This place was an amazing value! The hostess has a keen sense of what a flying travelers needs. She had larger nice to have items available such as a cooler, back pack, laundry detergent, and lots of informational books and maps about the island. Upon arrival we felt welcomed and cared for. The bed and living spaces were very nice.

Happy Anniversary! Hope you can come back in the future!
Stay was great! Cottage was well stocked. Host provided a binder with great resources, pamphlets and information on day trips which were very helpful. Welcome gift was thoughtful and appreciated. Home felt every safe and had everything you needed. Towels were fluffy and bed was comfy. Fell asleep to the sounds of tropical wildlife every night. Great stay!
Looking for a cozy island oasis away from the hubbub, with the ocean not far away? This is it. Reflect in the meditation circle, swing in the gazebo, be amused by geckos and the many thoughtful touches the host has added. Authentic, peaceful even when the frogs start chirping. The bed is comfortable and almost anything you can think of is probably tucked away just for you. The host is welcoming and responsive. Couldn't ask for better. Authentic local fare is not far away, and black sand beaches are close.

What a cool little cabana. It has everything you need, and we really enjoyed the jungle like setting with all the beautiful plants and geckos serenading us each evening. Marylove has gone to great lengths to make this a special place to stay.

You two are awesome guests and I truly hope you enjoyed your visit and hope you return someday! Safe travels wherever you go!
We absolutely loved our stay here!! Mary-Rose was a friendly and helpful host who was happy to give us our space but also happy to chat or give recs when needed. The space was beautiful and clean and there were thoughtful amenities provided like ear plugs for the coquis. When we go back to the Big Island, we will be staying here again!!
We had no idea this cottage would be so lovely and serene! It was close to most things that we wanted to see although I would have been just as happy to chillax around the property. It was super clean and I miss the drinking water already. MaryRose is an awesome host.

Mahalo - I truly hope you are able to return and stay longer in the future!
Our stay at this VRBO cottage was absolutely magical. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing 4-night stay. We especially loved the back outdoor area—it was the perfect place to unwind while listening to the coqui frogs each evening. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept great every night. As a bonus, getting to witness episode 45 of Kīlauea during our visit made the experience even more unforgettable. We would definitely stay here again!

I'm so thrilled for you! You deserve peace, quiet and relaxation! Come back someday, please!
We absolutely loved our stay here, especially the lanai! The unit was very well equiped, clean, super comfy and a great location away from any crowds but easy enough to visit other areas of the island.
Absolutely the bed VRBO location and Host that we have EVER delt with. The clean and serene cottage is AMAZING and Mary Rose Love is the best host hands down.!!
We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. Great communication with the owner and she had all the comforts of a home away from home. Would definitely stay here again!!
We really enjoyed the stay, the place was well furnished and decorated tastefully. It also included many appliances and thoughtful additions that made it an easy place to stay.We had one issue with the key not working to lock/unlock the place - once our host was informed she was on it and had it handled immediately. Great response.
When I stay in places like this it makes me wonder why anyone would ever want to stay in a hotel . Mary Rose has created a lovely piece of paradise for all who stay with her. The entire backyard is yours to relax in! I particularly enjoyed reading in the swing. The bed is very comfortable and having a washer and dryer available to use was huge for us as we were running out of clean clothes to wear after being on the island for 2 weeks. The pictures do not do this space justice- it is a very large comfortable space! We truly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in this area!
The cottage was perfect for my husband and I and a great spot for exploring the Hilo side of the The bed was the most comfortable of any bed we've had at a rental. Or host was helpful and her cottage has all of the little details to make a stay enjoyable. Thank you!helpfulisland.

Thank you! It was a total pleasure to host you! So glad you enjoyed everything! I hope you can return someday!
Mary Rose’s place is truly special. The land itself has a peaceful, grounded energy, and Mary Rose is a thoughtful and caring host who made us feel very welcome. The space is very clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout, and a wonderful selection of books about Hawaii. You’ll be hard pressed to find something Mary Rose hasn’t already thought of in this space. Washer and dryer are outside under cover and very convenient. The outdoor area is a beautiful way to spend your evening on the hammock, or one of the swings. Even an under cover table you can enjoy an afternoon rainstorm. The location is beautiful and feels deeply connected to the island. If you’re looking for a place to slow down, unplug, and experience Hawaii beyond the typical tourist stay, this is it.We headed home rested, relaxed and recharged. We will absolutely stay again!
