This villa offers the rare and sought after combination of a large, elegant villa with stunning river views and garden with pool yet within walking distance of a beautiful historic spa town in northern Tuscany, with bars and restaurants accessible on foot.

Strong, free wi-fi throughout the villa.

Easy access to public transport mean that it's possible to leave the car behind and make day trips by bus or train.

The views are breathtaking, looking down on the river below. The loggia with its three terracotta arches is the perfect spot to relaxi with friends and family and a glass of Tuscan wine.

The splash pool is ideal to cool off in on a hot summers day and the terraced gardens provide for relaxing under the Tuscan sun or dining al fresco with is a traditional chimney barbecue.

The Villa is on two floors. The top floor has 4 large double bedrooms all with ensuite shower room, kitchen, lounge area with open fire place, another living/dining room, plus of course the loggia with its terracotta arches, stunning views and further seating. For those choosing the 6 bedroom option this includes also the first floor with a larger kitchen/dining room (35msq), 2 double bedrooms, one bathroom (with bath) and seperate toilet.

Bedrooms are made up with high quality white cotton bedlinen and towels. Pool towels are provided.

As many of the bedrooms are large it is possible to make rooms up with extra beds or to make some rooms with twin single beds instead of double beds. We aim to be flexible and we will try to arrange the rooms to suit your groups needs. Please contact us to discuss your ideal sleeping arrangements.

The villa is very well equipped with everything you need for your holiday: guidebooks, maps and local information, plenty of novels, DVDs and CDs (mostly English language) to choose from, board games and a wii video games console with a good selection of games.

A welcome basket is provided with local specialities, Tuscan wines, and some basics to ensure a stress free start to your holiday.

The villa is reached by a series of steps and is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

The accommodation is an historic Tuscan villa making it ideal for larger families or groups of friends.

A perfect trip to Bagni Di Lucca. A family of 8 with 3 generations from 7 years old to 80 years old. The property is very well set out in a great location with breathtaking views to the river. Rod’s is a fantastic host and his communication is excellent. A minor medical emergency and Rod was available immediately to provide advice on the best place to get treatment - he even offered to accompany me to the hospital. Rod also arranged a chef to cook a traditional Italian meal for my family. It was delicious and incredibly good value. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in a generously proportioned villa with rustic charm in a superb location.

Amazing place with great host

We have just spent two weeks in Bagni di Lucca in beautiful Villa Rosalena. We can not recomend this place enough. Cool, very well equiped and huge stone house on top of the hill at one end of Bagni di Lucca. Rod has been very helpful, answering all our many questions quickly and kindly. He even came by and cleaned the house at the weekend including New bed linen and towels. We had great recomendations for restaurants and nice things to do from him. And the Lima river …. Out if this world ❤️💦 top class and 5 stars from us.

Beautiful location

This villa suited our purpose beautifully as a family of 6 adults and three children under 7 yrs of age. The house contained everything we needed and the balcony was enjoyed every evening after our gelato run to the nearby bakery/bar. Bedrooms were bright and clean. The beds are comfortable and roomy. Sadly no air conditioning but the stone walls, wooded valley location, and fans provided allowed for fairly comfortable sleeping. The pool and pool area was amazing. Location relative to local hot spots was good. 15 mins to Lucca, an hour to beaches, Florence, Viareggio, Pisa. Rod was very helpful in every regard, checking in regularly, booking dinner spots at the town festival for us and providing great recommendations for beaches and restaurants. Cons include no screens on windows, and several staircases to climb to reach the property which might prove challenging for guests not used to climbing a lot of stairs and those carrying bags or luggage. Our family had a lovely vacation at Villa Rosalena.

Why they chose this property

The view! Looking down onto the river and the old stone bridge, with the surrounding hills is an amazing view . It's a view we never tire of as it's always changing; every day the water level, movement and light is different, but always beautiful. The town of Bagni di Lucca is a charming place, beautiful scenery and a lovely, easy and relaxing atmosphere. It's a great place to unwind.

What makes this property unique

Whilst other properties had views, or were large, we knew this particular combination was fairly unique: a large villa with an amazing view yet within easy walking distance of bars and restaurants. When we are on holiday we don't want to always have to drive home after a meal, a leisurely stroll along the river is far nicer! It was unusual to find somewhere so close to town yet with a superb view and outside space. We knew this villa was special, a magical combination, and we love to share this with our guests.
