Wonderful loft located in the Palazzo Altieri, one of the most beautiful buildings of the Roman nobility, built in 1554 by the architect Giovanni Antonio de Rossi, author of the Palazzo Bonaparte. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor and enjoys a fantastic view over the roofs of Rome and the dome of the Pantheon. The apartment is on two levels . On the first one there is a large living room with a sofa convertible to a double bed and a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a walk-in closet, a bathroom with shower. On the second floor there is an double bed area and a single sofa bed area. It is a fully equipped apartment with air conditioning, dishwasher, TV, hi-fi. Classical furnishing, upholstery and fittings, high wooden ceilings and wooden floors complete this elegant apartment built in a historic building and artistic heart of Rome.

Wonderful stay!

Communication and check-in with Fabio was quick and easy. There was a booklet on basic information about the apartment as well as nearby amenities. The apartment was clean, cosy and very comfortable for a family of 5. The loft was a cute and functional touch, but the stairs are quite steep. The kitchen was stocked with basic condiments as well as coffee and sugar (we only made coffee and used the microwave and oven for heating up leftovers, we did not cook). It was beautiful weather in April so we did not use the heater or aircon. There was clothes detergent provided and the washing machine worked well. A good size clothes rack was available.Being on the top floor close to a busy road, you could hear sirens and noises at night, but the windows help to keep some of it out. The apartment is on the top floor and the view of the rooftops and street below gave a nice Italian vibe. There is an elevator available if you don't wish to climb the three floors to the apartment, but there are still a few steps which cannot be avoided. The building itself is old and rustic with a historic Roman style. The location is excellent - walking distance to most attractions, even the Vatican City. Just on the next block, there is a small supermarket and a bakery that opens at 6am (except Sundays) serving coffee and freshly baked croissants and pastries if you need them that early, which we did. Overall, a wonderful stay which I would definitely recommend!

Great location, unique & authentic apartment

If you want to stay somewhere that feels like history with the comfort of modern life, stat here. Great location near Gesu, Piazza Venezia, and multiple transit stops. The building has character and interest. Just be aware it is a long walk through corridors to get to the apartment, but for us it felt like a great adventure!

Hermoso departamento en Roma

Excelente opción para alojarse en Roma.Un hermoso departamento, amplio, totalmente equipado con todo lo necesario, muy limpio y cómodo para pasar varios días.Lo mejor de todo es su ubicación. Desde ahí e llega caminando a la mayoría de las principales atracciones.Muy recomendable.

... ce bel appartement parfaitement niché dans les greniers du magnifique Palazzo Altieri mériterait le changement/rénovation d'une bonne partie de ses équipements (literie (matelas éventrés), vaisselle (pas de bol, verres à vins en plastique, ...), ustensiles de cuisine (poêles au fond cabossés), ...) ce qui ne semble pas avoir été considéré depuis un bon moment.Hormis cette réserve (à l'intention du bailleur, charge à lui d'en tenir compte pour les futurs occupants) accueil personnalisé parfait tout comme, sans revenir sur la situation et la qualité des parties communes, l'optimisation de l'espace et des espaces de couchage intelligemment pensées.

Great communication. Valerio was so nice in helping us with our luggage and explaining everything about the property. Such a good location. Everything super walkable. Would definitely get a bus or Uber from main station as that is probably the longest walk we did.

Great location!

Three of us (24 yo) stayed here and loved it. It was a charming place to stay with a great location. They had great communication up until our stay and also allowed us to check in early. They arranged a car service for us from the airport. DO NOT BOOK IF YOU CAN NOT HANDLE WALKING STAIRS. I loved staying here, but if you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you. There is an elevator but you still need to walk stairs and down hallways. The beds are also on the loft area, which added so much character to our stay, but could be challenging for others. The location was amazing and I would definitely stay here again. The beds were comfortable, and we felt comfortable traveling as young women. I loved staying here and loved Rome!

Charming and unique

We loved this quirky charming place in the center of everything. Sure the hallway is long, there are some steep stairs, but we loved it. the history vibe is strong. Thanks for a great stay!

Fun Rome Trip for 4

Overall, it was a fantastic stay! The unit was very cozy and conveniently located near everything. The only issue was that the VRBO was about a 6-7 minute walk to the unit; however, that didn't ruin our experience.

Perfect location

Our family of 4 greatly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is within walking distance of many sites in Rome. The hosts were very kind and helpful. The AC worked but was a bit loud in the upstairs area, and was not consistent there. However, there were fans to compensate. Also must be careful on the stairs as they were small. We would definitely stay there again.

The property is beautiful, the location is great, and most of the amenities were excellent. However, in the middle of June, you cannot stay in a 3rd floor loft without air conditioning. Had trouble sleeping at night. We discovered the issue on our first night (of 4 total). The hosts provided window fans, which made it a bit better, but they did not get the AC fixed during our stay.

Told the property I am traveling with wheelchair bound family member and never addressed to me the Sue. The Airconditioner wasn’t working, told the check in person about the air conditioner and nothing was done. We had to endure Rome heat in June.

Disappointed with experience

I hate to sound negative but we didn't enjoy our experience with this apartment. Like much of Rome, this building is old. It is interesting and some my like it, however, it takes, literally 5 minutes to get from the gate of the building to the door of the apartment. Its tough when carrying luggage. Upon entering, we were hit with a wave of heat. I understand May in Rome gets hot but the shutters on the window were left open and the apartment was very uncomfortable. Inside, the apartment is one open room with the stairs and loft for the upstairs "bedrooms". There is no partition between the rooms. There are three AC units for the entire apartment and unfortunately for us, two of them were on their last legs. After a couple of hours in the room the heat became unbearable and we had to get a hotel room instead. We came back the following day to leave the keys back and the two AC had died and wouldn't turn back on. The place was just as hot and the single remaining AC unit was making no difference. This might not be everyones experience but sadly, it was ours.

Wonderful spot for family

Wonderful place to stay with older kids! Easily walkable throughout the Pantheon area and to the Colosseum. So many attractions and great city life to experience on the doorstep, but not noisy. Adriano was great meeting us and getting us set, with everything we needed at hand. Highly recommended!

Amazing stay

This apartment was perfect for our Rome vacation. It was centrally located to all of the tourist attractions so it was easy to walk everywhere. But when we were tired there is a bus stop right out front. The building has a large door to the street that locks at night that feels very safe. The apartment was wonderful. Had everything we needed and wanted. Just for those who need to know, the stairs that lead to the beds are very steep. The sofa is a sleeper bed also so there is an option for a bed downstairs. Would definitely stay here again.

Family Holiday

Palazzo Altieri is a beautiful property in a great location. Our family of five stayed was comfortable in our apartment with plenty of room and all the things we needed for our week long stay. It’s within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, gelato spots, and quick walking distance to public transit. We’ll definitely consider staying here again on our next visit.
