About this property
Treat yourself to water, mountain and sunset views, even while doing the dishes.
Treat yourself to a spacious home on 5 beautiful acres with water views, fabulous sunsets, totally surrounded by nature! If you work from home, you'll enjoy quiet and great internet service. Experience the calming effect of walking our labyrinth in the cedar grove. We are tucked into the wetlands on the shores of Drayton Harbor, looking across to White Rock, Canada, and the mountains of Vancouver BC. We are minutes away from many different beaches, golf courses, restaurants and bars. Close to the water-slide park, mini-golf, go-karts, fishing, boating and different year round activities.
We are in 'the middle of nowhere' yet surprisingly close to I-5, many beaches and all kinds of shopping and dining. (Great takeout and delivery options too.)
Eagle House is ideal for 4, very comfortable for 6, 7, or 8. Our expansive Great Room inspires freedom of thought, movement and creativity.
WiFi instructions are in the White Notebook on the information table by the front door. The Wi-Fi is great for those who can work remotely.
Our flat screen T.V. receives local stations from Bellingham, USA and B.C., Canada. We do not have cable T.V. Many guests enjoy the oldies on local and Canadian stations! We have a vast array of DVDs from various genres.
The whole house has a high-end water treatment system which softens and purifies all the water naturally, restoring the life force. Great for drinking and bathing too.
We are happy to make suggestions when asked, based on the interests of the guests, particularly with regard to local dining, attractions and nature oriented destinations.

Very accommodating, we had to add days and Laura made it so easy. The home was perfect for us, and we enjoyed the labyrinth. Thanks for a great stay!

Thanks Deborah you are welcome anytime. We love being a retreat for writers, couples, and small family get-togethers.
This is the second time we've rented this property as we love it so much. Always super clean, too many amenities to list. The house has a great open floor plan and the yard is fantastic. Communication with the host is always wonderful. We will absolutely stay here again.

And you were the perfect guests. You are welcome back anytime!
Rented the house for the weekend to attend a family reunion. Plenty of space to have some of them over for a dinner one evening. Place was clean and well stocked. Host was very friendly and helpful. The beautiful peacocks coming over from the neighbor's was a bonus!
Our stay at Eagle House was very enjoyable. We had everything we needed and there were enough stores/restaurants in the area that we had many choices of everything at our fingertips. Besides nature's sounds and visits from bunnies and frogs, everything was very quiet, save for a neighbor at the next house that provided haunting, but beautiful accordion music from their balcony. The concerts didn't last long, but they added to the charm of the area for us.
Overall a good stay. Can't control what's happening in the neighborhood, but most nights starting around 10:30 p.m. there was some kind of disturbance ranging from sawing and hammering to weed eating and lawn mowing. There was only 1 night out of six that we did not have our rest disturbed.

Rich, we are so sorry that happened. We do wish you had told us of the problem the first or second night so we could have taken care of it. There are only 3 neighbors down the Private drive. We know all of them and would have happily checked in with them to find what the noise was about and see that it be done in the day. This is the first we have ever heard of noise at night in 12 years. Most guests comment on the peace and quiet and how well they sleep. Again, we are very sorry you were disturbed.
This was my very first time using VRBO on my own.
Everything was superb. We had plenty of blankets and the beds were comfortable. Owner met me and gave me a tour showing everything.
Then there was a wonderful book to refer to for what I may have forgotten.
WIFI was excellent.
Stayed the week before the 4th of July so not real quiet but the noise was a distance away. Overall I would say very quiet area if it had not been that holiday.
Didn't spend too much time at the location because we visited family in Canada but this was a great place to land for sleeping and showering.
Close to beaches and we just didn't have the time.
We will be back and make sure we have time to check out the areas beaches and parks.
Thanks for everything
Brenda
We loved our stay. The owner greeted us and made sure we were able to park the boat. Her personal tour was very useful and welcoming. This place was very quiet and peaceful. Very close to Birch Bay, Semiahmoo and Blaine. The weather wasn't the best and the owner took the time to text and ask if we needed anything to make our stay better since we were indoors more.
Plenty of parking..even for our boat. Though it was a tight turn with the boat and trailer.
The house was stocked. Lots of twin beds, only 1 queen as described. 2 twins in 1 room queen in the master, 3 additional twins in great room....all were very comfortable. I would suggest an additional queen in the 2nd bedroom but then again, this set up works very well for larger groups who do not want to share beds and was great for us.
Laundry facilities came stocked with unscented products which was very helpful with the rain we had. The BBQ is available though we didn't use it.
Heads up, there is little to no TV. Keep that in mind if it is too stormy to go outside or if you have a TV addicted family member, be prepared for little to no live TV. DVDs are available and a surprisingly wide range of types are available. I found no TV was perfect...dad did not LOL
Only downside is the rotating of water use. This can be challenging with larger groups but is VERY common in this area because of the proximity to the water. We rotated showers and had absolutely no issues and it worked smoothly for 6 adults
My sister and I enjoyed staying in this home. It was very well equipped with anything we needed. The owner is nearby and was responsive to any questions. There is a lot of information available as to what to do in the area in the notebook in the home. I enjoyed the short walk down the driveway to look at the harbor in the mornings and evenings. I would definitely recommend this property.
A very clean, roomy and comfortable in every way. I am used to short rentals having uncomfortable beds. Not so at the Eagle Power Retreat lodge. Every bed and sofa exceeded my hopes in this respect. A lot of open space provided a great opportunity for yoga, stretching, and even walking. I use a walker and while temperatures outside weren't comfortable for a walk, I was able to move safely inside.
A bird feeder with extra seeds for a refill provided a whole day entertainment for the whole family, drawing several kind of local birds, including a native black squirrel.
Sunrise and sunset were very enjoyable as the lodge has plenty windows on the east and west side.
We'd definitely like to return and get to know the surroundings in a different season but to spend several days during the deep winter at the lodge was a special treat that we'd gladly do again.

Nina, it was a delight to host you and we would welcome you back anytime. It is a different experience every season, each with its own beauty.
Comfortable and quiet cabin in a beautiful area. Not a lot to explore on foot, but a short drive to a nice walking trail on the peninsula. Close to Blaine. A good place to unplug and unwind.
The property was perfect for what we were looking for. Our annual crabbing weekend was a huge success. We took extra care with the owner's property by spreading tarps under the area we crabbed. We did our best to leave no trace when we left, hoping to get to come back next year!!!!
Three adult family members enjoyed another stay at Eagle House (the third stay for some of us). We appreciate that we can count on the home being very clean and the kitchen well equipped.
We enjoyed walking the labyrinth on the property and watched the birds at the house and at the beach. We also checked out local parks and other sites. The sunsets were amazing!
Communication with our hosts is always excellent. We highly recommend this VRBO home!
This was our second time to stay at the Eagle House. The house is very clean and spacious. The location is within easy driving distance to multiple golf courses, which is perfect for our family.
We enjoyed watching the many birds who visit the feeder outside the living room window. We also walked the labyrinth. Great communication with the host. Our stay was so enjoyable that we've already booked our next visit!
We can win from out of state for reunion & my birthday with our PNW family. Everyone loved the house! It’s so clean, very spacious, and the perfect place so close to beaches. We will be coming back!
It was a quick check in and it was a great place for camping trip owner was friendly

About the host
Hosted by Laura Sullivan
My husband and I love nature, especially bird-life, and feel fortunate to live among so many of them. We adore our trees, having planted over 600 since moving here 33 years ago. We are fans of Rick Steves' style travel, and we love great food and great company.
Why they chose this property
What do we treasure most about the Eagle Retreat House? 1) The privacy- we’re in the middle of nature, yet within minutes of many beaches, stores, banks, and the freeway. 2) The nighttime sky- No city lights dimming your view of the stars. 3) Nature surrounds you with wetlands, forest, meadow and tidal bay. 4) The Birds; eagles, herons, hawks, blue jays, crows, seagulls, towhees, owls, robins, finches, swallows, hummingbirds, and more. Including the rare ‘brandt’ during the April Birding Festival. 5) The animals; mostly deer, rabbits, squirrels, frogs. 6) Every window has a beautiful view! Northside looks over Drayton Harbor and the Semi-ahmoo spit, to White Rock, Canada- and the mountains behind Vancouver, on a clear day.
What makes this property unique
Views of nature from every window and access to our private labyrinth. Quiet, yet close to water adventures, family fun and golfing. Privacy, no neighbors nearby. A natural bird sanctuary, tucked into the wetlands on the shore of Drayton Harbor, looking across to White Rock, Canada, and the mountains of Vancouver BC.
