About this property

Quiet Retreat with private courtyard In Grand Lake Village!

Must see! This adorable, renovated 1940s 2-bedroom cabin is located within walking distance of downtown, Grand Lake, and RMNP.

This 1940's cabin is loaded with historic character and located on a peaceful, large lot within Grand Lake village. "Adorable and cozy" are terms used to describe this authentic village cabin. This charming cabin has a queen-size bed and a sink vanity in one bedroom, a separate nice bathroom with shower, washer/dryer, and twin beds and a TV/VCR in the second bedroom, separate living and kitchen areas, bath, and gas fireplace. Microwave and dishwasher available. Grill, sitting area, and firepit located outside. Dog run available at back of property so your furry friends can enjoy the outside weather while you hike in the Park. Use the coffee-maker in the morning, or wander downtown to one of the local lake-side coffee shops. Perhaps just lounge in the outside seating area and watch for wildlife to wander through the area. **(Please note that the mountains are a host to MANY types of wildlife. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, unwanted wildlife such as chipmunks or mice can sometimes find their way into mountain cabins. If you are uncomfortable with this possibility, this vacation choice may not be the best for you.) This cabin's charm, quiet environment, and walking-distance proximity to town, the lake, and the Rocky Mountain National Park trailheads make it an easy choice for a vacation stay.

This cabin is held to a higher safety standard than cabins located outside the village. It is inspected annually by the Grand Lake fire department.

Do you have family/friends who are also planning to vacation? We have other charming cabins located nearby! (listings 611187, 674069, and 1155015)

What an absolute gem of an experience we had during our week in Grand Lake. The property is within minutes of the West entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park which was our main reason for visiting. The property is like arriving to your home away from home. Grand Lake attractions are within walking or short drive. It is semi-remote so we did make a Costco stop prior to leaving the metro area. You will love this place no matter the reason for visiting.

Wonderful property

Rebekah’s property and care for our stay was impeccable! She texted me when we checked in to make sure everything was okay and was a phone call away if we needed anything. We loved her property and the entire grand lake area. Thank you!

An absolutely wonderful stay! The cabin was perfect. Plenty of room for four adults. Very clean! Everything one might need was there. They have thought of everything. My husband forgot his hiking bag and they had one to borrow! The host is readily available if anything was needed. The location was great too just a short walk to town. Can’t wait to stay there again.

Outstanding, quiet little getaway!

My wife, dog and I stayed for a couple of nights in September and were absolutely thrilled with the cabin. It was just as advertised and there were so many nice personal touches to the place, we felt very "at home". Rebekah the property manager was sooo responsive and we lacked for nothing.

Lovely Little Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay in Grand Lake. Communication with the owner was great- she answered all our questions in a very timely manner. The cabin was very cute- perfect for our hiking adventures up in RMNP. The kitchen was small, but met our needs, and had everything that we needed. Would surely stay here again!

Memorial weekend 2017 - a trip to remember

My wife and I stayed at this cabin with our 17 year old daughter and her friend. Even after seeing pictures online I still wasn't certain what to expect. It was perfect! One bedroom had a sink in it which was really nice when 4 people are trying to get ready each night and morning. The other bedroom had two single beds so it was perfect for two teenagers. Nice kitchen, laundry machines if you need them, fire pit, and just a few blocks from downtown Grand Lake. Just a few short miles to RMNP and about 1.5 miles to a trail head that takes you to Adams Falls - amazing. Saw a moose and elk right in town. Rebecca was great and cared about our stay. We will look her up the next time we're in Grand Lake!

Don’t stay here!

This is a small, cute house. That wasn’t the problem - two problems, one small and one huge. The small one - you can’t enter through the front door. You have to go around the back. Second, there is MICE POOP all over the place! And, we saw a MOUSE!! Of course when we saw this, we immediately left the property. We reached out to the host to ask for a full refund, given how unsafe that is, we had to leave early, and had to find an expensive place to stay before we went home. It was a total mess and now I get to be terrified of illness for the next month. There are plenty of other places to stay. Additionally, the host is now claiming there isn’t any mouse poop. Luckily I took photos (and texted the host said photos, so very odd).

Grand Lake Cabin

The cabin would be a great getaway for two to four people. It is comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace. The cabin was decorated with a fun cabin theme. Nice art! Had plenty of towels, etc. Love having the washing machine. Unfortunately we had to deal with a bad smell coming from under the crawl space of the cabin. Apparently a critter died under there. We were able to get ahold of the owner and she was able to get someone to come while we were out hiking the next morning to take care of the problem. The smell was still pretty strong in the front area of the house. Hopefully it will dissipate soon! This was something that could happen in a cabin setting and it wan’t anyone’s fault. Rebecca offered to by us dinner but we just wanted to let her know so she could take care of it. We both thought the enclosed yard could use some major clean up after the winter. It would be nice for families during the summer with a little clean up.

We all loved this cabin! It was in a fantastic location: walkable distance to downtown but tucked away from traffic. Thank you for supplying shampoo, conditioner, and body wash… it made the stay even easier. And the extra sheets and bowls for the dog was a huge plus.

We (Dan and Rebekah) were raised in the Kansas flatlands, but we each vacationed in Colorado while growing up. We finally made the leap to the high country 6 years ago, and we have taken full advantage of this giant playground ever since our move.
Dan and Rebekah currently live in Windsor, located in northeast Colorado. Dan works in the medical field, and Rebekah retired from employment with this health system two years ago. She currently enjoys her work with a number of civic organizations, as
well as master gardening, welding, and other hobbies.
Dan and Rebekah enjoy every aspect of this wonderful Colorado environment. They are avid fly-fishermen, hunters, hikers, and general outdoorsmen.
The couple enjoys a sizable amount of time in the mountains. Dan completed his due-diligence in investigating options for a mountain home. We wanted a location that would appeal to all ages, all year round, and we wanted activities that involved mountains, water, wildlife, and a community atmosphere. After looking at dozens of options, we found that Grand Lake met all of our needs.

Why they chose this property

We spend a sizable amount of time in the mountains. Dan completed his due-diligence in investigating options for a mountain home. We wanted a location that would appeal to all ages, all year round, and we wanted activities that involved mountains, water, wildlife, and a community. We have several children, and this location and property provides a central location for family members to walk or ride bikes to nearly every amenity within Grand Lake.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this cabin because it combines aspects of its original 1940's appeal with more modern updates such as french doors, dishwasher, washer/dryer, unique ironworks, and a large landscaped yard. It is nestled in a peaceful neighborhood - and it is within walking distance of downtown, Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park.
