St. Peter's columnade is only five-minute walk! Nonetheless, the area is not outrageously touristic and instead Maintains its residential character. It is close to all amenities and shops of every kind (24 hours supermarket, pharmacy, bars, restaurants, pizzerias, pastry shops). St. Peter's Basilica entertains Numerous masterpieces and admission is free. The Vatican Tourist Office, located in St. Peter's Square, arranges guided tours of the basilica, the beautiful Vatican gardens and Vatican Museums.
You can walk to the other side of the columnade and to the famous streets of the Roman shopping such as Via Cola di Rienzo, Via Ottaviano, Via del Corso. By a brief walk you can visit Castel S. Angelo with its gardens and the Janiculum hill with its stunning (the best!) view of Rome. You can reach Trastevere and its characteristic alleys and typical haunts on foot too.


The center of Rome is wide but it is easy and more interesting to visit it on foot and the central position of the Roma Caput Mundi make it the ideal accommodation to spend a great vacation in Rome. Also you can use the public transportation. The 64 bus stop is at three-minute walk from the apartment. It runs frequently and in a few minutes you can reach to most magical and unique locations of the Caput Mundi such as Campo de 'Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon. The closest underground stop is "Ottaviano" (line "A") and is located on the other side of the columnade of St. Peter's (fifteen- minute walk from the apartment). The taxi stand is at 200 meters. St. Peter's train station is at five-minute walk and you can reach Fiumicino airport by train changing at Trastevere station. At St. Peter's station Also you can take the train to go to the northern beaches of Rome (Santa Marinella, Santa Severa, Civitavecchia).
At the opposite end of via delle Fornaci, on the top of the hill, you will find Villa Pamphili, the largest park of Rome, where you will be incendio hike, have pic-nics, or simply strolling around for miles.
Also not far is the Triumphal open market (the largest in Italy) where you will find fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, cheese, pizza, fresh pasta.
