Perfect spot for a Lake Orta holiday

The apartment is charming and in the most beautiful spot with views over the island and swimming in the lake from the garden. Stefano could not have been more helpful and provided extensive information to cover every aspect of our stay. The apartment is only a 5 minute walk from the town. No aircon but Stefano provided us with fans to cool us at night. We loved our time in Orta - it is a very special place indeed.

Lovely stay

We had a lovely stay by Lake Orta. The apartment is in a fantastic location and it is easy to walk to a range of restaurants/ cafes and kayak/ paddleboard hire. The apartment on the second floor is well equiped, clean and full of character. I would note that it is not self enclosed. Some of the rooms (one bedroom, one toilet and the kitchen) open onto a landing which the owner's adult children and their friend needed to walk through to reach the room they were staying in the floor above. This was a bit of a surprise but they were very polite and not at all intrusive. The garden is lovely looking over the lake but as stated shared with other residents so could feel a bit busy on occasion. It was great having a garage directly across from the apartment, particularly one with an EV charger.We had some nice days out with our teenage children at the nearby alpine rollercoaster (Alpyland) and hiring a boat from Explora Beach, both of which we would recommend. Overall we had a great stay and Stefano and his family were lovely hosts.

Ein Garten direkt am Seeufer praktisch zur alleinigen Benutzung (im Parerre wohnt die Mutter des Gastgebers, im 1. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt von Anfang an genossen. Das Haus liegt super direkt am See und fußläufig zur Altstadt. Mit dem Vermieter sind wir von Beginn an sehr gut klar gekommen. Leben mit dem Besonderem

Wir (2 Paare) haben die Woche in diesem wunderbaren Anwesen direkt am Meer sehr genossen. Das fing damit an, dass wir nach der langen Autofahrt unser Glück gar nicht glauben konnten, dass wir wirklich direkt aus dem Garten in noch schnell in den See hüpfen konnten, um dann die letzten Sonnenstrahlen auf den schönen Liegestühlen zu genießen. Stephano ist ein aufmerksamer und dabei sehr entspannter Vermieter. Wir fühlten uns direkt willkommen. Das alte Haus ist sorgfältig renoviert und hat dabei seinen Charme behalten. Das zur Wohnung offene Treppenhaus war für uns kein Problem, dazu ist es viel zu schön.Die Lage ist kaum zu übertreffen und mit der Garage auch mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen. Abends am See essen, danach vielleicht noch die paar Schritte Piazza flanieren, vielleicht noch bis zum kleinen Platz dahinter, wo es das beste Eis gibt. Danke für den tollen Aufenthalt und den Einblick in die Geschichte des Hauses.

Entspannung und Erholung im Haus am See

Es war eine besondere Urlaubswoche - als ob uns gute Freunde ihr altes Haus überlassen hätten, um es zu hüten und die wunderbar ruhige und friedliche Atmosphäre zu genießen, in großzügigen, stilvoll eingerichteten Wohnräumen, mit herrlicher Aussicht auf den See, von oben aus den Fenstern oder vom Garten aus. Als direkten Zugang zum See wählten wir die Stufen im alten Bootshaus (ohne Boot aber gelegentlich besucht von Entenfamilien) und ignorierten die Stühle vor den Pfosten des Terrassengeländers auf dem Bootshaus, von denen aus wir wohl auch einen Sprung ins erfrischende Wasser hätten wagen können. Angenehm ist es, über den modernen Komfort zu verfügen, der in dem alten Haus wie beschrieben bereitsteht. Trotz der Ruhe ist die zentrale Piazza Motta in wenigen Schritten erreichbar, Spaziergänge auf der Halbinsel, auf Uferwegen oder etwa hinauf auf den Sacro Monte di Orta startet man bequem vom Haus aus. Für größere Ausflüge, Einkäufe und die An- und Abreise ist die Garage direkt gegenüber vom Haus ein großes Plus, um das man erkennbar beneidet wird.

Historisches Gemäuer am See mit Charakter. Zauberhafte Gastgeber, sehr responsiv und korrekt. Wunderbare Lage und Blicke auf den See und die Isola. Unkomplizierte Ausstattung, aber tolle Details. Alles funktionierte. Als Kochfreunde haben wir die prima Küchenausstattung geschätzt. Die Garage unmittelbar gegenüber war willkommen. Vielen Dank, Stefano, wir kommen überaus gern zurück!

What a beautiful place! Everything about Orta is amazing and this house was more than we expected. Private access to the lake to swim and a garage opposite for a small car. Our host Stefano was always available if we needed anything and Mara (his cleaner) made check in and check out simple.

Schöne alte Villa mit privatem Seezugang

Für uns stimmte alles, der See vom Garten jederzeit und direkt zu erreichen und das Ortszentrum gleich um die Ecke. Die Wohnung war auch wunderbar! Was manche(n) vielleicht irritieren könnte (für uns war es ok): Die obere Wohnung ist zum Treppenhaus hin offen, also nicht eigens abschließbar. Das könnte vielleicht noch deutlicher herausgestellt werden, insbesondere so lange Corona noch ein Gesundheitsrisiko darstellt. Und eine gewisse Offenheit für die Begegnung mit anderen Gästen setzt dieser Zustand ja stets voraus. Während unseres Aufenthalts - und das ist wohl häufig so - waren wir allerdings allein im Haus und konnten Garten und See nur für uns genießen. Purer Luxus. Ach ja, noch ein Hinweis für Bahnreisende: Orta hat unglaublicherweise keinen eigenen Supermarkt, nicht einmal einen ernst zu nehmenden "Tante-Emma-Laden". Frische Lebensmittel können im Ort selbst nur sehr eingeschränkt erworben werden, für einen längeren Aufenthalt muss daher eigentlich zunächst ein Einkauf mit KfZ in einer der benachbarten Ortschaften erledigt werden, alles andere wird schwierig... Bei allen Fragen zu solchen und anderen Themen kann man aber einfach den sehr freundlichen Vermieter Stefano ansprechen, der auch perfekt deutsch spricht - wir danken herzlich für die Gastfreundschaft!

charmantes Haus, tolle Lage

Wir waren 3 Wochen im Juni dort und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter ist unkompliziert und sehr nett, die Wohnung ist super ausgestattet und charmant, der Stellplatz in der Garage gegenübender war perfekt, der Garten ist schön und mit Schattenplatz, unmittelbar und jederzeit schwimmen gehen können war einfach toll, das Wasser tiefpetrolblau, sauber und weich. Wir haben wunderschöne Wanderungen gemacht, oft sehr einsam, mit weitem schönen Blick, zauberhaft blühende Bergwiesen. An den Wochenenden war es deutlich voller (im Städtchen, in den Bergen, auf dem Wasser viele Motorboote). Die Wohnung ist zum Treppenhaus hin offen, das ist speziell, hat uns aber nicht gestört, weil wir Glück hatten und die Mieter aus dem ersten Stock in der Zeit nicht da waren. Wir hatten eine richtig gute Zeit und kommen sicher wieder.

A beautiful apartment with direct access to lake and Orta San Giulio

We had a very enjoyable week at this property in August with my husband and 7 year old son. The apartment is beautiful if not modern, big, with all mod cons, also with some toys and balance boards, with stunning views and direct access to the lake and the town. The neighbours downstairs who stayed a few days were friendly, and our children became friends. A garage was available, which is a must in Orta San Giulio. Stefano was an extremely helpful host, with quick responses to any queries and great instructions and a friendly attitude. Definitely recommend.
