This beautiful cottage located right at the heart of the Cathedral City of St. Davids. Recently refurbished to the highest standard. The cottage is a tasteful fusion of traditional and contemporary welsh style, sourcing locally made products and furnishings - traditionally made woollen stair runners, rugs and blankets from the Woollen Mill at Solva to modern screen printed cushions by Blodau Bach made right here in St. Davids. Located on the High Street, just seconds away from the historic market square, No. 37 provides accommodation for 4 guests. It is centrally heated, has instant hot water on demand and has a lovely gas flame fire for those cosy nights in the sitting room. Free internet access is provided via wifi and a smart TV allows access for film downloads, catch up to etc. The sitting room, whilst having a low traditional open beamed ceiling, is quite spacious. It comfortably seats up to 6 and is filled with sunlight all year 'round due to its southern aspect. The kitchen is surprisingly generous for a cottage, offering a dedicated cooking area, pantry style larder and a dining area for 6 guests. It also has its own little boot room with a reclaimed church ideal area to sit and take off those coats and boots after a day's to unload all the beach stuff following a day in the sunshine. There's a washer dryer tucked into the larder, as well as a fridge and a dishwasher. Just off this boot room is another space, previously the old pantry, it's now a cool little wc and shower for showering away the beach sand and hanging up those wetsuits. Although on the High Street, a sleepy rural High Steet, the cottage is quite peaceful. It is set back from the road by a little garden which is basked in sunshine all day long, with room for sitting and chatting to passers by as well as providing space for a car. For more peaceful and private relaxation there a cosy little courtyard just by the back door, with a large grassed garden leading off, with plenty of space for the kids to play, days of sunbathing and ideal for evening barbecues on the balmy summer nights. Upstairs has 3 delightful bedrooms, one king size and two singles. There is enough room for an additional temporary bed for parties of 5 if need be. These are all light and airy, decorated in a traditional style, but with delightful modern touches and twists, providing the perfect settings to relax, chill and sleep. All local amenities are on the doorstep, great delis, a local fruit and veg shop, banks, cafes, pubs and all seconds away. The nearest beach is just a 10 minute walk and is also dog friendly, as is the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastal path, where a traveller really does get a great taste for this land of myths and legends. Just a some 20yards away are pick up and drop off points for all public transport, which provides links to our beaches, coastal paths, North and South Pembrokeshire, and with rail links to the rest of the country. This property is lovely. Its a short distance from the coast which we explored everyday with our pooch and it is within a short distance of two pubs which are both dog friendly. I would definitely stay again when we next visit St David's.
Absolutely gorgeous cottage, beautifully done out, in a fantastic location right on the high street. The parking space is worth it’s weight in gold! We will be back!
Very clean and tidy. Cosily furnished with an attention to detail. Good use of the space and soft furnishing, linens and towels great quality. Super location with deli, veg shop, pubs, cafes and a supermarket on your doorstep. Can recommend The Bishops, the Pilgrim's cafe and St Davids kitchen and Gin Factory for food.
Nice cottage in a good location the property was clean and tidy and the parking space was ideal the only negative is the front windows which coluld do with replacing as you are unable to close them so you can hear everything outside from traffic to passers by and the rose bushes which need cutting back as they knock on the windows but overall a pleasant stay

A great review, just to confirm that all front windows do close. There are two small vent windows in the living room which do pop open if they are not properly secured on their latches.
Very pleased with all aspects of the property. The Lounge was a good size with nice furnishings, cosy and light. The kitchen was a good size for cooking and dining and all bedrooms were light, comfortable and decorated to a good standard. Having 2 bathrooms worked out well for 2 couples. Front drive although narrow was great to have as offroad parking. Managed to get the 5 Series estate in easily. Location ideal for local amenities and access to the great Welsh coastline. We all loved our stay and will definitely look to re-visit asap.
Nice little cottage with parking in central st David’s. Very close to the shops and eateries (Mill cafe is a must for breakfast).
The passenger does need to get out of the car before parking, but plenty of room for our Range Rover and a real bonus to have free parking.
Cottage has everything you could ever need, cute garden, lovely furnishings and super comfy beds. It is in the centre so there is some road noise if you are a very light sleeper like me (hubby slept well). The back single bedroom is noise free and very comfy.
Lovely and warm and easy to adjust heating. Dog friendly and a simple info booklet was appreciated, rather than a big rule book you get in some cottages.
Enjoyed our stay.
A lovely cottage in the heart of St David's, the smallest City! Ideal for shops, the Cathedral and the local Hostelries. We gave the Farmers a glancing visit for a warming mulled wine! They weren't serving food during the Winter months, but directed us to their Sister pub, the Bishop where we enjoyed two fabulous meals in a very friendly atmosphere. Our little dog also welcome.
The Cottage was warm & welcoming, with some lovely touches and very comfortable bed. The kitchen area was a bit smaller than we expected, but manageable. Unfortunately and untimely boiler breakdown mean't we only spent 2 nights in this central cottage. Due to the imminent Christmas shut down, no repair was possible, but Matt was an absolutely fabulous host and offered us his Farmhouse Letting at Whitesands for the remainder of our Stay. A really fabulous property overlooking the beach with Carn Llidi rising behind the house. Couldn't have wished for a better location for a Christmas break and would highly recommend Dan y Graig for a holiday. The finish of the property was brilliant and everything you need to cook, sleep & relax, plus the wet room is a real stunner! Fabulous view & walks from the doorstep & the beach is so close. Thank you Matt for all your help.

NEVER STAY AGAIN.
Honest facts for not staying again.
1.The moment we opened the door and stepped into the hall , all we could smell was an overpowering stink of dirty dog (horrible)
2. The hall and kitchen floor was dirty ( discovered by wiping a dettol floor wipe over and finding the wipe black!)
3. The Lounge sofas and chair are grubby and in desperate need of reupholstering the seating cushions. they were very uncomfortable and we had to use the scatter cushions to sit on to make it comfortable. ( not like online photo's depict)
We also had to vacuum all the sofas and chair because we were sick of getting our clothes covered in dog hairs!
4. Downstairs shower room floor gets soaked with water every time you shower because the small section of glass is NOT adequate to cover the opening to shower. The extra work of drying the floor after showering was a real pain. (evidence this is a long standing problem, as the wooden door next to shower had rusty hinges and timber starting to rot)
5. The 5th pull out bed in the single room is NOT a proper single bed as was advised!. its a single mattress sat in a wooden frame on the floor, at floor level! Not easy to get up from and the mattress was awful.
6. The back garden was overgrown and neglected, so although there was 2 very nice wooden benches, you didn't want to sit out there.
8. The car parking space at the side of the house is very tight with high walls either side of your vehicle, impossible to get passengers in and out of the car. to pack and unpack the car, we had to pull onto the busy main high street in front of the house.
9. For a self catering holiday home, there is very little cupboard space for groceries.
10. The fridge is small and only has a TINY ICE BOX FOR A FREEZER.
11. Could only get WI-FI in the lounge.
We are aware this house was pet friendly, but having dog hair almost everywhere was disgusting. Everything about this house made it difficult to stay. We did try to find alternative accommodation after one night here, but could not find any available for the week. We left a day early.....as we could not stand it any longer.
We loved St Davids and Pembrokeshire, but we thought this house was Smelly, Grubby, Hard work, Not relaxing and enjoyable, uncomfortable, and lacking in so many areas. (buying a strong scented candle for the lounge helped a little)
This is the first "negative" review Ive ever written, its only because our experience was so rubbish that I just had to write like I have.

No.37 is presented exactly as detailed in the photographs and property description provided. I am disappointed that these guests did not enjoy staying at no.37 and would like to address the issues noted: The cottage is a very old property and smells of nothing other than age. Locally made reed diffusers add fragrance around the house; All hard surface floors are steam mopped and sanitised at every changeover – I do not supply Dettol wipes for testing; Lounge sofas are soft filled and have had a lot of use but are clean and very comfortable according to other guests. There are no signs that they require reupholstering. They are vacuumed during every changeover and are as depicted in the photos; Downstairs shower has a 600mm glass panel with a 400mm gap for access. The room configuration does not allow for a full shower door. Bath mats are provided to catch any water droplets and flooding has never been reported previously. Upon inspection, there is no trace of rotting wood in the door nor the architrave which is almost within the shower area. This is an old original door with old hinges; The exact nature of the temporary bed was explained to the guest before booking, therefor I am confused that it was an issue. It is a full-size single mattress on a trundle that pulls out from beneath the other single bed - as per property description; The back garden is cared for by two local groundsmen who tend to all my holiday properties on a fortnightly basis, weather permitting. It is an established, informal cottage garden with rambling roses and an apple tree at the back. It is mostly lawned and is not overgrown and provides a peaceful place to relax; Parking space is larger than a car park bay and I regularly park a Range Rover Vogue and manage to pack/unpack on changeover days. It is advisable for passengers to dismount at kerbside prior to vehicle being parked. Few High Street St.Davids properties afford the luxury of private off street parking immediately outside. The nearest public (paid) car park is 150yds away; Kitchen cupboard space is adequate for a 7 night family stay. The butchers block in the centre of the kitchen provides additional space for groceries; The fridge is an undercounter fridge, appropriate for a 4 person cottage. It is noted in the description that it has a freezer compartment…ideal for storing ice and ice cream; Good wifi is achieved throughout the cottage, both upstairs and down. Signal strength between the living room and kitchen is sometimes affected due to the 2ft stone wall between.
No issues were reported to me by these guests on arrival, during or post stay. Had they been, I would have done my utmost to resolve immediately. My housekeepers are thorough and reliable and on this occasion, I myself was involved in the pre stay clean. Having inspected the cottage after cleaning I can guarantee that there was no evidence of the issues described in this review. Should any issues arise during a guests stay, it is important to let me know as soon as possible during the stay, so that I can inspect and rectify. Post stay claims can not be verified as genuine. All our guests thoroughly enjoy staying at No37, as is evident from previous reviews. It would appear that No.37 was not the correct choice or fit for this family and it is a shame that it did not fulfil their expectations.
No. 37 is a large, comfortable cottage that is well equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The location could not be better on the High Street close to cafes, pubs and a well-stocked grocery store. Half a block to a superb ice cream shop. The off street parking with the house was also a plus in an area where where on street parking is sparse.
The cottage truly had everything you could need during your stay. The washer/dryer combo was easy to use. The rooms were large and light filled. The large back yard, with benches to enjoy the quiet, was secluded and lovely. During our stay an apple tree was full of ripe apples. We couldn’t imagine a more comfortable place to stay in a beautiful part of Wales.
This property is a lovely old cottage in a great central location. We likes the way its stylishly decked out with local Welsh wool soft furnishings. There was all the facilities we needed to make our weeks stay comfortable and enjoyable.
We had a lovely week in St Davids and didn't even need to use the car as everything we needed was nearby.
The cottage was full of character but with a modern twist. It was clean and tidy throughout with comfortable beds. We enjoyed the garden too with a friendly robin!
a great location literally a moments walk to the Cathedral, through the City, (town sized) and met all our needs, ideal, and I recommend, well worth a try
Great time in this lovely property. Matt is a great host and was very good with communication. Property is in a fantastic location and is very highly recommended
37 High Street is a fabulous cottage in the heart of Saint Davids. It was perfect for us, Mum dad and two girls, 18 & 23 and three well behaved spaniels.
Matt the owner has clearly made several upgrades and improvements to the cottage over the last year or so. New boiler, so nice and warm for winter breaks and new showers. The cottage is nicely decorated and finished with lots of local products.
I would gladly recommend the cottage and Saint Davids to anyone.
Great property in great location for exploring St David’s and the Pembrokeshire Coast. Extremely comfortable beds and property well equipped. Would definitely recommend.
FAB ACCOMODATION IN A GORGEOUS PART OF THE COUNTRY
Loved the cottage and its furnishings. Very comfortable and well equipped.
Stunning countryside views and walks straight out from the front door.
Very friendly and accommodating host.
We loved our time in this house - very clean, extremely comfy beds, spacious sitting room and very well equipped kitchen and we loved the sunny garden. Thankyou
We enjoyed our recent stay, the cottage was impeccably clean and well located. Plenty of space and comfy furniture. Recommendations would be for an outside dining set as this was lacking and also additional kitchen worktop space, otherwise great little place to enjoy a lovely little city.

Recommendations are well received and taken on board. The garden does have two teak benches, however tables get damaged and seem to blow away as the garden is raised. The kitchen is as per the images and whilst dedicated worktop space is limited, there is a large farmhouse kitchen table with plenty of room for food preparation.
Great stay, all that we had hoped for. Great location. Very traditional property with all the conveniences of a modern home. Great and prompt interaction with Matt the owner. We will definitely be going again
We really enjoyed our stay. The owner is very helpful and replied to all enquiries very promptly. House is lovely. Well equipped. We enjoyed having a garden. Only adding this for feedback purposes, we found the duvet on our double bed too thick so could do with a lighter weight one for summer? Beds very comfy though. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.
Excellent stay in this house. Beautifully and sympathetically decorated and the beds and sofa are really comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped. Well situated at the top end of the high street a couple of doors from shops. We brought a WiFi extender plug that helped boost the signal in the kitchen. No complaints at all. Lovely. Been to St David’s many times, great place.
Had a lovely few days in St David's. The cottage is fabulous, very spacious, comfy and homely could not fault it.
