This modified Windjammer model cottage has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Two bedrooms and an updated shower bath (without a tub) are on each side of a remodeled and updated kitchen. Living room, dining room, extra large front screened porch and huge Florida room in the back create one floor living with 3 separate conversation areas. The back yard is decked and fenced on ground level for small children. there is an outside shower and a storage shed with bikes, umbrellas and beach chairs. which you can use at your own risk.

The home is comfortably decorated and has everything you need for a wonderful beach vacation including full washer and dryer. This house is 0.8 miles from the beach and adults can walk in 20 minutes. Biking is easy and the Bethany Beach shuttle offers a free ride to the beach! Two parking passes for beach parking are included. You can buy weekly pool passes for 2 pools, tennis and pickle ball.
Please, no groups of young people under 21!

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Follow the directions for checking out that are in the white tenant handbook in the living room.

Code enforced neighborhood quiet hours are from 10:00pm-8:00am. Renters and their guests assume responsibility for their actions on the property.
There is no daily cleaning. Rent covers the cleaning when you leave. Remember to bring linens, towels, food, soaps and paper products!!
2 parking passes for the beach areas are provided. Lock your car when you use the pass. Passes must be returned to avoid a $50 charge.

House has a great spacious layout. Bedrooms and bathrooms were small but sufficient. Pictures are accurate. Loved the house being on a dead end street! Love BethanyWest, we have been coming down almost 40 years. Will be back!

Eleanor's cottage in the woods was as described. Our group was comfortable there & we had a wonderful weekend away!The community was perfect with two swimming pools (10 admission per person each day) and lots of quiet streets for biking or walking. The trolley goes through the development for transportation to the beach or Boardwalk, restaurants, etc..Not sure we would choose Eleanor's place again. When we arrived, we found several areas that were not cleaned - toothpaste spit in one of the sinks with long, dark hair, kitchen sink was not washed out after the last renters, the refrigerator was dirty and people's things were left there from the tenants before and we found several items under our beds, like socks, hair, accessories, etc.. When I reached out to the owner, I did not get a response. But when we got back from our afternoon activities, it was obvious that someone was in the house and did tidying up while we were not there. That felt like a violation of our privacy.A simple communication with the owner would have been a remedy for all of this.

Great place for a Family Trip

Great stay. Home was beautiful and comfortable for adults and kids. Very nice and ample shared space for families from the porch to the living room, kitchen, dining and back sun room. Perfect for a large family or two families of 4 with the split sleeping areas on each side. Nearby supermarket and food and beach accessiblility. Perfect for a nice private family vacation!

Fantastic Stay

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. It’s such a charming cottage and great location. We loved the two screened in sunrooms at either end. The beds were really comfy. We would highly recommend.

House has character with nice neighborhood amenities. We enjoyed the space which was overall clean and comfortable. Neighborhood pools and pickle ball courts were a great bonus. Pleasant quiet neighborhood with convenient trolley to town and beach.

Lots of space!

The house was much bigger than I even imagined and enabled everyone to spread out and not feel like they were on top of each other. The outdoor space was private and cozy, and the indoor space was comfortable and met all of our needs, I especially like the set up of this house for my elderly parents who only needed to navigate three steps to get in. I would definitely book this house again. Thank you, Eleanor for a lovely place.

Last Trip of Summer

Place was nice and clean, but listing was deceiving, did not know until night before we were leaving, that we had to bring our own sheets and towels, we don’t own the bed sizes that was needed, and the pool had a charge per day per person, there was 6 in my family, to use the pool, would have been 60 dollars a day, that’s crazy, the listing said it had 2 pools , never said there was a fee, we go on 4-5 vacations a year, an never been charged to use the pool or bring my own sheets and towels

Great location for a relaxing beach week.

Perfect house set up for parents and three kids and their guests all between late teens and mid twenties. The front porch was our favorite spot for morning coffee, afternoon reading or evening card games. The back sunroom was a nice escape spot and maybe nap zone. The beach chairs and bikes were a nice touch and in good condition. Bethany West neighborhood was fun with super easy access to the trolley and the rec facilities were worth the renters fee. Note to those who like to paddle board or kayak on the canal - Bethany West does not let you store at the canal. You must bring it back to the house. We’d definitely stay again.

Rundown place with broken floorboards

The house had a damp mildew smell throughout. The living room furniture had rips and tears. The floorboards were broken with cracks and splinters. The floor had dirty toys not removed. The dishes were still in dishwasher from previous runs. It was not as expected.

We are beach people and have had eighteen successful years of fun beach going in Bethany Beach for my family and friends. We have also shared our cozy house with many happy renters.

Why they chose this property

My family has always loved and vacationed at the beach. I wanted to have a beach house within about 3 hours from our home in VA. We also wanted a pool and recreation facilities that are easy to get to and use. This house has all we wanted and it's located in a family neighborhood within walking/biking distance to the beach. The large screened front porch and the windowed Florida room in the back create 3 living areas inside! We love this house and so do our renters!!

What makes this property unique

This house has all you need on one level. There are four steps to enter the house, but the rest is on one level. The two separate sleeping areas allow for separation of families if you want that. There is an outside shower for "after beach" rinsing and plenty of room for kids to play away from the adult conversations or a game area and a talking area....your choice! It's furnished comfortably.
