Stay in our beautiful beach getaway on picturesque Bald Head Island!

The Tree House is located on secluded Middle Island with marsh, beach, & maritime forest views, and close to the BHI Sea Turtle Conservancy.

Our home has gorgeous 4,000 sq. feet of wraparound decks built to accommodate the existing trees, offering sun & shade all day long with lounge chairs, grills, & covered dining area. We hope you enjoy our marsh observation deck off of the back of the property!

The Tree House sleeps 8 people with 3 bedrooms (1 king, 2 queen) & a loft space (queen), and 3 bathrooms. The main level is an open concept living room, dining room, and galley kitchen with stainless steel appliances (please see photos).

Our home has a unique layout! Please make sure it fits your needs before you book, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

The Tree House comes with access to a private entrance to East beach just 100 yards away. We provide two 4 seater golf carts for use during your and 2 kayaks.

For an additional fee, you can purchase a temporary membership at the BHI Country Club. It offers access to the pool, fitness center, golf course, tennis, & dining options. We do not provide access to The Shoals Club.

Bald Head Island is a lovely vacation destination accessed by a short ferry ride from Deep Point Marina in Southport, NC. The Bald Head Island Conservancy hosts organized hikes and nature walks, as well as evening sea turtle excursions. While on the island, visit "Old Baldy" lighthouse & Smith Island Museum, Bald Head Woods Maritime Forest Preserve, and other historical landmarks. Enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking, wake boarding, & other water sports! Delicious food options on the island include Jailhouse Provisions, marina front Jules Salty Grub & Island Pub, Sandpiper Ice Cream & Coffee, & gourmet dining at the Bald Head Island Country Club. PET NOTES: we are dog friendly with a 2 dog limit. There is a nonrefundable $300 pet fee for additional cleaning we do after any stays that include furry friends!

Great Home in the Forest

This home has it all! It has an amazing view overlooking the marsh. It is only a few steps away to its own private beach. It is very secluded. The bedrooms are spread out, so everyone had their own space. The living area was large enough for our whole family.

Beautiful home. Kitchen well stocked. Upon arrival dead roaches in home and fresh dog feces on porch.Views very much obstructed by trees. Limited comfortable outdoor seating. Will not likely rent again but thank owners for allowing us to stay.

30 year celebration

Although the bedrooms and kitchen are a bit small, the decks and property location more than make up for it. The view of the marsh from the front deck is incredibly relaxing. We were married here 30 years ago this October and all of our children and grandchildren joined us. The house worked out great!

Great location

We loved being by the marsh and on middle island. The owners were very kind and helpful. The porches and outdoor spaces on this house are especially lovely!

Golden Girls at Treehouse!

We loved celebrating 2 special birthdays at the beautiful Treehouse. Bald Head Island in May is a friend tradition and we were very happy to stay at this incredible home. Great location on magical BHI. Myrita provided outstanding customer service and communication. We’ll be back! The Golden Girls😎

Amazing stay

The house was so warm, welcoming, and spacious. Very friendly and lightning speed communication from ownership. The home is located on the private part of the island which gives you private beach access. 5 stars all around!

Again, a wonderful stay

This is our second time staying at the Treehouse. The house was updated with so many things, new bikes, couch, and other wonderful things. The new golf cart was great as well. We will be back!!

Treehouse Perfection

This is the second time staying at the Treehouse on Bald Head Island. The location is private and peaceful and the house had everything we needed for the week. Bikes, kayaks, carts, beach gear are always in working order. Love it here and hope to return!

What a great house. Love the layout, especially the decks and balconies. We took in a sea turtle nest excavation and were lucky enough to watch approximately 25 hatchlings begin their lives. Awesome. Love this place.

Middle Island Hideaway in the Tree House

This was our fourth trip to Bald Head Island. We have stayed in a different house each time. The Tree House was absolutely charming. In particular, the deck spaces afforded privacy with beautiful surroundings. The private beech access so close to the house was a real plus. Bald Head is a unique and wonderful place!

Great family getaway in Baldhead, among the trees

We had a wonderful trip. Myrita was so helpful with getting us oriented, and everything in the house was clean, comfortable, and easy to use. We loved zipping around in the golf carts and on the bikes. East Beach is so lovely, and just a short walk from the house. We got memberships at BHI and did a birding tour with the conservancy, and the kids had surfing lessons. We love BH and would definitely stay at the Treehouse again!

Perfect Location

My family and I had an amazing yet relaxing stay at Myrita’s place. The house is gorgeous; the location is perfect, and the beach is simply awesome. The outdoor shower off the master bedroom is excellent! And we had everything we needed for our stay, which is so convenient considering that you have to take a short passenger ferry ride to the island from the mainland. I’d recommend this house for anyone with teens/preteens.

Magic!

Our stay at Treehouse was as magical as the island. The owners were EXTREMELY responsive! Our cart accidentally got a flat and they had us a new cart in no time at all! The house fit 8 of us 4 adults and 4 teens well and the views were spectacular! Location was great, we visited east beach, mikes bites and conservatory within minutes! We can’t wait to come back again next year!!

Another wonderful visit

This was our third time staying at the Treehouse and it is always wonderful. The decks are great, it is always so peaceful on Middle Island and our kids love the nearby dock. We appreciated the recent upgrades, especially to the loft bed. All of the beds are comfortable, the house is always clean, and we always have everything we need for the week in the kitchen. The host was very responsive when we needed help figuring out how to work the TVs. We’ll definitely be staying at the Treehouse again in the future!

Magical!

The Treehouse and Middle Island Plantation is an absolutely magical place! We had a major storm which caused a power surge in the house while we were there. The owners were amazing at getting power, etc. restored as soon as they could. Their response and communication was fantastic. We definitely plan to return to this beautiful home next summer!

Island Treehouse

We had a lovely time at the Treehouse in Middle Island. The house is magical, situated above the trees with stunning marsh views. East and South Beaches are each minutes away and we enjoyed both. The outdoor decks were perfect places to hang out for drinks, dining and card playing. Truly lovely. The kitchen, though small, is absolutely fine for preparing dinner. We had read a review saying it was too small, but we did not find that to be true…and we cooked a lot! Everything in the kitchen is organized and labeled, which was extremely helpful. The rooms were nice and the showers were great. Any concerns we had were immediately addressed by the hosts. We recommend The Treehouse for your Bald Head Island stay!

Loved our stay

I booked this stay for a beachy/outdoorsy girls trip, but most of our plans were washed out by endless rain and wind. Thankfully, we had this really lovely house in which we could spend our time together. The kitchen had everything we needed, the house is spacious, there are tons of games to choose from (perfect for rainy days!). The golf carts were in good condition, and there were plenty of beach towels and chairs for a group. Myrita was great to communicate with, very quick to respond to our questions and so accommodating to our requests. We would definitely stay here again, hopefully with better weather next time so we can enjoy all the decks around the house and the beautiful private beach! :)

Wedding of Bo & Andrea

Our son was married at the chapel on BHI. The Tree House was perfect for our family and plus one guest assisting with our rehearsal dinner. The porches were perfect for our one year old granddaughter. (She enjoyed hugging the trees that are growing through the decks and porches.) The awesome architecture of the home is breathtaking! Being fans of wildlife and nature, we saw deer - 5 out of 7 days, an opossum, a raccoon, 4 snakes, and some giant spiders. I'm sure we would have seen more, if we hadn't been busy on other parts of the island with multiple wedding festivities. The owners were very quick to respond to questions and concerns. We will definitely book another stay at The Tree House!

House fell short of expectations

This was our Third Trip to BHI. While I loved the Middle Island Location, the house was tired for the premium rate we paid. Many things were broken, or parts missing..eg, Dishwasher basket held together with screw driver, Microwave sometimes did not start, Beach chairs rusted thru, no hatch covers on kayak for bouancy. The basement had a lot of clutter left by the owner, even down to clothes left in drawers. We were unable to lock the doors properly (the house was open when we arrived). The grounds were very much a work in progress, construction equipment under tarps piles of bricks and slate piled thruout the yard. The things we liked about the house ; amazing decks, convenient location for private beach access , very quite, marsh views with private floating docks. Our Family has rented homes in many places and this home was not up to The Bald Head Standard.

Middle Island Oasis

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tree House. Ours was a unique situation in that we were there immediately following Hurricane Dorian and we likely pushed the owner's a little to allow us to go as close to our original schedule as possible because of the difficulty of coordinating everyone's vacations if we had had to reschedule. We truly appreciated Fred & Myrlita's willingness to work with us and they went above and beyond expectations to make it all work out and get the house ready for us to arrive. The house is beautiful and the location is perfect. We enjoyed the sunsets over the marsh and loved the extremely short walk to the private beach access. We had the dogs with us and it was so much fun having them enjoy the beach with us. The house doesn't have a traditional layout, but certainly had everything you could hope for and more. The decks are as awesome in person as they are in the photographs. Fred & Myrlita provide beach towels, bath towels, linens, kayaks, boogie boards, bicycles - there is absolutely nothing you need that isn't provided. I would highly recommend the Tree House to anyone and we will definitely return. (I would recommend walking or a bike ride to enjoy the scenery in early morning or at dusk - but be warned to bring bug spray. We never had an issue on the decks at the house, just on our walks.)
