Villa Poggio le Vignacce - in the heart of Tuscany

Villa Poggio le Vignacce is set on an olive-covered hill in the heart of the Chiana Valley near Marciano della Chiana, an ancient medieval town of historical renown, as it was the site of the Battle of Scannagallo. The villa provides a panorama of the valley, with Cortona, Castiglion Fiorentino and the Montecchio Castle in the distance.
The elegant old villa still conserves signs of its past splendour in the frescos discovered during the recent restoration. There is also a small COTTAGE beside the main building.
The villa is surrounded by a two-hectare garden with meadows, olive trees and a natural wood of ash, oaks and old cypresses. A large swimming pool completes this scenic part of the Chiana Valley.
Ideal for rest and relaxation, the villa is also strategically positioned to reach the most important artistic cities of central Italy: Rome, Florence, Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Siena, Montalcino, Pienza.

More than I ever could've imagined.

I'm not sure where to start except to say I will remember this experience for years to come. I organized a group of us to stay in the villa and celebrate my 40th birthday. We had 6 kids and 11 adults in all and the villa was a wonderful size for us all. The kitchen was a Chefs dream, massive and well stocked with all the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery we needed, plus coffee percolator, toaster, microwave etc. We cooked 3 kg of pasta one night without a hitch, the pot probably could've fit one or two more kilos! The living space was wonderful, enough room for us all to gather inside in case of bad weather, and even has a piano which was a lovely bonus! The pool area and grounds are just breathtaking and include a swing set for the kids and plenty of room to roam and run. But if all the above doesn't convince you, then you will be convinced by Paola, the owner of the villa. She is the most kind, sweet and accommodating woman you'll ever meet. We arranged for catering for 2 days and she and her sister and brother in law pulled out all the stops both days, the food was divine and frankly some of the best I've had in my entire Italian vacation. If I wasn't married I would have my wedding in the villa and have it catered by Paola and her sister. Anything that came up Paola was accessible and came straight away, we felt very cared for. The countryside surrounding the villa is gorgeous and I've no doubt anyone who rents this villa will fall in love with their experience just as I have. Wedding weekend

We rented this property to host our family and friends as we got married in Florence. The villa was absolutely perfect and allowed for our two families to get to know each other for the weekend. The villa was extremely comfortable and spacious, with private bathrooms for everyone. The little casita to the side made for a perfect hideout for newlyweds. Paola and her family were extremely understanding with communication and check-in/checkout. They prepared our dinner the night before the wedding - 4 courses absolutely to die for. Thank you Paola and family for an unforgettable weekend! We’ll be sure to recommend you place to everyone and will try and come back! Julia and Michele

Wonderful week in Tuscany

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Poggio le Vignacce. Paola, the host, was extremely helpful with all our questions. The villa is beautiful with a fully equipped kitchen and we enjoyed cooking together in the evenings. There is a big garden with a swimming pool and we really enjoyed our week in the villa. We hope that we will have the possibility to come back sometime in the future.

Great property for families/groups with/without children. Great location

The original property was built probably in the XIX century and rooms and facilities were added later on. Our group comprised 9 adults and 8 children (aged 5-15). Rooms fully equipped. Superb kitchen (we cooked there daily, either breakfast or dinner, or both). Good barbecue. Sitting for whole group indoors and outdoors. Good swimming pool, especially for children. Huge lawn. Quiet surroundings. Very safe. Relatively close to Florence, Siena, Arezzo and more. Seven km. from A1/A35 motorway. Restaurants near by (we recommend Panificio Menchetti-open from 6 am to 11 pm, with superb (posh!) bakery and pizza and some good hamburgers as well). Paola del Cipolla (contact person) is great. She was very helpful before and during our stay. Answers to mail within 12-24 hours. It's our sixth vacation of this kind (villa hiring) and this one definitely fulfilled our expectations..

Fantastic Villa with beautiful views.

This was our second year at this property. Absolutely stunning. Was everything we remembered from previous year. Paola (the owner) is very helpful and cooks wonderful meals. She cooked for us on our last night. Everythng is spotlessly clean and tidy, pool is cleaned at least every other day. Plenty of space inside and outside. Make sure you have a car to visit all the wonderful towns and villages around the area. Hope to visit again soon.

Perfekt/perfect

Das Ferienhaus ist perfekt, genauso wie beschrieben! Nein eigentlich besser! Es bietet ausreichend Platz und Ausstattung für einen Urlaub einer Großfamilie. Die Einrichtung ist liebevoll wie praktisch und in einem sehr guten Zustand. Das Grundstück von einer Größe, welche man nicht ahnen kann, somit bleiben alle Wünsche mitten in der Toskana erfüllt. Die Lage ist ebenfalls für Tagesreisen nach Arezzo, Siena, Florenz und Perugia optimal. Der sehr große Swimmingpool rundet das Anwesen ab, sodass es nicht langweilig wird. Insbesondere die Großküche, in der man locker für 15 bis 20 Personen kochen kann, ist atemberaubend! Wir waren mit 15 Personen inklusive Kinder dort und wären gerne länger geblieben. Danke an Frau de Cipolla für die perfekte Einführung und Hilfe! The house is perfect , exactly as described ! No, actually better! It offers enough space and amenities for a holiday of a large family . The decor is lovely as is practical and in a very good condition . The size of the location can not be guessed , so all requests in the middle of Tuscany remain fulfilled . The location is also ideal for day trips to Arezzo , Siena , Florence and Perugia . The very large swimming pool completes the property , so it is never boring . In particular, the large kitchen where you can cook easy for 15 to 20 people , is breathtaking ! We were with 15 people including children there and wished that we could stay longer. Thanks to the owners for this perfect house.

Villa Poggio le Vignacce, non c'è luogo migliore come questa villa per passare un po di tempo libero con amici/famiglie. Gli spazi sono ben suddivisi, i servizi sono ottimi e la parte esterna della casa è da incanto. È stata una bellissima esperienza, sicuramente da rifare.

Settimana fantastica

È la seconda volta che veniamo e ci siamo trovati sempre meglio. Il casale è fatto benissimo e dispone di tutti i confort. In ogni camera ci sta un bagno. Siamo stati in altri casali e questo è stato sicuramente il migliore. Il grande giardino che circonda la casa è ben curato. Non ci sono stati aspetti negativi della vacanze e in particolare del casale. La signora proprietaria del casale è stata disponibilissima e gentilissima, mostrandosi reperibile a qualsiasi ora per qualsiasi dubbio o chiarimento. Sicuramente riprenderemo i considerazione il casale per le nostre prossime vacanze.

un posto meraviglioso!

abbiamo passato la settimana di capodanno in questa villa fantastica con un gruppo di amici. Vorremmo ringraziare la Sig.ra Paola che è riuscita a sistemarci anche se eravamo oltre il numero massimo consentito! La villa è facilmente raggiungibile da Roma e, pur trovandosi in una posizione tranquilla, con un grande parco recintato, è vicina al paese, dove si trovano supermercati, bar, bancomat e ristoranti. Tutto molto comodo. Strada asfaltata e ben tenuta fino all'ingresso della villa. Le stanze sono bellissime e comode, ognuna con il suo bagno. Pulizia impeccabile! Al piano terra ci sono due cucine di cui una professionale e completamente attrezzata, dove siamo riusciti a preparare comodamente i pasti per 25 persone. Salone molto grande con bellissimo camino e legna a disposizione degli ospiti. Molto comoda anche la sala da pranzo. Insomma, tutto perfetto! Grazie ancora alla Sig.ra Paola e a suo marito che sono stati davvero gentilissimi e sempre pronti a soddisfare le nostre richieste, oltre a darci preziosi consigli su ristornati, macellerie e pasticcerie... Appena avremo occasione torneremo sicuramente a Villa Poggio Le Vignacce e la consigliamo a tutti!
