Bayou St John, in Mid-City, was named the 7th Best Neighborhoods in the World by TimeOut Magazine, 2023.

The Red Bayou House is fully renovated to have an inviting, light-filled, and functional layout, while maintaining the New Orleans' character and charm. Luxury hotel-like amenities, fully stocked kitchen, large dining table, wonderful workspace, comfortable designer queen beds, independent and private bedrooms and bathrooms (not shotgun style), and a wonderful private deck.

The house opens up to a large, spacious living, entertaining and dining space. Ten foot ceilings throughout the house creates an open and spacious setting. The living room has two deep and comfortable West Elm couches, perfect for lounging around. The smart tv has basic cable, HBO, Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

Many guests have cooked Thanksgiving means in this fully stocked kitchen. French press, cuisinart coffee maker, coffee pod maker (coffee pods provided), barware, microwave, dishwasher, gas stove and oven, pots and pans, and cooking tools.

The guest bedroom has a queen size bed, luxurious and comfortable mattress, and a large closet. The guest bathroom is located across the hallway. There is a smart tv with Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.

In between the guest and master bedroom is a wonderful workspace for those looking to get some work done while in town. Flanked by two bookshelves, the workspace has a black granite countertop and a very comfortable Herman Miller chair. Next to the workspace is a perfect, cozy reading room/yoga/meditation/napping room, with a custom twin size bed. This room is perfect for kids or babies, with a pack & play and a ComfyBumpy for their safety. This is my favorite little nook in the house.

The master bedroom located at the back of the house is quiet and peaceful. It has a queen size bed, with luxurious and comfortable mattress, and opens to the back deck through French doors. The master has a smart tv with basic cable, HBO, Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. The bedroom gets a lot of light due to the horizontal windows above the French doors, perfect for morning people. The large walk in closet leads into the bathroom, with a wonderful glass enclosed shower.

Guests can relax/enjoy the private and spacious deck with cushioned lounge chairs, dining for six with cushioned seats, or lounge out on the sofa. Grill on the gas grill (propane tanks provided) and enjoy the outdoor space.

Please take care of my home as if it were your own. Please respect the neighbors and keep noise levels to a minimum during late night hours. No smoking inside the house. Smoking is allowed on the front porch and back deck (ashtrays provided). Pets will be considered with additional cleaning fee; only if pets are potty and house trained as well. It’s a residential neighborhood and I want to be mindful of my neighbors, so no barking dogs when left alone.

SUMMER DISCLAIMER: Hurricane season and the summers in New Orleans can be very hot and humid. Like most homes in this city, the AC system will have a hard time keeping the house cool at 65 degrees all day. Cancellations will only be allowed for named Tropical Storms/Hurricanes. Please be mindful of this when deciding to book for the summer here in our lovely city.

This house exceeded expectations. Gorgeous property, the pictures do not do it justice. We walked in and couldn't believe it looked better than the pictures.Very comfortable property. Furniture is so cozy, beds were awesome and the showers are incredible!So many small touches all over the house made this an excellent stay.Host was wonderful. Great communication even when I had several questions before our stay. Good location too. Quiet area but not more than 10 minutes from pretty much everything we wanted to do. There's a Whole Foods quite close if you want to order for a grocery pick up.

The Best Stay!

This was probably one of the best rentals my family and I have ever rented. No cost was spared. The house is equip with everything you can think of board games, dishes/silverware,fresh bedding and towels along with complimentary drinks and coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming home. The house itself is beautiful and creative, but also very comfortable and well outfitted. The location is great. It was our first time staying in this sweet neighborhood, and we loved it. Great bakery (Nolita), restaurants (1000 Figs), and bars (Pal's) within walking distance. This house is amazing. Photos don’t do it justice. It has so much charm and character, it’s big but also cozy, and it’s decorated so beautifully! Ninh was the easiest host I’ve ever worked with. Overly accommodating for our early check in and late checkout, and flawless communication.My only regret is that we didn’t get to spend more time in this amazing house because our friends live down the road and we spent most of our time at their place. A Perfect Christmas on the Bayou!

The place is absolutely stunning and our family felt right at home in this comfy home. This was our 3rd Christmas in Nola and by far our best experience. We enjoyed our stay. The owner was very responsive when we had questions about the home. It was nice to arrive to a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival. It is only an 8 minute drive to the French Quarter and a short walk to City Park. My only issue was the noise from the construction in the mornings directly across the street and water coming into the master bedroom after a bad rainstorm. Overall, a great place to stay!

A Gem in New Orleans

This was our first time to New Orleans. Nina’s house was the perfect addition to our trip. The decor fits the feel of NOLA. Although the weather didn’t cooperate everyday, we were still able to explore the neighbourhood and take short Lyft rides to other attractions. The local Parkway Bakery has great Po Boys and we also visited Pal’s lounge and a nearby Mexican restaurant. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed for our short stay. Ninh was very quick to respond to any questions we had. If we are ever back in New Orleans we would definitely stay here again. Thanks for being a great host!

Walk, bike, run, or kayak on the Bayou to City Park or down to the French Quarter. Centrally located, within 10-15 minutes to anywhere in the City. Bayou living like the locals, but be minutes from all the action. City Park, Esplanade Avenue, Krewe of Endymion Mardi Gras Parade, Parkway Bakery, Wrong Iron, Bayou Wine and Beer Garden, Pals Lounge, Broad Street Movie Theater, Wholefoods, Bayou Boogaloo, Voodoo Music Festival, Jazzfest are all within walking distance to the house.

What makes this property unique

Open, spacious, clean, bright, modern home with all the amenities and luxuries of a hotel stay, but feel at home and live like a local. Get your morning coffee and pastries from Mayhew Bakery, around the corner, and enjoy it from the on the front porch, back patio, or on the Bayou. Quiet but vibrant/colorful neighborhood. Close to it all (within minutes) but far enough away from the craziness that can be Bourbon Street, that you still get the full local experience. As a 5 star host, I want my guests to love the house as much as I do and readily/easily available for suggestions and recommendations while in town and make your stay most enjoyable.
