We really enjoyed our stay at this very comfortable, cosy cottage in a great location. It is situated in the heart of the village with two very good restaurant/pubs minutes walk away, great location for a walking base, we particularly enjoyed the 4/5 mile circular walk to Monsal HeadSimon and Debra the owners are very friendly, helpful, welcoming and provided everything we could possibly need in the cottageHighly recommend we will definitely be returning
Typical 19th century cottage with some original features, exactly what you'd expect for a grade II listed building, so wonderful that these places have been protected from developers and kept the soul of the village intact. Lovely atmosphere, very quaint and cosy, do note that the stairs are quite steep so only for very able bodied people and the bathroom is right at the top of the house on third floor; lovely village, enjoyed the Bulls Head more than the Ashton pub which seems a bit corporate, food at Bulls Head was tastier and more a real pub experience; lovely little grocer's 2 min walk serving the best scotch eggs and cakes. A memorable stay.
The cottage was beautifully cared for. Attention was put into all the small details from decorating with thoughtfully chosen furniture pieces to custom draperies!!The hosts were so thoughtful in creating an entire binder to answer any questions you may have. They also had us call once we were in the cottage to welcome us, explain a few details and see if we had any questions or needed anything at all!!Extremely clean, Easy parking!! Simon and Debs know how to host!!
A fantastic little cottage that met our requirements, although the stairs are challenging for those with arthritic joints or mobility issues. This minor issue did not spoil our visit.
Lovely quirky little cottage in a wonderful location. Host very informative. Perfext for exploring the Dales and the Monsall trail.Lovely pubs on the doorstep.
True to listing, this cottage is on three levels. It is thoughtfully decorated and comfortable with everything you could need. Pubs, walks and wonderful historic areas close by.We hope we can visit again !
The Bobbin is a beautiful, cosy house in a fantastic location. Well thought out accommodation and has everything you need. Talking with Debra and Simon was excellent.
A beautiful cottage and area of the Peak District, for that perfect weekend trip away with friends and family. The cottage is so well maintained and very clean, with all the information needed on arrival. The owner Simon, greeted us and made sure we were happy with our booking. We would recommend a booking at The Bobbin cottage, for anyone to visit at any time of the year. We didn’t want to leave.
We had a great time staying at the bobbin, which we found to be just as it was described and perfect for a weekend with friends.
Ashford in the water is a lovely place, close to Bakewell and Chatsworth. There are lots of walks nearby and the pub round the corner does fantastic food.
Owners were very friendly and helpful, would definitely like to return.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Bobbin and just wish it were longer. The cottage is cosy and inviting, and it was our perfect home base to explore Derbyshire. Everything was clean, Simon was wonderfully communicative, and we loved the tip about going to the Ashford Arms for dinner. It was so good we went back the next night. We're already dreaming up an excuse to stay here again!

Owner was super nice and helpful. Quiet and safe area with local culture vibes. Transportation is kinda limited after hours and stairs in the house was unexpected. Other than that overall stay was pretty comfortable and owner was very tentative and helpful with everything we needed.
Only had 3 nights to enjoy the area, but provision of maps was very welcome and easy access for lovely countryside, especially biking on the Monsal Trail. Simon and Debs were most helpful with information and communication before our arrival and had easy control of the heating after unusual cold weather!
