Lush Venice Beach Oasis - 4 doors from the beach

The primary suite has a California king and its own patio where you can sit and enjoy the garden—including a romantic claw-foot bathtub. The ensuite bathroom with a huge skylight has 2 shower heads along with a rainhead. An upstairs suite at the back provides another bedroom with a queen bed plus a charming sitting area with a twin-size daybed. The dining area has an L-shaped cushioned banquette opening to a well-equipped kitchen, and to the bright, open living room with a tiled fireplace. Glass French doors open to a cozy back bedroom with a full-size daybed. Curl up during the day, or turn back the coverlet and close the doors and blackout curtains for a private refuge at night. The large back bathroom has a generous glassed-in shower, and both bathrooms feature heated Japanese bidet toilets. If you prefer your showers outside, or just want to rinse off after the beach, there is a hot-water shower in the garden as well.

Because this house is made for outdoor living. Lounge on daybeds or the built-in banquette around a large Moroccan tile table on the expansive deck—the perfect place to have your morning coffee or relax after a day on the beach before firing up the grill for al fresco dining.

Please be aware that this walk-street house backs on an urban alley and there can be truck traffic early in the morning. This has never bothered us, but in case you’re a very light sleeper we provide sound machines and earplugs in all the bedrooms. Please understand that that the twin-size daybed upstairs is in a sitting area outside a bedroom with a queen bed. This means the person using the queen bedroom will need to walk through the room with the twin to get access to the rest of the house. Also, this house has no parking on site, and parking in the alley is not allowed except briefly for drop off or pick up, but during the busier months we are happy to provide a parking place about .4 miles away. Just let us know if you will be bringing a car.

Charming gem in the middle of Venice

Checking into this property was super easy, Kerry was awesome! Everything about this property was in order and they were very accommodating! The outdoor space is a great place to unwind after being on the beach all day! Bathrooms are all super modern and nice!

Perfect getaway by the beach

Loved the house! Very quiet and close to the beach. Only drawback was the homeless people nearby, although we never felt unsafe. It was cold when we were there and could have used more blankets on the bed, otherwise it was perfect!

Venice oasis

This was the perfect place for our graduation celebration weekend. It is as stunning as the photos, the beds are comfortable, the tub and hand-made bath bombs a luxurious treat. Even though it is close to the main street, we heard no noise. Would love an occasion to come back again.

A perfect beach getaway

Oh, I love this house! I was looking for a place to escape to as I work on a writing project and found this beacon of hope amidst all of the other cold, modern cookie cutter rentals. Everything is appointed tastefully and with comfort in mind, and I really enjoyed using the fireplace and the outdoor bath tub! The proximity to the beach is great, too. I walked over every day to watch the sun set. I hope to come back during warmer weather so I can better utilize the patio and beach access.

If you want "old school Venice" and to be steps from the beach...

We had a fabulous vacation over the Fourth of July. It was wonderful to be a block from the beach and the house felt very welcoming and comfortable. The yard is magical... we spent time each morning, noon, and night enjoying it. The host was helpful and attentive. Being a holiday weekend, it was very noisy (the house shares an alley with several bars/restaurants) but we still had the best time.

The house had everything we needed (and more). It sleeps 6 comfortably. The backyard patio and garden area are amazing and the lights at night made it a great place to hang out and relax. The décor is comfortable and very Venice. You cannot beat this location. Steps to the Venice pier and restaurants. Scooter and bike rentals steps away for easy trips to Santa Monica pier or Venice boardwalk. Excellent rental and we cannot recommend it enough!

Oasis right in the heart of everything!

This was an amazing stay for myself, husband and two other couples. Steps from the beach, steps from a fun Venice beach bar/restaurant area and the best part…. The gardens and outdoor hang out area!!! We spent every night and morning at the common table out back which was so relaxing in the midst of all the tropical plants and fountain. Was a bit loud at night but that’s expected in a highly trafficked area. Communication with the property was so easy and we had a wonderful time! Book this place!!!!!!

Great house for a Venice Beach visit

We loved staying at this property. The owners were so welcoming and made sure that all details were taken care of. The house is beautiful. We loved spending time outside on the deck. We used the parking at a nearby hotel which worked pretty well. The house is on an alley and the alley is very loud at night. It didn’t bother us in the master bedroom which is in the back of the house, but the people staying in the front of the house commented. We highly recommend this property!

Cute house in a fantastic location!

It was awesome staying so close to the beach, and right near all the great shops and restaurants on Washington Blvd. The house is really fun and beautiful, just be aware that 2 of the 4 sleeping areas do not have a door to shut if you're aiming for everyone to have full privacy (the photos of the spaces clearly show the curtain and loft-like stairway of those spaces, so just look carefully to assess if it will work for you). Our group did not care about that, so we were all happy with our rooms. The mattresses were all super comfy, too! Being close to the local businesses means a little street noise in the evenings, so it was a really nice touch that most of the rooms had a white noise machine and earplugs to help guests muffle the sounds. I'd say avoid having a car with you if possible, overnight parking can be found if you drive around the area long enough, but it's a hassle. I would gladly rent here again, everyone in our group had a great time!

Beautiful hideaway in perfect location

My coworkers and I had a fantastic time at this cute house in the center of Venice Beach. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful about all of the decor, about all of the noise-cancelling accoutrements to allow us to sleep soundly through the night (it can be a bit noisy in this area on the weekends), and with our check-in and check-out process. It was a little difficult to figure out how many beds had there own physical room with their own door, so I would double-check with the hosts before booking, but other than that, everything was well-communicated and exactly as advertised. All in all, a great spot in a truly perfect location!

Dreamy winter getaway

This house is a total gem. Not only is it as advertised, it has the vibe of a long family history—original tile, groovy rugs, even the books in it were great, as though everyone who lived here, and visits, has great taste. We spent hours by the fireplace and in the garden reading. I’m afraid to rave too much as it’ll be booked for infinity. On top of everything else, now my family is demanding heated toilet seats like the ones at this place!

Perfectly appointed house, an oasis in the city

This house is the perfect combination of the eccentricity of Venice beach with a beautiful and private Oasis. The garden is a canopy of well manicured plants with a fantastic outdoor shower and always running fountain. The home has a boho feel but with luxurious appointments throughout. The beds are fantastic and the owners use all high quality products in the home. We have stayed in many VRBO properties and these owners go above and beyond to make sure you get the most out of the property. They are definitely the best hosts we have ever had. I do notice there are some reviews about the parking. These hosts pay for a valet spot just down the street. It took me 5 minutes to walk there and it was very convenient. It a city environment, this is the top of the line choice to provide guests. Just steps to the beach down a pedestrian only walkway to one of the best stretches of beach in California. All around 5 stars for this property, the location, and the hosts. Anytime we stay in Venice we will stay here.

Wonderful Venice Oasis

We had a wonderful stay over the 4th of July!! The back yard was definitely the highlight of the house. Such a magical little garden that leads to a walkway and out to the beach. The house was very well appointed and had everything we needed. Parking was the only tricky part, especially over the holiday weekend. Otherwise, loved the house and really enjoyed our stay!

Amazing location!

You can’t beat the location, parking was a bit of a pain but we found there was not much need for our car given everything was walking distance. The garden courtyard was our favorite spot to hang.

I enjoyed my stay. Can be a bit challenging for parking but I always found a place. Everything went very smoothly except I was given the wrong code to enter the house at checkin. But a quick call to the Kerry cleared that up right away.

Great Balinese style Venice Beach family home !

House worked well for family and grandparents. I had a home on Guam and this house had so many of the same features! Loved it. It’s a little hard parking a car so if you don’t need one just as easy to Uber and walk. Beds were comfortable and just overall a great home.

As a couple, we straddle both parts of California. Debbie grew up in Los Angeles, Tom in the Bay Area, and we love both, but Venice Beach is the best! We hope you enjoy our beloved beach house when we're away.

Why they chose this property

Half a block away are easy bike, surfboard, paddleboard, boogie board and wetsuit rentals. Our favorite yoga studio is right across the back alley. You can sail or parasail from the Marina. Walk to fantastic restaurants and nightlife--ask us about our favorites! We're at the end of the pier and the boardwalk, and within steps of pretty much anything you can think of for a fun beach vacation.
Venice is a beach area that also has an urban vibe. While on a quiet walk street, this house is also close to Washington Boulevard restaurants and bars, and the area can be bustling on weekends and holidays.

What makes this property unique

Please be aware that the third bedroom, with its full-size bed, is separated from the living room by black-out curtains, not a traditional door. The twin-size daybed upstairs is in a sitting area outside a bedroom with a queen bed. This means the person using the queen bedroom will need to walk through the room with the twin to get access to the rest of the house.
