Our rustic getaway is a wonderfully located family retreat with abundant wildlife around (moose, fox, bear, elk, deer). The cabin is a couple minute walk from Columbine Lake and a five minute drive to historic Grand Lake village or Rocky Mountain National Park. Visiting Estes Park is a nice day trip via a scenic drive through rocky mountain national park on trail ridge road.
Grand Lake and the surrounding area has plenty to do in all seasons. Choose from golfing, boating, hiking, wildlife viewing, four-wheeling, shopping or just relaxing on the deck or by the campfire. In the winter, snowmobiling is unbelievable (with forest trail access directly from our cabin) and skiing is nearby (cross-country skiing at the Grand Lake Nordic Center just outside our neighborhood, Granby Ranch about 20 minutes away or winter park about 40 minutes away.)
The cabin is rustic and sleep space has been maximized. Pictures are representative of the cabin. The main level has a bedroom with a queen bed, comfortable chair and desk. The loft has two single beds, a double bed and a huge bean bag. The staircase to the loft is spiral and may require adult supervision for small children. The bottom level has two bedrooms, one with bunk beds, the other with a queen bed. The bottom floor bedrooms have wood doors for privacy but they don't lock (for safety safety purposes as there are no window egresses in those rooms). There is a full bath on the main level and a half bath on the bottom level.
**Please note that the cabin is located in Columbine Lake, a private covenant-controlled community. Renters are not allowed to use the clubhouse, gazebo, horse pasture, OHVs or Columbine Lake for any purposes. Not to worry, boating and fishing opportunities are abundant in the Grand Lake area. Don't hesitate to ask if you need suggestions. Also, due to weather or other risks, the HOA or county may issue fire bans that limit the use of the firepit.**
