About this property
Kayaks, eagles, seals all with a private beach and cottage on the Ocean!
Secluded, oceanfront cottage on Cobscook Bay with spectacular views on ten wooded acres. Large skipping stone beach, ideal for ocean kayaking. Abundant animal wildlife, huge Bay of Fundy influenced tides (20 plus feet), great stone fireplace, and large kitchen woodstove. Third bedroom is loft with three double beds and a double futon. Outdoor porch, great for relaxing and viewing nature at its best. (We often see bald eagles and seals). Public boat access ramp within one-quarter mile of the cottage.
We often alternate between relaxing days at the cottage and easy day trips to Eastport, Maine (the easternmost City in the United States), Saint Andrews, Canada (a beautiful coastal town reminiscent of Bar Harbor, Maine 40 years ago, with an excellent Golf Course - St Andrews by the Sea) and Campobello Island, Canada (see link below) - summer home of Franklin Roosevelt, great beaches and bike trails, excellent Golf course - Herring Cove. Deep sea fishing and whale watching tours out of Eastport with Eastport Windjammers Keywords: Cottage

This is our third stay at this property, and it’s one of our favorite places on Earth! We spent most of the week just relaxing, spending time out on the porch and searching the beach for sea glass. We can’t wait to come back next year!
We’ve been going to this area for many years - this cabin is perfect. Rustic, relaxing, a beautiful view. We kayaked on sunny days, had a fire in the cabin during the rainy days. Such a great spot on the bay!
We love the private location of this house with a view of Cobscook Bay and a private beach on a cove. It’s a super spot for birding and watching seals. We enjoyed the fireplace on cool nights and the moon over the bay. We made several trips to Eastport and to a number of the Cobscook Shores preserves. We highly recommend this house for a special private vacation.Caryn, the property manager, was very responsive to any questions we had.
The location is spectacular and the view stunning, we enjoyed the kayaking and the patio. The cabin itself was a bit of a disappointment, far more rustic than the pictures indicate. Place needs some TLC, and a thorough cleaning, and the beds were super uncomfortable.
This is our third stay in a gorgeous spot with almost absolute privacy, We enjoyed bird watching, meet and greet with the neighborhood seals and fires in the fireplace. This is the true camp experience.
This is our second visit to this location and we were as equally please as the first time. If you are looking for a rustic, cozy, quiet cottage with a fantastic view of the ocean and a private beach, this is the place to be. We certainly appreciated the internet upgrade and new mattresses from the last time we stayed. Thanks for allowing us to stay!
This is a truly beautiful location for a Maine camp house set on a bluff with views that are ever changing and wonderful! We stayed here a few years ago and were thrilled to be back. The porch and little patio are peaceful and serene. Thank you Caryn for being so easy to contact and responsive too!

Wonderful. Very isolated and private. Easy access to the beach. My husband did swim almost every day. One could spend all the time on the balcony, watching hummingbirds, seals and cormorants on a tidal island and occasionally swimming close to the beach, flying eagles and a heron, lobster boats, amazing views. The driveway to the house from the (unpaved) road seemed scaringly steep at first, but the car managed fine.Great vacation. Check in simple, directions provided. WiFi worked excellently.

Great place and loved the improvements, but if you have a pet friendly rental please make sure guests clean up after them .
Oceanfront Cottage is the absolute perfect place for a family to spend a week relaxing and unplugging. The photos don’t do this place justice... it’s a million times better! We loved searching the beach for treasures, watching the seals, and just relaxing in on the porch and in the hammocks. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need, and if it’s not there, you don’t need it. We enjoyed nightly fires down on the beach or in the fireplace, and waking up to the ocean breezes. The only complaint was the week was too short!

A great getaway!
My family and I were looking to travel somewhere different to get away from all the modern technology we have become obsessed with using daily. This was just perfect. The views of the bay were to die for! There were so many seals and my German short haired pointer loved every moment of it. The house was just as described and so comfortable. The drive in to Eastport was very scenic and the people were all so friendly. We went to Rays Mustard House, the wildlife preserve, and just all around the area. The water was if course very cold but we didn't let that stop us from enjoying it. We definitely would recommend this place.
Loved our stay at this little gem. The location couldn’t have been better as we were looking for a private spot with not a lot of noise and a beautiful pristine setting which this ticked all the boxes. The house is well equipped with everything you might need. Pet friendly our dog loved it. Super quiet. At certain times of the year having four-wheel-drive would be helpful as the driveway going up in spots is steep. We saw eagles, hummingbirds, seals and very few people which was exactly what we were looking for. The view is just amazing. We hope to go back again… Response from the property manager was quick and very helpful. Don’t miss lobster at Betty’s. We did a lot of traveling while there using the house as homebase. We went to Ministers Island, which if you have a chance don’t miss… Into Canada a couple of times. Just a wonderful week.
The cottage is very private and isolated. It needed to be cleaner. Cobwebs everywhere and it is musty smelling. I think all of the quilts on the beds Could use a good washing along with the curtains. Too many old books everywhere. It looks like some of them have been there as long as the cabin Has and when you moved some of the books silverfish bugs would crawl out of them. The view is absolutely beautiful, The fireplace was very nice. There is not a lot to do there but it is close to go into town. We played cards and did use the kayaks, it was also nice to have Internet access to be able to watch movies/ TV on our phones. Overall we enjoyed this day.

I'm sorry it wasn't clean enough@ past few Saturdays. AND thank you for bringing this to my qttentionw11.
We enjoyed our stay in this rustic little cottage. The location was amazing sitting right on the edge of the water and so wonderfully isolated. The beach below was so fun to explore. We found sea glass and pretty shells everyday. The cottage itself was very comfortable with mismatched rustic furniture that blended together perfectly. We loved having fires in the fireplace and sitting on the covered porch watching the bald eagles and visiting hummingbirds. We visited the towns of Eastport, Lubec, Campobello Island and Saint Andrew while we were there. Eastport has a great grocery store if you need supplies while you are there. Bring binoculars if you have them! The only reason I am giving this property less than 5 stars is that it needs a deep cleaning. There was dust "bunnies" under the beds, beside furniture, etc and numerous old cobwebs. The collectables throughout the cottage were also in need of dusting. I also recommend that a working smoke/CO2 alarm be installed. Thank you again for allowing us to stay in such a special place!
We loved our stay at this little gem. The description is spot-on. It has a very loved old family summer cabin vibe. We loved having coffee and cocktails on the incredible porch watching the wildlife and ever-changing landscape, and listening to the water lap below us just a few feet away. You can literally hear the flapping wings of eagles as they fly by. It’s also a glorious spot for watching the moon set. Having the private beach was incredible. We sat for hours just reading, fishing, and watching seals, eagles, and birds. We had our 3 dogs with us and they adored just wandering and exploring. You could stay at the cottage and never see a human being with the exception of one or two boats that go by. There is almost no boat traffic so it is incredibly quiet. Eastport is just a short 20 minute drive, where you can find a grocery store, restaurants, boat excursions and lovely galleries. The little kitchen is modest but has everything you need. We cooked all but one meal there and wanted for nothing. Find Betty’s Crabs just down the road!!! We made a feast of lobster, crabs, and scallops one night. Her prices were fantastic and the quality was excellent. She also has fresh eggs! Hopefully the new grill will be set up soon. It’s the only thing we wished we had.
We had a wonderful vacation here. Such beautiful views and so quiet and relaxing!! Bald eagles flew right by the balcony within feet of us. Our dogs had an amazing adventures and hiking all over the area. The beach front is huge and so much fun to explore!! Wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
The unique location by the water offers privacy, and immerses you in Maine shoreline life. We saw seals, had a bald eagle fly by the porch and enjoyed many hours on our own beach.
We have stayed here at least ten times. We love the peace, privacy, views, and porch sitting. Our dogs love the beach. There’s wonderful seafood nearby, we had fresh lobster and crab. The house wasn’t very well cleaned when we arrived, that’s a first, but I’m sure that can be remedied.
We have been coming to Pembroke for 40+ years and love the quietnesses and remoteness of it. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed to accommodate all 5 of us. We will be rebooking next season.
