Amazing Blasket Island and Coumeenole Beach Views. Luxury House Slea Head Drive
Newly refurbished 2,500 sq ft, 5 bed house (sleeps 10) located on the Wild Atlantic Way. The house overlooks Dingle Bay, the Blasket islands and Coumeenole beach. It is the westernmost spot in Europe. The surrounding views are absolutely stunning. In May 2016, it became a filming location for the new Star Wars movie, due to the spectacular cliffs at Dunmore head, which can clearly be seen from the house.
The Ring of Kerry, Killarney, Tralee, Kenmare are all within easy reach of here. It can also be used as a base for the cliffs of Moher and Cork.
It's a newly renovated house with some of the best views in Ireland, and arguably the best view on the whole Peninsula. You will not be disappointed. The house is finished to a high standard and has a large patio with outdoor furniture...perfect for watching the sunset over the Blasket Islands and the beach down below.
Watch the sea birds dive in the bay. Take a ferry to the Island....Or just sit by the fire and watch the waves crash on the cliffs below.
Perfect for long walks along the cliffs or a short stroll on the beach. Great for surfing, walking holidays, beach holidays and family get-togethers. Enjoy boat trips to The Blasket Islands, a trip to see funghi, he famous Dingle dolphin ,sea kayaking in Dingle Harbour or a sheepdog demonstration.
The entire house is yours.
Large utility room can be used to store your bikes. The house sits on a site above coumeenole bay and is a short stroll from Slea Head.
The Blasket Islands are perfectly framed by large picture windows to the front of the house.
The house is on the Wild Atlantic Way - it's a 10 minute drive to Ballyferriter and a 20 minute drive to Dingle - voted Ireland's Top Foodie Town (2014). Why not visit one of the other Villages, such as Ballydavid, Ventry or Castlegregory. All are within easy reach.
Killarney is 1hr 20min away, Kenmare is 2Hrs.
The local links course is 10 minutes from the house (Ceann Sibeal).
There are c. 2000 archaeological sites on the peninsula.
It's as far west as you can go.... Car is essential. Bike great for exploring local area. Local taxi service also available which can cater for large groups. We can also help you arrange private group tours with pick up from the airport, or from the house.

Our extended family enjoyed our 3 day stay at this beautiful place. We were looking for a more laid back experience after several busy days sightseeing, and this location was perfect! Beautiful views, interesting weather changes and baby sheep all around. Our group of 7 was very comfortable and had a n enjoyable stay. I hope to return for a longer cisit in the future!
The property was even better than advertised, Lisa was so very helpful with all of our questions, when time allows us to return to Ireland we hope to be able to stay theee again. THANK YOU!!
The views were stunning. This is a beautiful location. The house is as described and the host was extremely responsive and helpful when we had questions.
This was such a spectacular location and the house was lovely. Close enough to Dingle for restaurants and food shopping as well. We loved having this spot for our home base. Thanks!
The house was very very comfortable & clean and had a fabulous location and incredible views. Lisa was great to work with as well.
Highly recommend this home.
We stayed at this fabulous home for 3 nights and we didn’t want to leave. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the house itself felt home. I would definitely recommend staying at this house to anyone I know
Lisa and Tom have an incredible place with a spectacular view. On the trip the Dingle Peninsula was the highlight and a much needed break in our travels. We would definitely come back to stay for longer than this trip. The beach, hiking and beautiful towns will stay with us.

Great rental with stunning views plus a well furnished private home.
We stayed for a week in this home and enjoyed every minute. Other reviews all mention the great view and that is true for ocean as well as hillside. The house is beautifully equipped; every part is high end including bedding, beds, windows, and appliances. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and this ranks at the top.

Thank you for your review Jim. We hope you had a safe trip back. All the best, Lisa & Tomás
Lisa and Tomas were extremely communicative and responsive to our questions. The bathrooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the Nespresso machine - just be sure to pick up pods. The location is perfect for views and enjoying the gorgeous Dingle Peninsula, but you do need a car or driver. Billy Kavanagh drove us around for three days and was fantastic!

Beautiful House and Location
We had a wonderful stay in early May, 2016. The house is spacious, bright, well furnished and equipped, and very comfortable. No words can describe how beautiful the location is. We didn't want to do anything but look at the views, but found plenty to do in the area anyways. The house is right on Slea Head Drive, and Dingle, Ventry, the Blasket Islands and other towns and places to visit are nearby. Everyone we met was very kind, and Lisa and Tomas quickly answered the few questions we had about the house.

Hi Kirsten,
Thank you for the lovely review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your trip and the house. All the best, Lisa.
The house was lovely. Very nice having a washer and dryer as we booked this spot mid way through an 11 day Irish adventure. House was well equipped for a large family. It was a little bit difficult to find in the dark, but the GPS worked as it should, and even after driving through pitch black with dense fog, we managed to find the house late at night on arrival. The particularly spectacular part about this house is the view! While we loved all of our adventures in Ireland, our visit to the Dingle Peninsula was the absolute favorite for all members of our family. The beaches, the cliffs, the gorgeous scenery… it’s just magical!
Our family loved our stay in this beautiful home. We were a family of five and had plenty of room. The kitchen was well appointed. The host said there was a Nespresso machine so we bought capsules but there was also a regular coffee maker and French press so we got regular coffee the next day. Being from the states I like a pot of coffee in the morning.
The view of Dunmore Head and Great Blasket Island was out of this world. Sunsets were glorious.
The Blasket Island Museum nearby was very enjoyable. Kruger’s Bar down the road was worth a visit or three.
I highly recommend this home. Dingle is a 20 minute drive and is so much fun.
If you want a peaceful stay with incredible views book this property.
Lisa, we can’t thank you enough for the memories we made while staying at your spectacular home! You are an incredible host, were quick to respond and an absolute pleasure to work with. We were here for two weeks 4/28/25-5/12/25! The weather was clear blue skies every single day with unbelievable sunsets every single night! The location was perfect for us, private, yet close enough to Dingle with just a 25 minute gorgeous drive! The short cut to Dingle was equally as beautiful of a drive! Plus it’s a straight shot to Paidi O’Se’s! The home is spotless, has a very well equipped kitchen and pantry filled with spices which we very much appreciated. We cooked many meals here because we just wanted to enjoy the best seat in the house on the Dingle Peninsula and with the most spectacular views. Sitting outside on the patio after a day of hiking and exploring the peninsula, sipping on drinks and just listening to the lambs and sheep, with occasional escapees walking by, watching the seagulls soaring above and even caught dolphins feeding with our binoculars was so peaceful. It’s what memories are made of! We have already booked a return visit for next year!
Amazing house on the most beautiful part of Dingle!
This was my 4th trip to Ireland and this property was hands down my favorite place of any visit. The views from the house are magnificent, Slea Head drive is breathtaking. We were a group of 9 (6 adults and 3 teenage boys) and the house had more than enough space for everyone. It’s well stocked and laid out beautifully. Check in and check out was very easy, the hosts are lovely and communicative. It is most helpful to have a car if you’re there, but you can get taxis from town if you don’t want to drive at night, etc. Just have cash on hand because there’s no cell reception outside the house, and therefore no way to make mobile payments. WiFi works great inside the house. There is an amazing cafe right across the street from the house that’s open from 11-5. There are several great walks easily accessible from the driveway as well, including the “Star Wars” walk. Begley Tours is wonderful for local tours of the area (Ryan was the best guide!) and Coastline tours was amazing for an all day jaunt from the house to the Cliffs of Moher, Burren, etc. (Sean was a fantastic guide). We had such an amazing experience in Dingle, I would recommend this property to everyone!.
Our family of 3 absolutely enjoyed our stay. The house was perfectly appointed with very comfortable beds and a separate room with washer and dryer and an extra refrigerator if needed. Plenty of room for a large family/group. Scenery was beautiful from every window. We loved the location (private/quiet) with no distractions. Cell service in the area is spotty but wifi at the house works perfectly. We enjoyed the area including drinks at Kruger's Pub just a short drive from the house (they serve food but we were not aware and drove into town unfortunately). We enjoyed the Coumeenoole Beach and "Hold a baby lamb" which are both very nearby. Wish we could have stayed much longer.
I must say as nice as the house was, the hosts were even more impressive. Lisa shared a full list of ideas for us to maximize our drives to/from the house. We were anble to enjoy a night in Kinsale then drive trhough beautiful countryside on our way there, then took a route to Kilkee Cliffs and and beautiful scenery for our drive to Galway. Those were not in our initial plans but are some of our best memories of our trip, so Thank You Lisa and Tomas for sharing such great information above and beyond.
You will enjoy staying at this house in Coumeenoole...my best advise is to stay as many days as you can so you can have time to enjoy the area AND have time to relax and enjoy the house as well. The views alone will make you want to stay longer, but lots to see and do nearby.
Wonderful house. Amazing view. Lovely setting. Would definitely come back again. Lisa was very responsive as we arrived and the house had everything we needed for a great stay!
We had a wonderful time here, the home was spacious and comfortable. Lisa was quick to respond to any questions we had and was very helpful. We would love to stay here again sometime in the spring or summer.
We had a great time. The views were great, Dingle was more than expected. The house was very comfortable.

Stunning Site on Slea Head Drive
This is a lovely property located, literally, in the middle of one of the most scenic areas of Ireland - Slea Head Drive. A comfortable house with all the amenities normally expected, the breathtaking views of Great Blasket Island, Dunmore Head, and Coumeenoole Beach are what make this an exceptional rental. The O’Sheas were very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay in walking us through all the ins and outs of the house. This was an excellent base for exploring the Dingle peninsula as well as Dingle town.
The half hour drive from Dingle to the house can be challenging at first, especially for Americans like us, so take seriously the recommendation to get several days of groceries, drinks, and firewood before going out to the house. Garvey’s SuperValu in town was a fine place for one stop shopping, with lots of fresh and prepared food offerings as well as an adequate wine, beer and liquor selection.

About the host
Hosted by Lisa O'Shea
Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm from Killarney and married to Tomás, from Dingle. We love to travel afar, but equally love to tour around the Peninsula and take long mountain or beach walks nearby. We love to dine in one of the many fantastic restaurants in Dingle and Killarney, so we'd be happy to recommend a good Restaurant to you.
Why they chose this property
We bought this house from a relative as it is built on the old family farm, going back many generations. It is set on the last remaining bit of land in the family.
What makes this property unique
The view will blow you away! Looking out the window from the large Kitchen/Diner, sitting room and front bedroom, you will take in the most amazing view of the Blasket Islands, Slea head and Coumeenole beach. There is a spectacular view from every window in the house. Whether you are looking at the sea, the beach, Mount Eagle or simply the rural landscape. You have the most iconic Dingle Peninsula scenery right there in front of you!
