Picture perfect
This place is an absolute dream. Everything you could for: quiet rural Vermont setting, massive yard with a fire pit, wood-fired hot tub under the stars. Plenty of space for our guests and we would come back in a heart beat, huge thank you to Dave for greeting us on our arrival, keeping us informed of all the little details we should know about the house, and making us feel welcome.

Beautiful antique farmhouse
This lovingly kept home has excellent sense of place. While we were there, the fields across the street were being hayed. Private and quiet. Beautiful land with walkable pasture and woods. While perhaps not the ultimate in luxury, the home has a refinement more appropriate to the Northeast Kingdom. A convenient and comfortable home base from which to launch your outdoor adventures in this amazing section of the country. The owners are friendly, helpful and accessible. We had a perfectly relaxing vacation there and hope to return in the future.

All The Charm of Yesteryear!
We had driven by this beautiful homestead for 10 yrs while coming to Newark to visit our daughter. When we saw it available for rent, we had to stay there. It was everything we hoped for and more. David and Juli are such gracious hosts. They had heat and lights on for our late arrival plus a lovely welcome gift basket for us. The views were awesome while out hiking about the 90 acres. The library, CD collection and games were a wonderful surprise. We only left to go shopping for the hearty meals we made in the charming kitchen and enjoyed at the inviting farmtable. We were able to spend quality time outside and inside with our daughter and her husband. We will definitely be back again. Thank you Dave and Juli for sharing this precious gem with us!!

Great place to stay for mountain biking
We are fans of mountain biking and this house is all you want to get a nice weekend with friends for outddor activities. We went to Burke mountain for biking (10 mins of car). The house is perfect for a group of 8 adults. You have outdoor shower for clean up after mountain biking, a garage to put your bikes during the night and also many bedrooms.

Perfection!
To say that we had a great anniversary weekend away is like saying Tom Brady is a decent quarterback! There is nothing I don't love about this property! The charm of the interior brought us back to a time when life was more simple. Leaving behind the Internet and cable and playing a game while the woodstove crackled, was a great finish to our busy days. The surrounding land is nothing short of breathtaking! We walked for miles and never left the property! We even saw a moose on our last morning! I highly recommend playing nine holes at Granddad's right down the road, and going into Burke for dinner. David could not have been more accommodating and easy to work with! We will be back again and again!

The Perfect Getaway
I recently returned from a spectacular and memorable trip here with my husband and two boys, ages 10 and 13. We have been to VT many times, but this was our first visit to the Northeast Kingdom and, by far, our favorite. The property is every bit as stunning as it appears in the pictures, and as for the magic the pictures cannot capture... you will just have to experience that for yourself (I recommend sitting in the hot tub at night listening for coyotes). The house is remote enough to give the feeling of magnificent open space and privacy, yet close enough to East Burke so that all the action (mountain bike trails, hiking, bars, restaurants) is just a short drive away. The owner could not have been more accommodating or flexible. A truly special place, which makes leaving difficult but thoughts of returning will ease the pain.

Quintessential Vermont retreat!
I spent a week in this beautiful old farmhouse in Vermont - the Northeast Kingdom. It may be my new favorite place on earth. I highly recommend it - the 90 acre property which sleeps 8-10 very comfortably (could fit more) has a sauna, wood burning hot tub, fire pit and an outdoor shower. The beds are very comfortable and the house and all its rooms are worthy of a magazine. I would be happy to spend all my time there, relaxing and watching fireflies, but there is also so much to do around the area. My lifelong friend and I had a reunion here and we ate great food, kayaked, went mountain biking on single track trails (the mountain bike trails are rated #1 in North America!), we went horseback riding and we toured Cabot Dairy and Bragg's Sugarhouse, as well as taking tea at Perennial Pleasures tea and garden. The views are unbeatable and this less touristy area is perfectly picturesque while still full of activities. I'm already planning my next visit.
