activities that involved mountains, water, wildlife, and a community atmosphere. After looking at dozens of options, we found that Grand Lake met all of our needs.

Why they chose this property

We spend a sizable amount of time in the mountains. Dan completed his due-diligence in investigating options for a mountain home. We wanted a location that would appeal to all ages, all year round, and we wanted activities that involved mountains, water, wildlife, and a community. We have several children, and this location and property provides a central location for family members to walk or ride bikes to nearly every amenity within Grand Lake.

What makes this property unique

One look at this rustic cabin would help anyone understand why we purchased this home. It is nestled within aspen trees in a peaceful neighborhood - and it is within walking distance of downtown, Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park.
This cabin has history - several Grand Lake locals have lived in this cabin over the past 80 years, including a previous Grand Lake mayor. It's knotty-pine
interior and quaint fireplace looks like a Norman Rockwell painting.
We purchased this cabin, as well as the cabin next door, as they belonged together in a 'Jack and Jill' cottage setting. Some of our family and friends have enjoyed using both cabins to have family gatherings.
