Cozy Cabin with beautiful Bay View

The 'Retro Retreat' is a 1 bedroom, 500 square foot lower level apartment with a beautiful view of Netarts Bay. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and there is a comfy futon out in the living room. There is Wifi and cable TV, so you can stay connected while on vacation. The living room/dining area has a flat screen Smart TV that has streaming capabilities. There is plenty of room to park your truck and boat and also a convenient outdoor fish cleaning station. The fire pit in the yard is a great gathering spot and has a gorgeous view of the Bay! Also, the upstairs unit is available to rent as well! There are 2 separate entrances and would be perfect for 2 couples traveling together or a family with older kids that want to have their own space. Ask for details!


** Note: Up to 2 dogs are welcome to come! There is a $30 pet fee for the additional cleaning required after your departure.
** Note: Your nightly rate includes damage insurance should anything accidentally break or get ruined during your stay.
** Note: I send out a rental acknowledgment to sign electronically after a booking is made. It is very straightforward and simple, but if you would like a copy of the contract beforehand, just let me know! :-)

So cozy!

It was a cabin like experience for sure! Very cozy and intimate spot with great views. Supplied with all the utensils you could need to cook a nice romantic dinner while watching the waves !!

Small but met our needs. Owner needs to supply a blanket. Had plenty of sheets and towels but no blankets. Other than that kitchen was well stocked. Nice to have a washer and dryer.

Nice cozy stay, no easy beach access

We had a nice time staying here- very cozy getaway for my husband and I. Tv was great and heaters worked well. VERY hot water! A couple things to be aware of that I didn’t realize from the listing- the close water access from the house is to a boat dock on the bay. Great if you want to go crabbing! But to get to the regular beach is a 10-15 minute walk, and you need to go back to the highway then turn down another road. We were also asked a sign a third party waiver which was fine, but I always prefer to know about that before booking a listing.

We had to use the pull-out couch for sleeping and it's outdated, uncomfortable, and very lumpy. The kitchen was great, had everything we needed, and the bathroom was sufficient. The shower stall was very small and located outside the bathroom in the laundry room. The location was nice, right along the water, quiet, and peaceful.

Pacific Northwest bucket list trip

OMG! 5 stars isn't enough! This cottage was amazing! We had such a wonderful time! Everywhere we looked, there was another delightful detail . . . binoculars, fancy teas, games, charming decorations . . . Sarah was so kind to come out when we couldn't figure out how to use the DVD player (user error!) The views were SPECTACULAR! We walked along the beach every day, even in the snow! And you should SEE the place in the snow! WOW! I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this property and the views and privacy it provided compared to some of the other choices in the area. We found it a great value and enjoyed our stay, but the owners need to do some basic maintenance to make this place more functional as a VRBO. For example, the freezer was not working and only one burner on the stove functioned. The shower is not comfortable for anyone over 5ft tall (could easily be fixed by purchasing a $20 extender from home depot) and some patio furniture would have been great. The property manager Monica is very accommodating and professional. We would love to stay here again provided the above improvements are made.

TV needs work/replacing

We have one complaint. The TV was nearly impossible to use. There are 5 different remotes and the instructions about how to use any of them don’t match the remotes. We just wanted to look at some news a couple times and we couldn’t even get the TV to come on, There was no channel guide to find anything. We called the host who came over and got the TV to come on finally but then there was no MSNBC news channel - only strange choices. The TV situation was very frustrating for us.

The place is cute, well equipped and has a beautiful view of the bay. Things you’ll want to know: I don’t advise anyone taller than 5’10” to stay here. The ceilings are very low and the shower is very petite. If you are planning a romantic time, just know that the bed is VERY creeky and loud. Also, there was no key in the lock box only a key pad on the door, which we couldn’t figure out how to lock again when we were coming and going. So it’s cute, it’s quaint and very peaceful overall.

Roadtrip

This place was everything i was hoping for. Was very comfortable and our view was great. Perfect location away from town but close enough to explore the surrounding beautiful area of Cape Meares and local creameries. Definitely a place we'd come back to.

This is not true, they rent out the 2nd floor to a different party. The description states if you have more family, there is space available on 2nd floor you can rent. It never says anything about a completely different group! I definitely would not of rented it if I knew that. Complete false advertising!

Loved the unit. So cute and well equipped. The front deck was so nice for taking in the beautiful view. The fold out sofa was lumpy so I didn’t try to use it as a bed, (snoring). The bed was very comfortable. We had a great stay!

Unexpected Adventures in Clamming

We had originally come to the coast for hiking and whale watching but due to the cloudiness, we had to get creative. My husband, our puppy, and myself instead opted for clamming, renting tools from the Netarts Garden RV Park. Though mucky and chilly (and our lack of proper attire) we met so many kind and helpful locals, and we were able to harvest a few clams, cockles, and gapers. Though cleaning them was a quite intricate process, they all went very well in a beurre blanc sauce. The accommodations were very cozy and the view from the deck was beautiful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It really was a lovely spot and a cozy place with a great view. There was a great kitchen with lots of essential spices and such. The not smoking rule seemed fine, until we were there and didn't want to go out on the street to smoke pot- which is illegal and there really is plenty of property to smoke on the safety of the property and far away from the building. It felt unsafe and inappropriate to have to smoke on the street. The other bummer is the fire pit, which is awesome to have, but would have been so much more pleasant without a blinding spot light in the yard.
