We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It is a great location and extremely quiet area near our grandchildren's school. Being disabled to a lung disease, it was perfect being a one level and great open living area. Fenced yard for our 1 dog as well. Strongly recommend.
Great location and great hosts. Home was perfect for our family visiting while my husband was working locally. Philipsburg is a lovely town. Great fishing, hikes, etc. Host reached out before check in to ensure all was ok. Would definitely stay again when I’m in the area.
Super convenient location, stocked with everything we could possibly need, so comfy and inviting, amazing hosts! We will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much!
Property was centrally located to the rivers and lakes we were fishing. Close to town when we wanted to resupply. House had everything we needed including a mud room for our wet fishing gear.
Great little house to stay and visit family and friends. Amazing back yard for kids and pets. Stocked with everything you need. Owners are the accessible and very accommodating. Highly recommend
This cottage was the perfect size and location. There were plenty of amenities and the backyard was delightful. The host was wonderful and supplied us with lots of helpful information. The home is the perfect mix of everything you need in a vacation rental.
The house is really nice, it had a amazing view and it was cozy. It was clean when we arrive. Thank you so much. We plan to go back and use the cottage again at a later date
We loved this house. Historic but plenty up to date with everything you need. Our golden retriever especially appreciated the fenced yard. Awesome fishing in Rock Creek about 15 minutes away.
Our family had a great time at the cabin. The kitchen has all the amenities (and more), and we appreciated the comfortable beds and living room. The yard is very spacious, and would be nice in the summer. The cabin was clean, and the owner very easy to communicate with! We look forward to returning soon.
My wife and I stayed the Douglas Creek Cottage for a week last month and couldn't have been happier. The owner was great to deal with and the property was ideal, even though we couldn't bring our dog with us! Walking distance to downtown, great yard, clean, tastefully decorated and even a well stocked pantry! We couldn't have asked for more! When we return to Philipsburg we'll be staying here again for sure!
This house was perfect for what we needed, the rooms and kitchen were in great shape and had most anything you would need to cook and entertain with. Location is ok but the route is hard to find at first.
This place is an unexpected gem in Philipsburg.
Comfy beds and very clean upon check-in. Rob, the owner, checked on us to be sure we had everything thing we needed. 2 minute drive to the store and shops in town. We loved the view from the house and even had a couple up close visits from the local deer. Highly recommend this cute house! Thanks for everything! We may be back later this year!
This was our 3rd time staying here during ski season. While it's an older house with creaks and character, it's furnished perfectly with comfy leather sofa, big dining table, cozy linens and towels and everything you'll need in the kitchen. And even though it's older, it's super clean. The open floor plan from the living room through the dining to the kitchen makes visiting with friends easy, no matter what room you are in. Sound does travel easily, so make sure you're staying with people you like! Great fenced in yard to let our dog (which was welcome!) out in. Checking in and out was a piece of cake and owner is great to work with. Will definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay, and would stay there again with no hesitation. It was cozy and as advertised.
Three adults and three children spent a great weekend at the Douglas Creek Cottage. It was easy to find and get to, a short walk to Pburg's main drag, and fit our needs well. It was warm on winter nights, and well stocked, especially the linens. The decor had some cool old cowboy things and classic mountain touches. The only reason it is a 4 and not 5 star accommodation is that a the hardwood floor is a bit splintery and a few furnishings are in need of repair. These things would certainly not prevent me from staying there again, just a touch below a 5 star level, of which there a few around. I'd go 4.5 if I could.
I've best staying in guest houses annually for 40 years. This cottage is one of the best in all that time.
Mostly, I've been with friends on fishing trips, but also vacations with family.
Douglas Cottage honestly had a well supplied kitchen, it's unlike many that said they did only to find a sad collection of yard sale worn out mismatched pans, a couple dull knives and a coffee pot.
The cottage has 3 GOOD beds in 3 nice bedrooms. A nice bath with shower, good water pressure. And an amazing supply of hot water.
The location is quiet, close to the interesting town of historic Phillipsburg.
For us, it was an excellent base for fishing upper Rock Creek and Flint Creek.

About the host
Hosted by Rob and Diane Chandler
We first visited Philipsburg over 21 years ago and knew then that we had to share the experience with others. We now live in Seattle but having both grown up in small towns we fell in love with the charm and friendliness of Philipsburg. We are always amazed by the community of people, their love for their town and their hospitality. We love what the Flint Creek Valley offers from Sapphire Mining to enjoying a craft beer at the Philipsburg Brewery. Taking a short drive out to Rock Creek for a day of World Class fly fishing is one of our favorite activities.
Why they chose this property
Whether we head to the Discovery Ski Area in the winter or spend hours fishing Rock Creek, Georgetown lake or small streams, boating, swimming and exploring in the summer we love it all, including the candy store! There is so much to see and do in the area within walking distance. P-Burg is a great home base for farther travel as well. We are just three hours to Yellowstone to the south and two and a half hours north to Glacier Park with lots of Ghost Towns in between.
What makes this property unique
Our home sits on a fenced corner lot and is walking distance to downtown shops. Enjoy the back patio for breakfast lunch and dinner. A great setting to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening dinner. You can hear Douglas Creek in the distance as it trickles by the Cottage. The house has an open floor plan and great for family gatherings.
