We had a wonderful stay, everything was great and clean, it’s a beautiful home for a family vacation.Views are spectacular and house is well furnished and great for a family.
This property is absolutely amazing in every way! The house is fully stocked and so comfortable. There are stunning views in every direction! The outdoor space and indoor space are great for a group, we had 3 families in our party. The property managers are incredibly helpful!! They helped us secure many fun activities during our stay making our trip to Bailey Island even more memorable. We can’t recommend enough!
Communication with the host was great and check in was easy. The views from the house are stunning and I think this is what makes the house so special. Everything was clean and we had plenty of towels and kitchen essentials. Note that there is not an ice machine in the freezer, but there were a couple of ice trays to fill up, or you could bring a bag of ice if you need it. There is a general store just down the street. The beds were comfortable and inviting. We did not use the heat, but the air conditioners worked well for the weather we had. The decor is charming and cozy and we felt right at home.
The house was amazing as was the setting. We are a family of 6 (all grown kids) and everyone had plenty of room to relax and unwind and be together inside and out! Dave, our property manager was incredibly responsive and lovely. We had such a wonderful time!
Absolutely loved this quintessential Maine home. Perfect for spending time with family and relaxing. The view is breathtaking with wonderful breezes and subtle buoy chimes in the background. Host was responsive to our inquiry.
I was so impressed with the care taken in the property. It really is a special place. We had six adults and three kids so were left with plenty of space to hang out. The kitchen was really well equipped (less a dishwasher, but we adjusted to that pretty quickly). We had a lot of rain but the common space was large and comfortable and a perfect place to watch a storm roll through.
We sat and watched a major winter storm outside the window. Very exciting from within a cozy house. We enjoyed staying in a house where you could feel somebody's presence, rather than the "accessorized" vacation homes with welcoming signs from the Dollar store etc. Only thing lacking--place needs a new key box because the existing one is hard enough to use that it feels like it won't work. Gorgeous place!

Hello,
Sorry for the delay in follow up, but we did replace the key box right away. Thank you for letting us know there was an issue. The salt air on the island certainly accelerates the life expectancy of outdoor objects such as these.
Delayed by one year 50th wedding anniversary celebration for Peg & me.Children (& spouses), g-children and my wife’s sister all able to join us this year.Oceanside house was beautifully situated for consistent great views (including a whale one morning!) and a comfortable sense of privacy. Very eclectic furnishings that fit well together! All in all, definitely, an A stay!Mike Coyne
If you’re seeking an authentic Maine getaway in a stylish yet wonderfully comfortable oceanfront home, this is the place. Thoughtfully curated with handpicked treasures collected by the owner, the house is rich with charm, history, and a deep appreciation for the character and warmth that make a home truly special.Perfectly situated on Bailey Island, the property is just over 30 minutes from the vibrant town of Brunswick, as well as the quaint coastal communities of Bath and Freeport. The primary bedroom offers breathtaking ocean views and some of the most comfortable bedding we’ve experienced in all our VRBO travels. This is, at its heart, a true Maine home — not polished or overly refined, but rustic, welcoming, and full of genuine coastal charm. It even appears in two home design coffee table books about coastal decor and architecture. (They are there for the reading if you have the time) . We loved every moment we were there.
We had a wonderful stay at Jaquish House. We were nine adults and a toddler. Toddler, mom and dad stayed in the cottage and the rest of us stayed in the main house. The common spaces, including the kitchen, were great for a large group and well equipped. The property location, on a bluff right on the ocean, was really fantastic with stunning views. The check in was very easy and Dave the property manager was always available. One issue we noticed was that there were no smoke detectors in either house, which should be addressed immediately. But overall we loved our visit to Jaquish House.
Great house, great view, great communication. The house was super comfortable and relaxed for our group of adults, little kids and dog. Kitchen was well equipped but just note there’s no dishwasher. I expected to be able to walk down from the house to a rocky beach but it’s just a large rocky drop off. However we did enjoy the small sandy beach that’s just a 2 minute walk down the road for incredible sunrises and sunsets Would love to return sometime!

So glad you enjoyed your stay here at Jaquish Lane. We hope you will be able to soon return to Bailey Island for relaxation and making more memories.
All was good except the bedroom with the waterbed-like frame. It was uncomfortable. Also not air conditioned. We could have used a dishwasher. The setting was great. Overall, it was a good experience.

I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay in Maine. The "waterbed" frame bedroom has a Tempur-Pedic mattress (all the other rooms have traditional mattresses). I'd never slept on one - but after hearing from people how much they LOVED them, I decided to take a chance and purchase one for that room. I'm sorry to hear you found it uncomfortable. The house does have newly installed air conditioning units both upstairs and down - but there isn't a unit in every single room, but I've made sure there are plenty of fans available. Until just a few years ago, even the THOUGHT of needing air conditioning in Maine was outrageous... I hope to have you back on the island someday.
Beautiful house with all the amenities you could ask for. The kitchen is well stocked to prepare great meals of the local seafood. Location and plentiful beautiful views made this stay awesome. Plenty to do and see. This is a beautiful area of the country. Experienced a Nor'easter during our stay too. We lost power but not to worry, our property contact Dave was there in a moment's notice to fire up the generator. He was a gem in taking care of us and making sure everything was perfect. I hope to return next year!
We loved our visit to this beautiful Maine home. The ocean views were amazing from the great room, deck, and master bedroom and bath. The sunrises were breathtaking. We enjoyed watching the lobster boats checking their traps each day and the boats sailing in Casco Bay. The open living space was great for our family of 5 adults and a dog to spend time together – very spacious and comfortable. There were books, games and puzzles to keep everyone busy. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that we needed – there really was no need to leave, although we did enjoy a couple of delicious meals at local restaurants right on the island. This home is awesome – a wonderful place to relax, spend time together, and just enjoy the spectacular views.
