One of our favorite houses we have stayed in. The decor is beautiful, the views are incredible and the location is great. All of our favorite restaurants are close by and the walk to the beach is easy. The screened in porch adds another level of relaxation to the home. We loved our stay here.

Extended Birthday Weekend

We stayed at LaMer for a long birthday weekend and everything was perfect in the home and location with easy beach access. The home was spotless and well stocked including beach chairs and towels. Great Location

The location was great with an easy walk to the beach. The house was clean and had several amenities and accommodations. The lake provided a great swimming option on the beach for the little ones on the days red flags were present. Overall wonderful experience! We hope to be back soon!

We've come for 5 years how. The perfect house. walking distance from the beach, your own pool, great upstairs master with your own balcony, downstairs kids rooms. Screened porch is perfect place to take a break from the beach.

Owners are very responsive and helpful. Hurricane was approaching (landed in New Orleans) and owners called to discuss options. Home in great condition and very comfortable. Beautiful views of dunes and gulf in distance. Beach is easily accessible but is a good walk to get to the water. We enjoyed the stay.

We had such a wonderful week. The house has everything you need for a beach vacay, including beach chairs and towels, pool toys, beach/sand toys for kids. Fully stocked kitchen with tons of dishes, pots and pans, spices etc. You might want to pack a few ziploc bags/saran wrap/foil if you plan on cooking a lot. Very short walk to the neighborhood beach access, made easier by the beach wagon and chair caddy. The beach was not crowded at all since the neighborhood is somewhat isolated on both sides. My teenage boys loved the ping pong table. Thank you so much for letting other people use your wonderful beach house!

2nd time staying in home

We had a great time and the house did not disappoint. Kitchen is stocked with every tool / dish you could possibly need. Our teens spent so much time on the screened in deck playing cards and eating their meals. Home has nice views, especially beautiful from primary bedroom.

We found this home to be stocked with anything one would need. We chose to cook a lot so we could enjoy dining on the screened porch listening to the ocean and have never found a kitchen as well stocked in a VRBO. We marveled at the decor and functionality of the home. And really loved the location to get be away from the crowds of Watercolor and Seaside yet in such close proximity when we chose to go to those places.

We were on a girls trip for a week. The house is everything we needed. The careened porch was our favorite spot. Thank goodness for such a comfortable sofa...that’s where I slept for 4 nights after dislocating my shoulder.

Perfect family vaca spot!

We had a great time. The communication was excellent with Wayne and Sherri. The house was perfect. We have a 1yo, 3yo, and 6 yo and they loved the fairy trail and all the toys in the kids bunk room. The pool was awesome even though it wasn’t heated - we still used it almost as much as the beach! Easter was crowded everywhere else but not here which we loved. The walk to the beach was short and easy for kids. The layout was perfect for us. We would love to return. Thinking of next year already!!!

Charming, character filled home in best n’hood on 30A

Comprehensively stocked home and in the quietest part of 30A. The house is backed up against a state park affording gorgeous views especially from the upstairs bedroom. While the beach chair dolly was broke, I could only surmise from my correspondence with the owners that it is probably fixed or replaced already. Communication with Sherri was replete with helpful information as well as rec’s for area dining and activities. Look forward to returning.

Beautiful LaMer

I can summarize the house in one word, PERFECT! The house has everything you could want and is beautiful. We enjoyed the views of the ocean and the lake, the pool, the screened in porch, the location, etc. The wagon, beach chairs, toys and towels were a great perk! We loved the quiet area and it was nice meeting the people who have been coming to Gulf Trace for 20+ years. The kids loved playing in both the ocean and the lake. They loved playing with all the other kids. We are completely in love with this area and will be back!!!

Best Location on 30A

If your destination is 30A, then Gulf Trace is the best beach on the strip. I cannot speak for all properties in Gulf Trace, but this one exceeded my expectations. Some of the highlights: easy walk to the beach; very large, comfortable screened porch; master suite had incredible views of the gulf & lake; kitchen was fully loaded with any cooking item you may need; great space underneath with the ping-pong and all the beach chairs or toys you could ever use. You can literally just show up with your clothes...everything else is furnished. Love it!!!

The Perfect House and Experience

We travel to the beach yearly but never have we had such a wonderful place to stay! The Lamars pay attention to detail as evidenced by the overall decor of the home; it just makes you feel happy with all of the colors and “whimsy”. Everything you need is there from kitchen items to beach chairs, toys, games, and awesome internet and cable service. The owners are very prompt in answering when you call or text with a question. The short walk to the beach through the small grove and sand dunes is charming and the views from the deck are stunning. We loved the enclosed porch and the hammock was a nice touch. We will look forward to staying here again and again.

Great relaxing vacation surrounded by nature

We just got back from staying at this beach house and we had a great time. My wife and I went with our two daughters and one of their friends. The neighborhood is surrounded by a state park so it is nice and quiet and there is plenty of nature to enjoy. We saw deer, a sea turtle, stingrays, sand fleas, fish, osprey, sandpipers… We got to enjoy a peaceful, natural environment and then ride bikes to restaurants and stores. It is only a short walk to the beach from behind the house and they provide a cart to help you get your things down to the shore. The girls loved playing on the beach and in the pool. The house has great views of the white dunes, Alligator Lake, and the ocean. The house is full of decorative elements which were great for playing “decoration scavenger hunt” with the kids when it was raining. We loved the house and the location. Very relaxing.

Great home, communication with the owner was fast. Home has some great views from the screen in porch and also the deck off Master. the screened porch is so AWESOME! We spent a lot of time there. Pool is bigger than it appears in photos and worked perfectly. There is an outdoor shower for washing your feet off. Tons of toys and some chairs and umbrellas.... although we brought our own. Kitchen is well stocked with just about any cooking tool, pot or pan you could think of needing. Ice maker wasn't working when we were there but owner was trying....repairman was out 3x during our stay. I would definitely stay in this home again.

I've never paid more for a house than this one and it was a very nice house, but I wouldn't stay in it again. They provided all of the beach stuff you needed, that was great, but we had to go out and buy garbage bags, toilet paper, and paper towels. For that kind of $ you would think those things would be included. Fantastic view from the 3rd floor balcony of Alligator Lake and the beach, but 2nd floor balcony couldn't see the beach but good view of Alligator Lake. The child proof lock on the swimming pool fence broke the 2nd day we were there. Upon inspection, you could tell that it had been super-glued back together some time previous, it wasn't a big deal for us because my kids were old enough not to need a child proof lock, but again, that shouldn't have happened. Caught a roach in the house, again, no big deal to me but the kids screamed. The inside of the house was nice, lots of board games for the kids. Apparently I can't leave a review if I go into details about what I paid, but isn't the $ a big factor in deciding where you're going to stay? Apparently the dummies at Home Away don't want anyone to know what I paid. Yo pague entre cinco y seis mil y rente otra casa hace un ano para tres mil quinientos que era mejor valor.

Beautiful House and Amazing Location

We couldn’t be happier with our stay in Grayton at Wayne and Sherri’s home. They were awesome to work with and made the booking process very easy. As others have said, you can truly just show up and start your vacation. They have thought of everything from beach gear to all the items you would need in a kitchen and more. We have stayed in Miramar the past 2 years and we were wanting a quiet neighborhood, a bike path and a less crowded beach. This location did not disappoint! The Gulf Trace neighborhood is like having a private beach. My teens rode their bikes, went kayaking and spent lots of time swimming in the pool when not at the beach. We loved the vibe of the house and it was fun to look at all the creative ways they have decorated their home. We are still talking about the Master bedroom and deck that overlooks the dunes and ocean. The pictures don’t do it it justice. We loved starting and ending our day there. We also made use of the loft sleeping bench when my great niece spent one night with us. She loved the toys that they had as well. Such a great use of space especially if you have a younger child you wanted to have close by. It was special to celebrate the 4th of July in Grayton. They had a fun parade in the morning and watching the fireworks from the beach was awesome! Lots of wonderful memories made and the house and location felt magical with the oak grove path, the dunes, the views and amazing sunsets. We hope to be back. It will be hard to find anything for future vacations to top this house and location. Many thanks, Dave and Carmen

Wonderful family beach week

We have been coming to this area 30+ years and Gulf Trace neighborhood is hands down our favorite. Lamer ByThe Sea is an exceptional beach home. Beautiful setting, well planned with everything you could possibly need. We left today and are already planning another trip.

Grayton Beqch Getaway Home

The owner was so great to work with and quick to respond to any questions we had. The house was beautifully decorated and the views of the dune lakes from master bedroom deck and ocean view from screen porch were amazing. The owner had the house well stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need and the house felt so homey that it was truly hard to leave. We spent an amazing week at LaMer over Thanksgiving! It was my husband and myself, my parents, and our two daughters ages 10 and 11. We have been visiting 30A for years, and we normally stay in Seagrove. We have biked through Gulf Trace and admired at how private and peaceful the neighborhood is. We loved being able to walk to the beach! We rented a golf cart and used it to drive to the food trucks and shops at Seaside, the restaurants near Grayton Beach, and even down to the Donut Hut. The home is beautifully decorated and has EVERYTHING you need for a comfortable vacation that feels like you're truly at home. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen incredibly well stocked, and the decor is just beautiful. We loved the screened porch! The views of the sunrise and sunset from the master bedroom cannot be beat! We are already planning our return trip.
