Steve is an excellent host and this property is perfect for a couple or small family. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked, lake easily accessible, and boats and dock were in perfect condition. It’s just the place for a summer escape.
We stayed here for a long weekend. Our host made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed fishing and kayaking on the lake. Our kids had a great time. We caught some fish and saw a bald eagle! We would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing, low key getaway.
We stayed at Steven's place for 5 days and enjoyed every minute of it. The place has everything you need and there's a well stocked store 10 minutes away. The place is clean and the beds are comfortable. We went to two concerts a Bethel Woods which is a pleasant half- hour drive away. A two minute walk and you're at your own private spot on the lake.
Highly recommended!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the home for 3 nights. The location next to Mohican Lake was great. Communication with Steven was very prompt as well.
We had such a great time here! Just a perfect spot to relax, enjoy nearby trails, kayak on the lake, nap on the hammock... We are looking forward to going back! Steven is a fantastic host!
Great host and property. Recent improvements were awesome especially front deck if you have pets or small children the gate was prefect to keep them contained.
The cabin was super quaint and clean! We arrived late, so Steven had all the lights on for us upon arrival, which made it nice bringing things inside in the dark. The lake is a short walk down the path, but the beautiful sunsets are worth the walk.
Steven was super accommodating and allowed us to drive down to the fire pit to make it easier with our things. He also allowed us to check out a little later since we got in so late…..thanks so much Steven! We would definitely stay again!
Our family of 5 (parents + 3 kids) spent a long weekend here. We were looking for a getaway and this place was perfect. We spent late mornings walking the nearby trails and afternoons kayaking and swimming in the lake. Steven was very responsive though everything we needed was there. Really enjoyed the stay, looking forward to going back.
My wife and I were looking To get away with our three young children for a few days. We are lucky enough to have found this house. The property owner, Steven was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. The property manager Sue was outstanding throughout our stay. The house was perfect for us: Cozy and clean. The location was awesome. The lake was beautiful and we got to use the rowboat to do some fishing. All in all it was a relaxing and fun get away for us.
First time I’m renting this house I never thought everything‘s gonna be that easy and perfect I feel like I went into my own house check in process and everything was Super easy, clean and spotless and perfect service every time I call Stevean answer his phone i Actually called him one time for the Wi-Fi password everything was super easy to manage it’s unbelievable I feel like in my own house I will definitely rent that place again !!!👍
My fiancé and I stayed for a weekend. We visited in the early fall and the weather was perfect. The home was very welcoming, clean, looked recently renovated. It was very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 dogs. We had an extra room that did not use but it was as nice as the other one. We visited local places like restaurants, parks and the museum of Woodstock. Steven was very responsive to all our questions. Room for improvement: the place could use a couple of kitchen items like a good skillet and a mixing bowl for those who want to cook a home made meal. The dock area was a little cluttered and not so inviting, however there is a love seat swing with the perfect view of the sunset over the lake. Overall, we loved our stay.

Great time!
Steve was a great host and a perfect gentleman. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival, right down to the Happy Birthday Balloon he tied to the kitchen chair, nice touch! The lake is beautiful and private. On our first trip down the path to the water we were greeted by a flock of turkeys and a herd of deer. Lakeside dock and deck area are great for enjoying the beauty of the water. John boat and electric motor were ideal for fishing. I'll be back! Thanks Steve.

Staying here for a long weekend getaway has become a yearly tradition for my wife, our three greyhounds, and me. The cabin and location are amazing, Steven (the host) could not be more welcoming, and each year there are new improvements to the property.
This year we were welcomed by a new pathway to the cabin and amazing deck with a gate. The deck is an amazing place where we can hang out with our hounds off the leash and not worry about them running off.
As every time before, the cabin is clean, well stocked, and comfortable. Steven always checks in to see if everything is ok or if we need anything.
We also love exploring the area and hiking. This year we discovered a dog friendly winery nearby.
We are already looking forward to our visit next year and are eager to see what other improvements Steven makes to the property.
When we arrived at the property, we were met by Steven with a very warm welcome. Steven walked us around to make sure we understood how to use everything. Very, very clean and comfortable. The cottage has everything you need, including peace and quiet! Wi-Fi worked beautiful plenty of TV channels too, if you so choose. You must go down to the lake, beautiful sunsets just overall very peaceful. There is a nice size Weber grill on the deck, which was very clean that we enjoyed using. There is a food store called Pecks, about a 10 minute ride, very easy to find. Nearby Barryville had two restaurants that we tried, one was Barryville Oasis serving Mexican and B.V.H. servicing a mix of burgers, wings and so on. Shrewd Fox Brewery right around corner from Pecks market, the couple that run it were so nice. Overall, driving around you’ll see a lot of small shops, antique stores all types of restaurants just a real great time. If you have several days, you can get a lot accomplished if you just map everything out and also a lot of the merchants we visited were very helpful regarding other places that you might enjoy which we did. Oh cannot forgot, the various parks/ trails are beautiful. We will be back, so much more to see.

Upstate Paradise - Beautiful Lake, Great Location, Great Host!
I just first want to say that I've been renting in Sullivan County for 8 years and this has been overall my FAVORITE experience! The house was quaint and perfect for my girlfriend, mother, and I to spend a nice quiet week. This house is located in a great location near places to eat, farmer's markets, Peck's grocery store, Kadampa meditation temple, St. Volodymyr Ukrainian church, the "haunted" Burn Brae mansion, Lumberland Circle Park, and other attractions. The lake is so beautiful this time of year and I actually caught a huge bass not far from the dock. (A 4lb.10 ounce giant!) Not only were the accommodations great, but I can't say enough about Steve, our gracious host. He was so nice and he was always there when we needed him. We had trouble with one of the oar-locks and he came down and replaced it on the spot! Amazing guy!!!! He really went above and beyond to make our stay the best as possible. I would recommend this house for anyone looking to get away for a great vacation in the Catskills.
Steven was great in communicating and extremely prompt/friendly. I have to be honest though about the cleanliness of the place. It was not consistent with the other reviews so I was disappointed as that’s why I decided to book this property. The shower did not appear to be freshly cleaned. There were bugs on the pillow in the spare bedroom. We could feel dirt and dust on our feet when walking barefoot inside. The blinds in the living room were broke or jammed so we didn’t feel comfortable sitting in the living room (we live in the city and like privacy) at night so we resorted to watching TV on our iPad in the bedroom. Thankfully the WiFi was good! Great location and cute property, just underwhelmed on the experience based on the reviews.
My wife and I stayed here for five days with our four greyhounds. Most hosts are unwilling to allow so many dogs, but we were welcomed here. The cabin was perfect. It is clean and roomy enough to accommodate us all.
The living room is comfortable with a television with cable service and to which able to cast your streaming media.
The kitchen is well stocked including all sorts of appliances (microwave, toaster, blender, and two types of coffee makers). The rooms are quiet and comfortable. The bathroom is clean and well stocked with towels, soaps, shampoos, and lotions.
Outside there is a nice porch with a picnic table and a new gas grill. Beyond that is a lovely garden with a larger table and a little fire pit. We very much enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the peace of the surrounding area.
A few minutes walk down the private road the house is located on is the lake. This was the perfect walk for our dogs in the morning and evening. At the lake you have access to various sitting areas and a little pier. There are row boats and kayaks available to take out on the lake. We didn't because of the aforementioned four dogs. The sitting areas are great for reading, taking in the views of the lake, and especially watching the sunsets.
The location of the cabin is great. There are so many places nearby to go on hikes (all levels) and the Delaware River is also not far away. There are little hamlets a short drive away where you can find markets, restaurants, gas stations, and other supplies. I highly recommend the Shrewd Fox Brewery in Eldred (great beers and ciders).
The host Steven and the property manager Sue are wonderful. Sue welcomed us and made us feel at home. She occasionally checked in via text to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. They both responded quickly to any inquiry. We truly appreciated how dog welcoming and friendly they both were.
We had an amazing time and we look forward to going back!
We had a relaxing week staying in this cozy house in the woods. The house is clean and stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed cooking each night (grocery store just 4 miles away), and hanging out on the deck. The property is beautiful and the dogs enjoyed their walks down to the lake, nights by the fire pit, and we even took the rowboat out for a ride. This was the private relaxing retreat that we had hoped for. Thank you Steve for your hospitality!
Steven’s cabin was lovely! It was the perfect stay to rest & rejuvenate! His place was spotless! The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, grilling and eating on the patio. We loved walking down to the lake each day. Steven was easy to contact, prompt to get back to me and is right on the property (in a different cabin). I would highly recommend Steven's place and we would definitely stay here again!
Excellent lake. As a fisherman, the lake provided nice bass and pickerel hitting every time we went out on the boats provided. Amazing fishing and swimming. Great vacation
My wife and I returned to the cabin with our four greyhounds after staying here in the late spring and having an amazing time. This visit was equally as great. Fall is a wonderful time to visit the area.
As on our previous visit, we were welcomed warmly (even with our four dogs). Steven was there to great us this time. I was impressed with the upgrades he made to the cabin since our first visit which was only a few months before. There were some new appliances and some new comfortable couches (which we covered with sheets in case the dogs hopped up). The place was very clean and well equipped as it was before.
We enjoyed our walks down to the lake, our hikes on nearby trails, and our visits to great famers markets. We also made use of the nice gas grill to cook our meals and the fire pit to make s'mores during the crisp evenings.
We look forward to many future visits!
My family stayed at this beautiful property for 5 days for our annual family reunion for the first time this July and it was amazing. My husband and first saw the cottage and decided that we’d stay there. After years coming up this way staying in hotels and camping we decided to try a house where we could all be together. After talking to Stephen we realized there were 2 other places on that same property and more family could be all in the same area! We were so happy we finally found a perfect spot for our future reunions. Sue met us, showed us around, gave some recommendations of restaurants and was available by phone for any questions or problems. The house is clean. The kitchens were first rate, anything you need that you forgot to bring was there from shampoo to towels. Stephen and Jasmine are the kindest and friendliest hosts, I feel like we become friends and can’t wait till next year!
Property manager Sue was there to greet us. She texted us the map of the road to turn into as we were approaching so we wouldn’t miss it. She showed us around and explained where things were. We had access to the lake with kayaks and row boats. Fishing wasn’t great bc of the recent rain but the lake was great! It’s small and cozy. Was just the right size for us 4 guys to kick back and relax. Looking forward to renting the other rental once it’s completed. Thanks Steve and Sue!
