Spent 3 nights in this cottage which is better than the photos! It is tucked away in a tiny hamlet but close enough to the main road to make it easily accessible. The attention to detail was superb.
The small fenced garden next to the cottage is perfect for dogs ((and their owners) and we were even paid a visit by the woodpecker amongst other birds.
Many a happy hour could be idled away just relaxing at the cottage, if so inclined.
Definitely a five star stay.

Beautiful little cottage
We wanted somewhere peaceful and cozy to crash out for a few days R&R and Cavendish Cottage was perfect. Quiet secluded location, yet less than 10 minutes drive from Matlock. Plenty of good pubs and a farm shop within a couple of minutes drive. The cottage is very well equipped and we lacked for nothing. Good quality beds and bedding. Great communication with the owners before and during our stay and although they live next door and were in hand if we needed anything, they were very discreet and totally respected our privacy. We were sad to leave and hope to return soon

Superbly appointed cottage in a fantastic location
From the moment we arrived we couldn't be anything more than mightily impressed. We had booked to stay over Xmas and the first thing we saw through the patio doors as we pulled up to the cottage was a beautifully decorated and lit Xmas tree, which was a very thoughtful thing for our hosts, Helen and Andy, to have done. Once we were inside we realised there were other Xmas decorations around that made it really special. The cottage has a real homely feel to it but the added extras made it perfect.
The cottage itself is stunning, outside and inside, and is more spacious and well appointed than the photos on the website suggest. It is also in a great location, with a real countryside feel but not that far from main routes across Derbyshire and Notts.
Helen and Andy were my version of ideal hosts, in that they were readily available if required but completely respected our privacy during our stay.
We loved our stay at the cottage and only wished we could have stayed longer. I'm pretty certain we will be back again!!

It's really great to have feedback like this, thank you so much.
This is a lovely cottage tucked away in Derbyshire. The cottage is lovely and cosy and very well equipped. The open plan downstairs makes it ideal for families to spend time together. There are 2 bedrooms each well appointed en-suite bathrooms. Ideally located for some nice walks. All in all excellent
Can’t recommend Cavendish cottage enough. It is decorated and equipped to a very high standard creating a very comfortable place to come back to after a day out exploring. Helen is a fab host who always responds to questions and queries quickly and is really helpful. Location is perfect within easy walking distance of Ashover which boasts 3 excellent pubs, we tried them all! Also great walks starting at the front door which is refreshing. Matlock is a lovely little town providing you with everything you might need and more and we enjoyed a fab walk to Chatsworth estate. We were a party of 2 couples and found Cavendish absolutely perfect for our needs
Sehr schönes Cottage in wundebarer Landschaft. Ruhig gelegen, aber doch günstig um die Sehenswürdigkeiten im Peak District zu entdecken. Sehr freundliche Vermieter, die gleich nebenan wohnen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!
Cavendish cottage was so much more than I expected. From the thoughtful welcome package through to the luxury bathrooms. I couldn’t have asked for better. A big thumbs up to Helen.
The cleanest, most comfortable, and most conveniently positioned cottage that we have stayed in. Couldn’t praise the owners enough!!

Absolutely stunning!
The whole experience from initial enquiry, deposit payment, final payment, key & direction details to actual arrival has been seamless. Helen was very prompt with any enquiries too.
The cottage was absolutely spotless and very tastefully and peacefully decorated.
All paved the way for a very enjoyable, restfully girlie weekend with my family.
Thank you for the chocolates and gift pen.
Perfectly located for easy access to the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show
Will definitely book again.
Only sorry we had to leave before time as we had work on Monday.
Thank you Helen!
Had a brilliant week here. Very comfortable in every conceivable way and the owners are lovely and so accommodating. Will be booking again for next year. Thank you for the welcome pack!

Outstanding
Everything about this booking and experience was perfect.
We wanted somewhere to stay where we could take the dogs and provide our daughter with a retreat from her university studies. So could not believe our luck when this came up in our searches.
Communication with the owner were quick, efficient and friendly. The booking process via Home and Away was easy and the pricing good value for money.
Sat Nav guided us in and with the owners instructions, finding the property was easy. It is set well off the main road and is so quiet and peaceful.
The cottage itself is superb. The owners taste in finishing and furnishing is quality. We wanted for nothing. There were also some nice finishing touches like welcome messages, tea, coffee, shower gels etc that made it even more perfect.
While there the Owners are attentive and ever so friendly. If you like walking you are surrounded by farms and public footpaths. Scenery is fantastic.
If you want shops - there about 15 minutes away. As is Bakewell if you fancy some tarts.
As our daughter is in Sheffield (40 mins) we will most definitely be back.
Thanks Helen.

Fantastic property in quiet location
Cavendish cottage is as good as the photographs you see on line. The cottage has been finished to a high standard and is probably one of the best we as a family have stayed in. You are tucked down a single track lane with farms and fields all around. Walkable distance is the local pub (not to our taste) and a local farm shop. Further afield the local village of ashovercwith three pubs two of which we tried the black swan and the old poets corner. We didn’t manage to go on the many walks suggested in the information folder in the cottage as I was unwell for the duration of the stay. Owner replies swiftly and all communication was clear during the whole process. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage. Owners are not intrusive but are next door should you need them.

Superb accommodation
The pictures of Cavendish Cottage are exactly what you get, everywhere spotlessly clean, and furnished to a very high standard.
The countryside around is stunning and there are numerous walks from the door. In addition there is a very good bus service from the end of the lane. Our hosts were available if needed. We could find no fault with this cottage.

An excellent holiday in a wonderful property. Great facilities, very clean and well equipped.
My wife and I, our daughter and fiancée and their dog stayed here for a week from 15/09/18. The two bedrooms both had very good en-suites making the accommodation very convenient for two couples. The kitchen was fully equipped and spotlessly clean. The dining area was spacious with a large table and chairs. Under floor heating throughout was easily adjustable and the log burner would be a bonus in colder months. Our dog loved the small enclosed garden. A very peaceful location but close enough to main routes (but not within earshot) to make visiting Peak District attractions easy. Wonderful cottage in great area of the UK. Will definitely consider returning in the future.

Fantastic cottage
What a fantastic place to stay to explore the Peak District. The cottage has absolutely everything you could ask for from nice comfortable beds and crisp linen to games to play whilst chilling with a nice bottle of wine. The surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful and there is so much to do and see in the Peak District.

Relaxing, comfortable,an ideal retreat!
Cavendish cottage provided an excellent base for us to explore Derbyshire for a few days. We visited Pooles Cavern & Buxton Country Park, Chatsworth House, Bolsover Castle and hired bicycles to ride on the Monsal bicycle trail. Supermarkets and pubs are within a short drive. We ate at Gate Inn in Tansley and the Old Poets Corner in Ashover and the Indian takeaway delivered to us at the cottage. We also visited the Black Swan for drinks. All were good. The cottage facilities were excellent. We had everything we needed in a beautiful location. Thank you!

We highly recommend this property and look forward to visiting again! Thanks again to Helen and Andy who were excellent hosts.
