Really well equipped & clean accommodation in peaceful rural location.
Nice garden with pool and very quiet area made for a super relaxing break.
Half hour drive to Mirepoix and Foix with their medieval charm, good markets and restaurants. Foix in particular has great places to eat.
Would recommend this accommodation

After a warm welcome and Nice Communication by mail we enjoyed our stay in this little paradise surrounded by trees and some very intreeging wildlife. Especially the birds gave us ‘sound and vision’ that was really pleasant.Good equipped, clean, rustique, with an very nice pool, the estate gave us the rest and infrastructure we expect during our vacations.

Great for exploring Lavelanet area.
Very enjoyable stay at gite on edge of town. Just a short drive into town centre.
Basic but very comfortable accommodation. Everything was clean and serviceable with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water in bathroom and separate shower room. We felt the kitchen was a not well lit and the outside furniture was due an upgrade! Despite these minor criticisms we thought the gite represented good value.
Very charming old house in a nice location with heated pool.
The house is nice, but it was but it was not very clean (nor was the pool) and the beds was not so nice. The dishwasher broke down and in generel the house appeared a bit disearted and miskept.
But the location is peacrfull and quite

Everything was as we expected because we already knew the place and we feel very confortable there. However I must say that we haver found cleanliness quiet poor in t'he inside of the house and it is dissaponting because for us it is a bàsic.

Te house is great and is surprisingly big inside. There is a well equipped kitchen, several places in the garden to relax, a lovely swimming pool and many things to do in the surroundings.
The house is located in a beautiful location, calm, quiet, surrounded by a superb garden of tall trees. The town Lavelanet is in the centre of Ariege so that you're near off all the interesting places to visit. The history of Lavelanet makes you understand the characteristics of the village. The house inside has all the commodities you need and special mention for the guardian who helped us at everything we asked. 10 points out of 10. Jordi i Yolanda.

This place is so good that we came back twice! Lovely secluded location, nice pool, spacious living areas and a great spot for visiting the Ariege region. Thoroughly recommended.

House very nice quiet!
Lavelanet is not a pretty little village but the property is a bubble apart in a beautiful setting, no noise, garden and swimming pool so so perfect !! The house is well located for great hikes and castle tours!
The bedding is very good and the welcome pack super (beds were made, linens ready, cold drinks, snacks and wine, really we immediately believed home).
It may lack an outside light and a more powerful light in the kitchen.
Small flat for the nocturnal visits of a weasel in the attic.

a bit disappointed - un peu deçus
The location is great and the house is attractive. However, the musty smell that permeates every room was very unpleasant. The house needed to be aired out. What was even more unpleasant were the dishes with crusty remnants of food that had been put away in the cupboards. The washing machine had not been given any attention either, showing signs of mildew, and also smelling poorly. The dish drying rack had not been cleaned in a while either.
Fortunately, there was the pool to distract us !

We are a Dutch couple, and have travelled extensively before persuing our dream of owning a house in southern France. After a 3 year search, viewing over 80 properties in the region, we fell in love with this property. It's main advantages being a lovely French house in an unspoiled and charming countryside. Also with lots of attractions nearby (a lake, caves, skiing, Andora, medieval cities, historic ruins)
What makes this property unique
The estate located close to Lavelanet (15min walking/short drive) which has supermarkets, boulangeries, post office, banks and a fresh food market every Friday. Les Tournesols is located in the middle of Cathare country, with it's unique history and historic buildings (e.g. Montsegur).
The location at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains provides lots of possibilities for outdoor activities, e.g. (electric) cycling, walking, climbing. Other nearby sights encompass: - vineyards at Limoux and nearby carcasonne - Lake Montbel: is a short 30 min drive, and provides facilities for kayaking, sailing and fishing - Mirepoix and Foix: famous Ariege medieval cities - Monts d'Olmes: with ski pistes, altitude 1400-1900m, 30 minutes drive - Andorra, 114 km, 2 hour scenic drive - Saint Lizier: white water rafting, 70 min drive - Carcasonne is 65 km away - Toulouse 90km - Narbonne and Perpignan beach are a 1.5 hours drive.
