We could have used more TP, I had to buy some. Also the 2 locks on the front door and apartment door are tricky to open.Other than that we had a wonderful time! thanks so much! Great location, fun pizza place and bar right across the street.
The location is very good, check-in was easy. The apartment was as expected and within walking distance of almost everything.
We enjoyed our stay at this apartment and in Florence.

Fantastic location and the hosts were helpful. One thing to note is that the shower is very small, even for European standards, if this would be a concern.
We had a wonderful stay. 5 nights! Perfect location, the apartment had everything we needed. The washing machine that also dried the clothes was such a help. We would stay here again.

We had a good stay at Sant' Egidio except bitten by man mosquitoes.
This was a new location for us to stay in the city. We have stayed in Florence more than a dozen times. It is well positioned between the Duomo and Santa Croce with a grocery store and plenty of wonderful restaurants around the corner. We enjoy cooking for ourselves and found everything we needed for it to feel like home. Mirta responded quickly to any queries and was very helpful.
Enjoy!

Our stay here was perfect! The property is lovely and has everything we needed, it was clean and spacious and the bed was luxurious.
The hosts were communicative and thoughtful, they put in an effort to make sure we felt welcome and were well oriented.
Lastly, the location is absolutely perfect. There is a grocery store and cute bars and restaurants nearby. It's close to nearly all major attractions in Florence, and was perfect to stop in and take a break in the middle of the day
We enjoyed staying at this 15th century property for our two-week stay. Comfy bed, updated kitchen, very quiet and insulated from any street noise. It was perfect for a couple on vacay in Florence. We were softly greeted in the mornings by the bells of the Duomo. All went 5-stars until the last two mornings with no hot water in the shower - just like in the 15th century... Advised the owner through VRBO text but never got any response to fix the issue before we departed. Otherwise a 5-star experience.
What a great apartment. Ground floor was a big help with Kristy’s mobility issues, and right in the heart of Florence. Check-in came with a full tour and answered so many questions. When I needed a cab they even called them for us. The kitchen was well equipped and we made a couple of lovely meals with stuff bought 40 meters from the Flat. When we return we will check the availability here first!!
We loved this property. We were greated with a welcoming bottle of Prosecco, fresh fruit and snacks! The apartment is adorable and clean. With the heat it was nice to have good air conditioning and a washing machine. The bed was comfortable and pillows were great. The location is close to the main attractions and restaurants and shops. The shower was a bit small, but otherwise we loved the apartment and would stay here again!
We are in our late seventies and this ground floor apartment was perfect. In a vibrant area with many cafes, markets and restaurants but literally 10 minutes walk to the Duomo and all adjacent sites. Yet the spread totally quiet. Francesco met us with a bottle of wine and snacks and showed us the apartment and walked me through the neighborhood to see the restaurants atms markets etc. He couldn’t have been nicer.

Greatly Exceeded Expectations
Perfection! Great location, parking 30 steps away, greeted with fruit and champagne, immaculately clean, excellent owners, the list goes on...Do not hesitate for one moment to rent this property. 5*+++
Perfect location to visit key sights in Florence. Easy access by car to front door. Parking across the street did not work for first day due to heavy weekend traffic and a full parking garage. I parked elsewhere and moved the car the next day to the "Parking Duomo" lot across the street. Very friendly and helpful parking staff. Excellent apartment in all aspects.
Finding a ground floor apartment in Florence is no easy task. The apartment is more suited to two guests rather than three, but the location is excellent for accessing all the major sights. A grocery store is 4 minutes walk away. It appeared to us to be a safe neighborhood, and we enjoyed 2 excellent meals just across the street at Barbagianni’s. Apartment was clean and had a hot shower.

Very clean; responsive owners but would not choose to stay again.
First, let me say the owners of this apartment are responsive and the gentleman who met us on their behalf was just that--a gentleman! I thought about this review a few days before submitting, because I want to be fair to both the owners and those making travel decisions and I recognize the importance of these reviews for all involved. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and the owners left fresh fruit and snacks for guests. The bed is sufficient but probably nearing the end of its life; the pillows are definitely in need of replacement. The shower is very small but very clean. The most disconcerting part of our stay was what appeared to be a sewer like odor that was quite strong when entering the interior foyer outside the unit from the street. It really bothered me. Let me underscore this is a result of no fault of the owners in my opinion---but it is part of the "experience". In short, I would not stay here again for this reason. Finally, for those for whom a "light and airy" accommodation is important with respect to choosing a place to stay, this unit would not be satisfactory, in my opinion. While the unit is centrally located to Duomo, etc., it is also up the street from a hospital and sirens happen.
The apartment was very well provided with amenities. It was clean, comfortable and very cosy. The kitchen was small but well stocked with cutlery, plates, cups etc. My only small issue was the lack of a couple of small saucepans and maybe a slightly larger frypan. We cooked at home every day so noticed this maybe more than people who go out to eat. Mirta and Franceso were excellent hosts, as was Enrico who met us when we arrived. We will be coming back.
All the comforts of home and proximity to all the sights of Florence…and there are many! The bed was so comfortable and cozy…we slept great after many hours of exploring the city! Highly recommend!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect and we were able to go back to the apartment early afternoon to regenerate before heading out again. The property is quite and feels very safe. It is quite dark, however we did not spend a lot of time there, so it wasn't am issue. It is close to buses, bars, restaurants, gelato shops (very important!) and a supermarket is close by. We ate in one night and it had everything we needed to prepare a simple mealWe would recommend the apartment to anyone staying in Florence.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this amazing apartment. It has loads of character, is quiet and pleasantly cool during the hot weather. The apartment is very well equipped and is in an excellent, central location. Communication from the owners was great and they responded promptly to any questions we had. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for accommodation in central Florence. Trevor & Liz

About the host

Half Italian/half British I have been travelling and living overseas for 12 years where was working in the tourist field. After all this travel decided to return to Italy where I have met my husband and changed job. Have been living in Florence with my family for the past 7 years and decided to return to my original 'passion' and accomodate travellers in our apartment in Sant' Egidio. Looking forward to meet you I will be answering your queries within 24 hrs.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I were looking as an investment a flat which was in the heart of Florence, in an ancient building and we fell in love with the beams and joists of this flat which are thypical of the Florentine style. This is also the reason why we tried to give Sant' Egidio a warm touch mantaining a very relaxing atmosphere.
What makes this property unique
For us Sant' Egidio is unique because of its atmosphere, because of its location and for all love and attention to details we put into it.
