It was very clean and fit everyone we had (10) people. The only downfall was there were trees blocking some of the view (but that’s not the hosts vault). Other than that it was very easy access to the beach and if you need anything they reply quickly. Highly recommend staying here and my family and I definitely will be again.

The property is very close to the beach. It is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with lots of walking access. There is an elevated boardwalk in the yard that goes out to a lookout of the Gulf. Another favorite spot for us was the "crows nest" (rooftop), accessible via a spiral staircase from the screened porch. There are huge decks, big sliding doors, and lots of light. The kitchen is large and very well equipped. A nice private pool is in the yard, and there's a big community pool close by. The hosts, Jonathan and Krista, were very responsive. St. George's Island is a unique part of Florida I had never visited, and I'd recommend it for the great sand dunes, bird life, Gulf water and pine woodlands.

Great July 4th Getaway

Perfect sized property with easy access to quiet beach. The pool was a perfect addition for kids who bounced back and forth from the beach to the pool. Would definitely go back again.

Great getaway

We had a fantastic family vacation staying in this rental. The private pool was an added bonus and came in handy when it was too windy to be on the beach. You should definitely rent this house if you want relaxation. Very quiet and secluded.

Fabulously peaceful!

Great place for the 10 of us to camp here comfortably. Spacious, well appointed and quiet. A little bit of a hike to get over the dune via the boardwalk but, overall, this is a great location to get away from it all. Highly recommend!

Peaceful family vacation

We all loved the place it was very beautiful the beach was breathtaking. This was the first time my teenagers had seen the ocean and they we thrilled with the waves and sea shells. The crows nest had a great morning view as we drank our coffee and visited. At night from the crows nest the stars were so bright my kids loved it Having a private pool and Hot tub was great for my family We would take this vacation anytime.

House was beautifully appointed and very clean. Great touches like extension cords with USB plugs added in the house. The plantation is wonderfully wooded and this property is incredibly private with great walking paths. The easiest beach access is not the closest but several others are a very short walk away. The owners are fantastic to work with. We had an issue at the time to leave and needed to extend our time due to some fire’s between here and Atlanta. They were beyond kind and considerate in helping us work out our travel concerns. We’ve stayed on SGI once or twice a year for about 25 years and in many ways this has been one of our favorite experiences of all time. We are two older travelers and a 15 pound pup. If you enjoy quiet, a great house with a pool, and private walks then this is a great place for you! Book direct the owners they are fantastic!

WORTH EVERY MILE OF THE TRIP!!!

Sea Dunes was perfect for us and we made the most of our trip! The owners were a pleasure to work with. Location was great and the family very much enjoyed the pool and hot tub! This was our first time staying in the plantation and, beside the amenities that afforded, it had a feeling of privacy and seclusion. Everything we needed was on the island. There’s a beach within 45 minutes of our homes, but it can’t hold a candle to SGI!

Very comfortable house!

Very quiet and dark on the plantation end of the island, the view of the stars was fantastic. House was spacious, clean and master bed was very comfortable. (Did not use other beds) Plenty of deck chairs and very private. There were some minor mechanical issues with the house but the owner was very responsive and had them addressed immediately. The pool was great as well as the hot tub. I would stay here again!

Great location in the Plantation

Over all very nice. Pretty private. Could have had more towels and the soaps for bathing and dish washing was rather poor quality. The beds did have a bit of sand in them but it is the beach. Be advised the path to the beach is a bit of a trek. The private walk to the dunes is very nice. It would be nice to have a table/umbrella for the back deck as it’s too hot in the summer. There is a nice screened in back porch and widow’s walk.

Greg, thanks for your review. I'm sorry for the dishwasher issue, we did replace the dishwasher after your stay. Unfortunately, the hard water on the island takes a toll on appliances, especially dishwashers. We will make sure our cleaner sets out the proper number of towels/soaps. We are glad you enjoyed the screened area of the deck. Most of our guests who would like to be out of sun go inside the screened area when on the back deck. Thanks again for your stay!

No bells or whistles

Or rugs which was great since we had dogs. One set of towels per person. No extra towels in 2nd bathroom. No garbage disposal. Must be able to walk up and down 71 steps (yes I counted) to get to beach. Good luck if you have older knees or hips or carrying umbrella or chairs. EXAMINE PICTURES CLOSLY! It is not an easy walk to beach and views of beach limited from house ( unless you climb up circular stairs off porch). There is a walkway to sitting area behind dunes which is nice but not private. Owners are quick to respond and addressed issues quickly.

Hello Joyce, Thank you for your review. We always try to respond to our guests' needs as quickly as possible. I'd like to address a couple of things in your review. We try to be as clear as possible about the dunes surrounding Sea Dunes (even naming the home after the dunes) and that the best views are from the "crow's nest" and the dune walk. We aren't sure what you mean when you say that the dune sitting area is not private. The dune walk/sitting area is exclusively for our guests, and we think that Sea Dunes is one of the only homes on the entire island with this feature. Homes on St. George Island do not typically have a garbage disposal because every home on the island is on a septic system. Our rental agreement clearly states that we provide a set of towels for each guest. We hope you were able to use the brand-new washer and dryer for the towels if you need them. Hopefully, you were still able to enjoy your stay.

Not as shown in listing

Home was not clean, kitchen was poorly stocked with old and stained cookware and dish towels (only had one dish towel and two dish cloths). Coffee maker didn’t work. Looked as if the owners went to a garage sale or second hand store and purchased the furnishings, the kitchen appliances, and cookware. Bathroom shower wouldn’t drain so you stood in dirty water while showering. Closets had three bent wire clothes hangers to use. Master bedroom had no blankets - just an old, heavy, and dirty bedspread. The kid’s bedroom had two blankets in the top of the closet that had to be washed before we could use them. Basically, we saved for three months for this trip and thought we were going to a luxury home. Very disappointed.

Monica, we are very sorry for your experience, and we are disappointed that Sea Dunes did not meet your expectations. To our future guests, since cleaning is a core value for us and a top priority, we have addressed this with our cleaners. We are sure that they will return to our very high standards as they have in the past (as evidenced by our many five-star reviews). We always ask that if there is anything out of place during your stay please let us know immediately. We would then fix the problem as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we never heard anything about the issues with the coffee makers (there are two that were working fine), cleaning or the slow drain during the stay. If we had known about any of these things we could have had them corrected very quickly. We work very hard for our five-star reviews, and we will con

See dunes at Sea Dunes

This property was a perfect retreat for our family of 5. It is very easy to access and provides easy beachfront access. The crow's nest deck on the top of the dune gives you an unbelievable view of the beach and sunrise every morning. Additionally, being in the St. George Island Plantation neighborhood is incredibly peaceful.

Great Family Trip

The house is great. Nice large kitchen and living space for a large family. We spent a good deal of time on the "crow's nest" watching the sunrise and sunsets as that is the best way to see the ocean with the large dune at the main level. One more bathroom would have been nice with 8 adults but we made it work. And the beds were all extremely comfortable.

Beachside location for perfect Family Fun

First of all - communication by the owners/property managers is outstanding. Krista is a straight forward and direct communicator with firm rules, but also ensures the property is in great shape. We loved the location and the beach. The pool is smaller than it looks on the pictures, but a perfect addition for anyone getting a little tired of the beach. However, the beach is so perfect that it is hard to get tired of it. Super Sand, Great Sunsets, sooo much space on the beach. The house is clean, set up well for 8 people, a little tight for 10, but workable. Kitchen is well stocked and any chef will be able to whip up a great meal. the deck is great and the views from the pirates nest and dune deck are awesome. SGI is a fantastic place to check out from the daily stress and we definitely will be back. Thanks Krista and Jonathan for a great house/vacation experience.

Lovely Family Stay

This house was wonderful for our family of six. Kitchen was stocked with every possible gadget, great appliances, CLEAN, modern bathrooms, fresh towels, comfortable beds, and gorgeous view of ocean from eagles nest. *Note- the walkway to the beach is quick BUT lots of stairs. If you have a heavy cooler or any elderly or with disabilities, the stairs will definitely be an issue. Just FYI but the Plantation and this house was safe and quiet and all around lovely. Owners were very communicative and friendly. We will be back!

Beach to ourselves

This was our first time to SGI. The Sea Dunes home has a beautiful modern kitchen with all the amenities. There is a private wooden walkway to the top of the dunes where there is a beautiful sitting area were we had coffee every morning. The area is quiet and definitely not crowded. Exactly what we were looking for.

Lovely home!

We had a great stay at Sea Dunes. The house was open and had great natural lighting. The private boardwalk to a sitting area near the sand dunes is a perfect place to watch the stars. You can see the milky way in the evening, and the crow's nest provided a perfect area to watch lightning storms over the ocean. We were very happy to find a closed in porch area, great place to eat without bugs getting in the way. The pool is awesome, we were thrilled to have one in our literal front yard. The kitchen is amazing, so much counter space and everything you need to cook at the house. We felt like we were the only people in the area. It was amazing to look down the beach and see nothing but beach and wildlife. Fishing from the house is great! We caught a number of fish, sting rays and we saw a ton of ghost crabs and dolphins jumping out of the water. If you want a nice secluded area, this is the house for you. It is still so close to town, the location is very convenient. We had the best contact with the homeowners throughout the booking process. Response time from them was always prompt. We had a slight issue at the beginning of the trip due to a broken board in the boardwalk, ten minutes after I sent the homeowners an email, the plantation maintenance team was already fixing it. Thank you for opening your house to us, everything was set up perfectly for us.
