About this property

Historic District Cottage on East Jones Street!

This authentic historic cottage is beautifully updated and preserved for the comfort of modern day guests. This block of Jones Street has on-street free parking. 4 adults max are allowed here per City Ordinance and 1 child or teen can fit in this house comfortably as an extra guest (children do not count in the ordinance capacity). We have 1 Queen, 1 King and 1 sleeper sofa.

Located on 'the prettiest street in town', Jones Street which is central to the many tourist attractions of the Landmark Historic District and walkable to everything. The northern boundary of the Historic District (River Street) is half a mile away heading north. The southern end of the Historic district (Forsyth Park) is half a mile away heading south.

A King bedroom and a Queen bedroom are side by side. French doors with heavy privacy curtains on both sides of the glass separate the bedrooms. Families can open the curtains & doors to adjoin the rooms if desired. The newly renovated bathroom is located off the kitchen for equal access to both bedrooms. A pullout Queen sofa is in the Living Room. Full size washer and dryer. Parking is on-street and does not require a permit or decal (public parking is free here) as this street is not metered.

Household trash goes in the back alley, into the green plastic City of Savannah carts on wheels. DO NOT USE THE LITTER BIN on the front sidewalk or the neighbor will report us for a citation

Please hand wash any pots/pans/dishes. Do not leave a sink full of dirty dishes for the housekeeper to wash. You can leave cleaned dishes drying, she will put them away

Leave the thermostat on a reasonable setting for the season (Auto Cool 77 for summer, Auto heat 64 for winter, etc).

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

There is no refund of your initial booking payment. If you cancel before your balance is due you will not be charged the balance

Owners agent very responsive. Within one hr of being notified of a repair need they had a repair man on site. Repair to the AC unit was completed promptly with no interruption to my trip. Would book again. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Very pleased with my stay.

Location location location! Loved being away just far enough away from the tourist attractions but close enough to easily walk there. Didn’t have to pay to park anywhere because we walked! My 10 & 13 year old were able to keep up and appreciated the location too. The prettiest street at an attainable price. The rooms were tight but very usable. Wish the patio/garden was cleaner so we could have enjoyed it.

I chose Savannah because of the big city feel of the events and tourist traffic combined with a small town sense of knowing people everywhere I go and the relatively tiny one-square mile walkable downtown Historic District area. I love the familiarity of everything combined with the constant influx of new energy from the college and the visitors from all over the world.

This historic railroad worker cottage compound is located on a block of Jones Street where I lived for several years. Tourists and residents alike are drawn to the adorable cottages of downtown Savannah, many of which were built to house the working men who constructed this amazing city.
