This was our second stay at this property and it was a great experience. Beautiful home with great amenities creating a very comfortable stay. We would both stay again and recommend to others. We were in town for a swim meet at Lakeside Swim Club which was an easy walk to the venue.

We loved our stay. The home was very comfortable and so had many lovely design touches! The location was very convenient to many great restaurants although the street noise is a little loud. I would stay here again

Absolutely Delightful!
We came with 2 other couples to enjoy 5 days in Louisville in the fall. We were there to do some bourbon tours as well as Churchhill Downs tour and hopefully to see some colorful leaves. The weather was much better than at home, but not quite as cool as we had hoped! The home was lovely. it was a good set up for us. The 2 bedrooms on the main floor share a bathroom for that floor. There are 2 rooms upstairs (one was a full size bed) and they share a bathroom as well. There is a half bath down in the basement too. The stairs can be a bit tricky so just be careful, if you are unsteady, be sure to nab one of the main floor bedrooms. The house has tons of space to hang out either together or separately. The water pressure in the showers is unbelievable! The home was sparkling clean and felt safe in a great area. Lots of great places to eat nearby, including La Suerte and Noche as well as a pie and ice cream place. YUM! It was centrally located so not far from the tours we were going to.
Property was as described, puplr bathroom and all. Beds were comfortable, had a nice home feeling. We didn't cook on this stay, but kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware. Plenty of shower towels for a long stay. Easy off street parking. Also a great host. We have a Tesla, and the super charging station is less than a mile down the road.

Just perfect!
Welcoming, cozy, & very nostalgic! My husband & I felt totally at home and very comfortable with my mother & our 5 children. There is plenty of room & a very functional kitchen so we are most meals at the house. We just went out to ice skate, get ice cream at Graeter's, go antiquing, & visit the beautiful old churches. It was a wonderful Louisville Christmas!

Threatened with Eviction Over Family Visit
The home is spacious, historic, and conveniently located. However, we are very unsatisfied with this stay for many reasons. The "neighbor" who frequently helped himself to the poorly maintained property during our visit also clearly monitored our every move (in addition to the cameras).During our stay, family visited briefly in the early afternoon to see our three-year-old daughter. There was no disturbance, and we were very respectful of the property. Yet, the owner’s brother—who lives next door—apparently reported us for exceeding the six-person occupancy limit, which we understood to apply only to overnight guests (although the guest book clearly states that more than 6 people have stayed on multiple occasions). We received several emails, calls, and texts from both Evolve and the owner stating our violation, including a threat of eviction. It would have been far more reasonable to contact us first to give the opportunity to clarify, but the owner and sibling-surveillance chose otherwise. Evolve could also have inquired more gently and confirmed the situation instead of immediately jumping to threats against a very respectful family. We are experienced travelers with numerous positive stays across the country (and internationally) and have never received a negative review on any rental. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing experience we have had. We are insulted, and all could have been easily avoided with better communication.

Response from VrboOwner on 9 December 2025
From the owner: To all potential guests, the limit on overnight guests is 6-8, and the maximum number of people in the home at any time, per city permit, is 10.
To maintain compliance, short-term rental hosts must adhere strictly to the requirements set out by local law. Louisville has established penalties for non-compliance, which include fines and revocation of permits. Though Louisville is welcoming, it is committed to preserving the well-being of its residential communities and upholding the respect we have for our neighbors.
We have an excellent reputation, and when a guest reaches out to us, we are happy to assist in any way. We have had numerous guests who have enjoyed our home and have left raving 5-star reviews. We are certain our future guests will enjoy what we have to offer.
The character, location, and amenities of this house made it the perfect spot for our gathering of high school friends visiting Bourbon Country.
The four large bedrooms allowed us to each have our own room with bathrooms conveniently located. There are so many sitting and gathering places that impromptu conversations happened all over the house, all weekend. The house has a great vibe, with the limestone porches, great wood floors and trim, and funky bathrooms. But the updated kitchen made drink and snack preparation very easy. We also made use of the washer and dryer and ironing board in the basement.
The house has a great location, with easy access to the airport, downtown, and Highway 264 to head to distillery visits. In the immediate neighborhood, it was so convenient to head to Kroger’s or Walgreens and very easy to walk to First Watch for breakfast.
Maybe best of all, the owner was incredibly easy to work with an accommodating.
The house is definitely on our list for a return visit.
We first arrived to a binder that gave a history about the house which was really great and interesting. The house has a great koi pond in the back yard and there is a large driveway available behind the house and in front of the external garage (which is not a part of the rental). Note that access to the 3-car driveway is actually from the parallel street behind the house which was confusing at first.
The only downside is that the side of the house sits about 15-20 feet away from a very busy 4-lane road with heavy traffic that pretty much runs hot 24/7. The loud trucks, motorcycles and cars with noisy mufflers took a bit to get used to at first, especially with the thin walls and windows which are expected in a historic house. We turned on the HVAC fan mode to on to help with some white noise. One bedroom upstairs faces the busy street.
Also, it appears that a locked master bedroom is not a part of the rental, so the two bathrooms downstairs share a jack-and-jill bathroom, and the two bedrooms upstairs share another full bathroom at the top of the stairs. We were expecting to have at least one bedroom with an attached bathroom which was more important when traveling with co-workers versus family members.
The location being close to everything was fantastic which was helpful in walking to a few restaurants and being near a ton of stores.
The main living room was a huge hit with tons of space for a big group, and nicely decorated including a giant TV with DirectTV. The big kitchen table was fantastic as well for our business chats. The wifi worked great. And, the laundry room downstairs was great to not have to pack as many clothes.
This house worked perfectly for our group of four while we were in town to visit the Expo center. The house was clean and in a convenient location to get downtown quickly. Would definitely stay again.

Nice Home
We needed a place to crash for a couple of days for a Family wedding and this home was perfect clean and homey
We did some laundry we ate in we played cards watch tv great place to chill
Sleeping everyone said they slept good I know my bed was comfy
Thank you for a great stay
Our stay was top notch. The owner, Karla and her brother, John were very accomodating. We had some vehicle troubles and John not only guided us on where to get parts but drove the guys to the parts store, (a couple of them actually) and helped replace the radiator so we were good to continue our trip and get back home safely to Wisconsin. The house has a lot of charachter and is located in a charming neighborhood, even though it is on a busy street.
We had a great time with friends! Thanks Karla and John!

Lovely home
This is a lovely and spacious home. It is right next to a busy street so there is quite a bit of traffic noise. There were no towels laid out so we had to look around for them and the bathroom rugs were really dirty. The beds are very soft and lumpy. Check in and out was a breeze and we had no major issues. Just expected it to be a little cleaner and better beds for the price.
The house is full of charm and character. Nicely redone kitchen. Good location. The road it’s off of is a bit loud but not too bad. Quick and easy communication with the property manager. Would definitely stay here again.
This house was awesome. Tons of charm, updated kitchen, right in the center of Louisville. With restaurants, bars, groceries nearby, it was a perfect place to stay.
We stayed in this delightful home the first week of June to attend the Ohio Valley Conference Swim Meet at Lakeside Swim Club. It was a perfect fit for our family of five. We were just a short walk to the facility and the house was charming and extremely clean. I especially loved the vintage purple bathroom. All instructions were very clear and we truly enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds, great kitchen, and enjoyable space to rest after a long day at the swim meet.

Home Away from Home
Before we travel we look to see if any homes are available to rent and found this one. Even with our large group it still felt spacious, and it had everything we needed. It is also conveniently located to shops and restaurants. We would definitely rent this house again!

Great House!
We stayed here for an extended weekend for a wedding and could not be happier about the stay. Everything went as well as expected and the house was huge and had more than enough room for the 6 of us.
