We had a great stay over the Labor Day weekend. The setting was scenic and quiet but still convenient to amenities in Sturgeon Bay. Families with young kids will LOVE the pond on the property with lots of fish and kayaks.
our stay was wonderful! So much for the kids to do, the pond behind the house with kayaks and paddle boats were our favorite. Will definitely come and stay again!

This was our first time using VRBO. Unsure of what to do throughout the process and site is not very user friendly. Communication confusion a couple of times with our contact person. I also received an extra bill after and tried to communicate with him as to what it was for and no response.
The property was spacious and right on the water with the bay out the back door and a lovely spring fed pond in the front. Our host, Bill, was out and about now and then so it was easy to chat with him instead of calling about general questions. We had seven adults and three teenagers and everyone had a wonderful time. My grandsons were totally all about the fishing and my granddaughter enjoyed the shopping and sightseeing. The lavender farm was a favorite and included a fun ferry ride. Some of the family went to the local gocart track and enjoyed those activities. Having the entertaining games in the basement was very cool. It was great to have a nice big kitchen table where we could eat together and also have family cards and games in the evening. For me, as the senior family member, just hearing my kids and grands laughing, talking, and just enjoying our time is the reason we do these yearly trips. Bill made this one one of the best. For me, sitting outside first thing in the morning with coffee and quiet was a recharge I needed! Thanks, Bill, for everything! The Hartzells and the rest of the family!
Beautiful view of the bay. The swimming pond was a wonderful part of our stay. Bill supplied many floating devices that we used to relax with in the pond.
The house was great and just as described. Even in October my boys had a blast swimming in the pond! William was helpful and responsive and even looked for a missing item after we left!! Would for sure stay again and would love to visit in warmer months for more swimming and boating
The property was perfect for our family of 15! We loved the private beach especially the kids. The pontoon ride was great as we went to some beautiful beaches in
We had the best time staying at the North Unit. William was a great host and so accommodating. The private pond provided hours of entertainment for our family as did the fire pit, back patio and games around the dining room table. We had everything we needed. Thanks William! We hope to be able to visit you again some day.
Great place to stay! The grandkids loved swimming in the pond and the older kids/adults enjoyed fishing right out the back door. The home was beautiful and clean, and was located at the end of a quiet road so we felt safe and secluded. I would definitely recommend to families!
We had a wonderful family vacation over the 4th of July! We watch fireworks from the boat in Sturgeon Bay, made s’more by the fire, kayak on the lake and explored the beauty of Door County. Bill the host was amazing and so helpful, doesn’t get any better than Bill. The cute dogs were a bonus for our kiddos!
We had an amazing 5 day stay at this property, Bill the property manager was there when we arrived & lived close by to the home and responded immediately to any questions or issues we had. The "pond" was the biggest hit with the kids, they loved swimming, fishing, kayaking, etc., & the home itself was large enough to accommodate our family. We would absolutely stay at this property again! So much to do in the Door County area is another bonus to this location!!
I was in the area several months before our rental time, and Bill was kind enough to let me see the property inside and out just so I could get a feel for it. Very nice of him and really helped our planning. We celebrated our 50th anniversary there with all of our kids and grandchildren and had a fantastic time… We enjoyed Canoes and kayaks in the pond, we used the fire pit every night and really loved the Blackstone Grill! We loved the inside of the house especially for a big group of various ages. Highly recommend this property!
This was the perfect stay for our family. Bill was amazing! He was friendly and available. He was also really helpful in terms of activities for the kids. He took us out for the fireworks on his boat, and it was absolutely amazing. The house and property are in perfect location with plenty to do and plenty of space. We recommend this house for a fantastic summer getaway.
William was very helpful! He came over quickly to help with issues such as the air conditioning and broken door handle. He even delivered fire wood for the fire pit! We would love to stay again and try William's half of the duplex! He was great to work with!

Thanks for coming you people were great. You cleaned up very well too.
Beautiful well placed on water. Swimming pond with fish to catch and release. Lots of amenities. We had 4 individuals that were on a work vacation. The internet was practically non existent making it difficult to work remotely.
This is not a good area for fishing and not ideal for tubing or skiing due to large boats going through the channel to Lake Michigan. To get to the best fishing you need to go through about 2 miles of no wake area through the town.
Also the swimming pond had blue die in it which was a little concerning. There were some repairs and replacements needed which in my opinion should not be the case for a rental charging as much per night as this one did. All that being said, we did enjoy the property and had a good time as a family.

Hi Wayne ,Thank you for giving me a four-star review of Port Haven . I have to disagree about the fishing and the boating on the Sturgeon Bay channel. We have one of the top 5 bass fishing spots in the United States .AS for water skiing ,this is an excellent site to water ski . Yes there are big boats that go by put that happens on every body of water. As for the blue dye in the pond , that is to help keep the weeds down and its safe for small children and people to swim in . As for the repairs, I came and put in a new light bulb in the refrigerator as you requested. You also requested i put new batteries in the clock which i did. If there were any other repairs you did no mention them at the time ,Thanks for coming ,. Iam glad you and your family enjoyed your time at [Port Haven. Thank you Bill

We are natives to Door County who are good friends of the former owner of this property, when his cottage was damaged in a fire we joined up together and started construction of the two units on this 3 acre plot.
Why they chose this property
For 10 years we've been coming to sturgeon bay for anything from snowmobiling to fishing or just relaxing by the fire on the beach; its on the end od a road in a private setting with three other homes ; there' water in front and back, the bay out front and a beach on the pond in back; swimming or boating all around you.
