Welcome to your home away from home with an ocean view! Ours is a 3-bedroom, 3 full bathroom, two story, ocean front condo located on the dunes, just steps down the path to your own private beach! Enjoy sunsets, sea life and white water surf from the family room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom.

We have worked hard to make this property a comforting welcome to the beach with technical conveniences, including keyless entry, smart TV's in all rooms, and a Google Home device for music or information on demand in the kitchen. We also now feature Starlink satellite service for high speed internet access! A visit to the beach no longer has to make a visit to the internet difficult!

Bedrooms invite you to relax on memory foam mattresses and remodeled bathrooms boast modern amenities with natural stone and Italian porcelain tile, an in-wall toilet, rain shower-head and barn door entry.

The living room touts a wall-mounted flat screen TV and service throughout the house includes streaming media players with access to Netflix, Pandora, HULU, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and other popular services, with standard TV service provided by YouTubeTV.

The downstairs bedroom sports a unique surprise for the kids and kids-at-heart with a cocktail-style arcade cabinet, featuring Pac-Man and 59 other digital distractions you might remember from the dawn of the video game era. Our fully stocked kitchen provides you with the essentials you need to get any meal on the table and the courtyard offers picnic seating with a grill for barbecuing (grilling supplies included!).

Great stay on Monterey Bay!

Admittedly, we were a little taken aback as we approached—it felt more like a charming farming community (the Artichoke Capital!) than a seaside villa or marina—but any hesitation melted away the moment we stepped inside. Waking up to the sound of rolling waves set the tone for the entire trip. Each evening we were treated to beautiful sunsets. We ventured on a whale-watching tour in Monterey and were thrilled to see dozens of majestic humpback whales and playful sea lions. Despite our best efforts, we didn’t spot any marine life from the deck. One member of our group ran the Big Sur Marathon. We loved being close enough to drop them off at the bus and sprint back home for a few extra hours of sleep before cheering them on at the finish line!Back at the property, the pool and hot tub on-site were a wonderful treat after the marathon, and the grounds were perfect for kite flying on breezy afternoons. The accommodations had everything we needed, from a fully equipped kitchen to cozy bedding. Peaceful, picturesque, and perfectly located—this oceanfront gem exceeded every expectation!

Perfect Beach Getaway

We had the most amazing stay! The hosts were so wonderful and very thorough. This house is the best equipped kitchen/home we have ever stayed in. It had everything we could possibly need, even nice pans. The community is quiet and lovely. The beach was absolutely gorgeous!! 10/10 recommend.

Great location, relaxing time

Stayed here while visiting the Monterey Aquarium. We were originally planning on staying right in Monterey or Pacific Grove but so glad we found this property. Just a great location. Quiet relaxing time by the ocean. Nice that it is in a gated community with not a lot of traffic. Will definitely go back next time we visit Monterey.

Nice view, but...

The Host is great! John responded quickly and with humor when we had trouble unlocking the door. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The accommodations are dull and uncomfortable. Not enough comfortable, family-friendly seating in the main room. Beds are okay but creaky and unstable. The headboards constantly banged against the wall, and when we would turn over, it would wake us up. No one slept well…except the one person who slept alone in the king bed! We were asked to take out the trash, but the trash can was half full and smelly. Some dishes were put away unclean.We stayed here for a weekend in mid-December. We were surprised how close all units are connected. Luckily, we had no neighbors, so we had some privacy. We would not recommend this property to a family. The whole operation was a bit slipshod.

Artichoke capitol of the world

The view of the beach with the seals playing in the waves was wonderful and walking the beach collecting sea glass was awesome! The owners were wonderful communicating with us especially when an earthquake and tsunami warning occurred! Aside from all of this, I think the owners need to up their house presentation and hospitality. Grey, discolored towels, greasy, old pots and pans, dirty, non-working soap dispensers and lack of basics like sponges to clean counters or dust and cobwebs and old food in couch cushions really disappointed us! This could be a wonderful place to experience and appreciate the beauty of the Monterey Coast if only the house lived up to it's hype!!

Great views

This home was perfect for our get together with longtime friends. The beach location was wonderful and we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. It’s a condo unit towards the back of the property and we were able to negotiate the road in the dark. I had trouble with the access code, user error no doubt but the owner checked to ensure we were in. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. I would recommend this comfortable, nice home on the beach!

A mixed review

This is a very big place ( 3 full bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms) probably could be great for a family or even up to three couples. It’s right on the beach and there are great views and sunsets! Some of the bathrooms had been nicely updated as well. Unfortunately we had to rate it lower because there were things like carpeting and walls that were dirty and needed cleaning. In addition there were some things that needed updating too like kitchen cabinets.

Condo was great and we enjoyed our stay. However, although the weather was pleasant it did get warm in the condo at night and there was no air or fans. We considered leaving a window open in the master BR but it didn’t have a screen.

Secluded get away

Thank you much for helping make our anniversary trip magical! We loved our stay and even saw a sea lion, dolphins and a few whale spouts from the bedroom window. Truly enjoyed the peace and quiet and natural beauty.

Beautiful and Peaceful

The property was beautiful and the setting was so peaceful and serene. We were in for my son's wedding in Monterey and unfortunately the first few days we just needed a luggage depository, a place to clean up, change and sleep. The last day and 1/2 we were able to relax and enjoy the property. The climate/temperature was fantastic! The ocean breeze and the sound of the wave were the only sounds heard. My son and I decided it would have been the perfect place to live during the COVID lock down. The property was close enough to anything you might need or want to do, i.e. cannery row, Monterey Aquarium, but far enough out that you could truly relax. I would like to thank the owner's for sharing their piece of paradise!

Ahh the comforts of an ocean home

Oh my goodness did this place feel like home away from home! Great place to enjoy some time out of the hustle and bustle of daily city life. Thank you John and Lisa for sharing your beach home! The location was secluded, quiet, felt safe, had views of the ocean and the beach and ocean were just a few short steps away. The home was well stocked and really felt welcoming. Peaceful Retreat

The house had very gorgeous views and worked out very well with 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The house was cozy and comfortable even though it was very spacious. Me and my girlfriends had a lovely time here, it is in a remote area and I wish there was less fog so the visibility was better but the cool weather felt amazing visiting from Arizona.

Great location

Great location with a short walk to the sand. Easy drive to Monterey, and Castroville had lots of great places to eat. The security guards at the HOA were very nice and helpful. The property had all the amenities we expect of a vacation rental, which made packing easy and food prep simple.

Great location!!

Great location on a quiet/private beach. Such an amazing spot. The unit is a bit outdated in the master bath and carpeting upstairs. With that said, the owners DO seem to be working towards updates as the other 2 bathrooms had been renovated. Plenty of space to spread out for my family of 4. The teens loved the old school video game is the guest bedroom. Communication with the owners was exceptional. We had a small glitch and John responded right away and even answered a couple questions for us regarding visiting San Francisco. Overall, I would definitely visit again!!!

We loved the privacy and safety of the property. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the city and gives you a private beach area. We would just drive into Monterey daily for activities. The view from the condo is just outstanding. The condo itself is very roomy and has magnificent large windows. There's a great Thai Seafood restaurant not too far called Lemongrass. We appreciated the communication from the owners as well.

Peaceful ocean vibes

We stayed at Jon and Lisa‘s beautiful property in Monterey Dunes. The condo has beautiful views of the ocean, and a short walk gets you down to the beach. The amenities are on the left when drive onto the property. The pool, tennis courts, pickle ball, soccer, and bocce ball court kept us busy throughout our stay. Thank you for a beautiful peaceful trip!

This beach property has been in our family for over 20 years. As kids, we remember taking family vacations to Monterey Dunes Colony. We enjoyed spending time together in the sweet sanctuary of the private beach...a beach that is so private, it feels as if it is your very own.

We made memories on the sands of this beach, watching dolphins, otters and even whales swim by! We collected sea shells and sand dollars and giggled as tiny, digging crabs left behind bubbles in the sandy surf. We built driftwood forts and elaborate sand castles - we dug endless holes and studied everything that washed ashore. We delighted in the snowy plover running so fast they seemed to be on wheels. And after watching birds fly home for the night across an orange sunset, we ran excitedly into the house for hot chocolate and a warm bubble bath.

As adults, we find serenity with each inhale of ocean breeze and relax as we gaze at the sunset horizon that brings a crisp moon to watch over the diamond studded sky. We are grateful to be able to share this magical place and we welcome you here to find peaceful retreat and make special memories of your own.
