THE HECTOR LUXURY CAVE

The interior of this House is an open plan 35 square meters space with an indoor NON HEATED Jacuzzi that can host 2-4 people, ideal for one couple or a company of 2-4 friends. It includes one built-in King size bed and two built in single sofa beds. The kitchen is equipped only with refrigerator, toaster, electric kettle and an espresso machine.

Outdoor

The private veranda offers a private space for relaxing, dinning, or even sunbathing, having as a background the most breathtaking views of Santorini: the Volcano, the caldera cliff and Thirassia Island.
Outdoor NON HEATED Jacuzzi for two is also available from APRIL 1-NOVEMBER 1

Amazing getaway

My wife and I spent 4 awesome nights here. The property actually exceeded our expectations! The caretakers were awesome and super helpful. We miss it every day.

Please Read Before Booking

We stayed at the Hector Luxury Cave house and unfortunately had a pretty awful experience. Toward the end of our stay I developed small red bumps on my skin where I had soaked in the outside pool (arms, legs, torso, etc.). The bumps seemed like hot tub folliculitis caused by an improperly maintained pool. The outdoor pool is not heated and is close to body temperature. I met with a physician and he confirmed the bumps are from a bacteria that can live in warm, standing water. Looking back I shouldn’t have used the pool, but I assumed it was well maintained and clean. I notified the host and his response was rude and even a bit aggressive. I told him I had seen a physician who confirmed the irritation was caused by his pool and he became confrontational. There are many amazing places to choose from on Santorini and I highly recommend looking elsewhere to ensure you have a great stay and don’t have to worry about cleanliness and upkeep.

Dear Justin, Thank you for taking the time to review our accommodation. Your feedback is valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. It took us by surprise that you had such a bad experience staying with us, as during all these years it's the first time we have received such a feedback. Concerning the cleaning of the plunge pools, that are set to a constant temperature of 28-30 degrees Celsius we always keep track of the Chlorine and PH levels as we are obligated to follow all the universal standards. They are cleaned carefully and thoroughly every day for everyone's safety, in order to keep the water at the highest quality possible. Our room cleaning service is daily. However you made very clear that you didn't want anyone inside the house. You did agree though, for the daily cleaning of the plunge pool. Although you didn't want daily cleaning service indoors, the terrace and the outdoors plunge pool were cleaned every morning. You also mentioned that we were rude, when all we did was to urge you to meet a doctor as skin bumps might be a symptom of several different factors such as sun or flower allergies etc. Then we simply asked you to send us the doctor's medical report. Which we never received. The thing that surprised us the most was when you said that you reached out to us before leaving a review to give us a chance to address the issue.. We are still not understanding your point. Taking into consideration the reviews we have received since 2013 it is pretty clear that we are doing our best to assure that our guests will have a great stay and you are no exception. We hope you are good now and that you enjoyed the rest of your holidays. We will be happy to welcome you back anytime in the future. Best regards, Hector Cave House Team

Incredible view and location

The cave house is amazing. Incredible location. Amazing views of the caldera. Clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything- coffee maker (pods provided), robes, slippers, beach towels, hair dryer, panini press, fridge, medical kit, water on arrival, safe, and local hosts who meet you and take you to the house and carry your luggage! (Dana and Dmitiri). Dana also did our laundry as there is no facility in Oia. Anastasia was responsive on email and even set up a sunset view cruise. We used the hot tub several times and had NO issues. The bed was comfortable. The shower was great (a must for me!) The cave location is safe. We never felt unsafe during our entire trip. The Greek people are warm, friendly and speak very good English. Things to be aware of- we stayed in the second from the top cave and climbing stairs was challenging for my wife because of her knee arthritis. Parking near the cave house is challenging because of the volume of visitors. The winds cover everything in light sand. Oia gets very busy with visitors from other parts of Santorini and the daily cruise ships. Apparently, it is chaos during the summer months so buyer be aware. We rented a car and visited many other communities and sites which I highly recommend. The best months to visit Santorini and visit the “chad” are April, May, October and November. We loved the cave house and Santorini and would highly recommend both.

The place was beyond what i was expected

We had a wonderful time at Hector cave house, the house locates in the heart of Oiá, which very convenient for us to walk around, near tons of great restaurants. Gianni was able to let us check in early too. His colleagues were awesome, they always made sure we got everything we need, showed us around, recommended places for us to explore. Most of all, Gianni was the super host, he helped me rent a car, book a sunset cruise, he even left a local cellphone for us to use. Thank you so much, and we highly recommend the cave house.

Nous ne pouvons que conseiller Hector luxury cave ... Giannis a toujours été très disponible et de bon conseil. Le personnel sur place également. Un grand merci à eux! Le lieu est magique, la vue sublime... il faut y aller et découvrir par soi même la beauté de ce lieu et de ce logement. Un moment unique pour décompresser, loin du stress et de l'agitation. Un souvenir inoubliable !

I am Giannis, 36 years old and I grew up in Athens.
After studying and working abroad (UK and Switzerland) for 5 years,I decided to come back in Greece and work for a family business.

In 1998 my parents visited Santorini Island and they fell in love with Oia village where they bought that picturesque cave house…
Since then all about my summer vacations is to lay back at that terrace and admire the spectacular view.

Traveling is to share…
There is no better way of doing this, other than sharing the experience with other travelers.

Of course I will not lose any chance to discover unique destinations like Santorini around the world…
