I loved the feel that the accommodation was a real home and had bene designed with great care and attention to detail. I loved the lay out and the ability to see the wood and green form all locations. Location is great and contact with nature also great. To fully meet the standards of a luxury price (price is in that range), I would expect internet connection to exist / be much better. For connection addicted people like my family member this feature would prevent a long stay. It could be easily fixed. I personally enjoyed the cooking in the fully equipped kitchen and we all loved the large fireplace. I am sure the place is lush in Summer too. I would return for an adults only holiday. My teenager kids might be convinced only with an internet and television signal upgrade. The hosts were super hospitable without being intrusive. WE loved having a good chat with them!

Thanks for the lovely words and yes we enjoyed chatting with you. We are in a poor reception area for mobiles with only Testra 3g reception - what we have has been boosted, and we are on Sky Muster with a limited service which has been boosted so that there is at least reception for emails etc. Whilst these are limited, to the greater majority of our Guests this is appealing - a break from techknowledge - but I do understand teenagers - once again thank you for visiting our part of the world.

Escape everything in this beautiful valley getaway
If you're looking for a quiet house surrounded by mountains, rivers, swimming holes and no reception then this is the place. With three bathrooms, lots of beds and two living spaces, this place is great for two or three families or a bunch of friends to stay together. There are a few other houses nestled around you and the managers live in a house up the back. But its still private and they are very accommodating.

About the host
Hosted by Phillippa augl
Sepp is an Austrian who came to Australia for adventure in the Northern Territories, crocodile, buffalo hunting in the 60’s, he was the first licensed plumber for the Northern Territory. We met in North Sydney where I Phillippa a kiwi was working at the time with one thing and another and enough of city life, and a common love of the bush we went exploring.
Why they chose this property
We have been welcoming Guests to our property for more than 30years. The property has grown into a much loved place of advance trees and plants to wander around and enjoy sharing it with our birds and wild life. At night you also have beautiful stars to enjoy with a little spot lighting.
What makes this property unique
It has been built with Sepp's background as a builder and plumber, rustic mountain chalet. It has a convict brick surround open fire place - timbers recycled from darling harbour and timber sourced of the property. The water is sweet to drink and the air fresh and refreshing, at night the stars are amazing. It gets very dark and helps give the benefits of a good nights sleep. In November see the fireflies ,turtles, bass, water dragons in the Lake. While there are three buildings on the property you still have your own privacy, your own back yard that looks on to amazing rainforest. The Barrington Tops parklands is a stunning collection of national parks, state conservation areas and state forests. Together they total 125,000 hectares of wilderness. That’s 1,250 square kilometres to lose yourself in, so take care when venturing into this beautiful region, it has swallowed many planes and people without a trace. And it has also hidden bushrangers and fugitives for years.
