Great Experience

We came in a few days after a tropical depression came through the Island. The Jekyll Island Realty group communicated daily up to our arrival date to ensure us that the property was safe/clean and that the island still had power etc. The property was top notch and the pool was amazing.

This is a great house, roomy, well equipped kitchen, beautiful pool, instructions posted about garbage, internet, etc. Welcome tote bag on the counter when we arrived. Easy entry and lock up and keys can be returned to drop box in off hours. TVs in bedrooms a plus for us Highly recommend

I can’t say enough good things about Austin Mermaid! We had a wonderful week here. The house is so cute and comfortable and was extremely clean. The kitchen is stocked with pretty much everything you could possibly need. We rented a Red Bug for the week so having a garage where we could keep it charging was fabulous. And the pool!! Absolutely beautiful. We could hear the ocean at night while enjoying a fire in the fire pit. The house is basically one house from the ocean with several beach crossovers in an easy 2-5 minute walk. This part of the island doesn’t have much beach at high tide, so we drove or biked just minutes down the road to other beaches for longer beach time. There’s also lots of beach and pool toys, chairs, etc. in the garage to use. Jekyll Realty was wonderful to work with and was extremely responsive when I called a couple of times asking where to find something. We loved it so much, we’ve already booked a week for next year!

Austin Mermaid was ideal in location, amenities and comforts.Spacious, detailed,bright and airy. Many small things stood out as the owners prepared one for a thoughtful stay.One detail left off their thorough list however,was frustrating. An ultra-basic cable package that allowed only bare bones selections. There was a 2 temperature wine cooler but no Monday Night Football. Every light switch is labeled, there is wonderful art everywhere but no TBS and the National League Championship. People do watch TV and their Roku was an indication they do too. Unfortunately,to stream the above or other options the cable provider must include them in their package which Austin Mermaid didn't. Only drawback for a wonderful stay. Note: upgrade your TV service to make it perfect.

I noticed the rental had recently been upgraded with some new furniture and amenities. Location is perfect within a quiet residential community and came with a pool. The location was close enough to stores, bike rental places and restaurants. It could not have been more perfect for me, my husband, two daughters, a friend and two grandsons. The house was perfect in size, very clean and had all the comforts of home. Will definitely be renting this home again. Pool was clean and inviting. I highly recommend Austin Mermaid.

The inside of the home was great!There were a few things I feel you guys should have told us/ taken care of ahead of time. 1) The parking toll. That was $60 we hadn't figured into our spending budget2) The garage door opener. We found this on our last day. We could have been parking inside.3) The provided water purifier. The water here is atrocious. The purifier made it bearable to use while cooking. We had used countless bottles (horrible for the environment) of water before I found this 5) Operation of the DVD player. We never could find the correct input to get this to work.6) Post this listing as having a wood burning fire pit. We assumed it was gas. Would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could have brought wood with us 7) Same with the grill. We didn't know from the listing if it was gas/ charcoal.8) We had no notice that the beach access for our street was closed. 9) The grill had not been cleaned. It was filthy from the previous tenants use.10) The pool should have been cleaned before our arrival. I booked this house specifically for the pool. I have a 10 year old grandson on vacation with me. He loves to swim. We found 2 used Band-Aids as well as a dead lizard in the pool. I can deal with the lizard, things happen. But two dirty Band-Aids? That is disgusting.11) All of the available outdoor garbage receptacles were over flowing. Garbage collection did come yesterday but they didn't pick up recycling. So, we were forced to put all of our garbage and recyclables in the same cans. We had kept them separated, as we do at home . 12) And lastly, my entire family felt very uneasy coming into a strange home that was unlocked. If you have a family arriving outside of business hours, perhaps a lockbox can be utilized. Send the family the code on the day of arrival and place a key inside. You may know this is a safe neighborhood but we

Property was very inviting, lots of room for the family of six.... location was perfect in a quiet neighborhood, with private pool onsite. Did not disappoint!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed for the week of July 4th and had a great time. The home is centrally located and has a ton of living space. The 3 bedrooms and 2 baths were great and there is also a front room that is like a small den that has a nice sleeper sofa that we used. The large family room and kitchen were perfect. I was a little disappointed that the beach access point at the end of the road was not functional (you could walk a short distance on the wooden dock and had a nice view, but there were no steps down to the beach and it was barricaded to keep you from falling from a great height)
