Inspired by traditional Mongolian herders" tents, this beautifully crafted wooden cottage combines rustic charm with comfort, topped with a corrugated iron roof that creates a soothing, atmospheric sound when the rain falls.

The true highlight of The Yurt is its spacious veranda. Start your morning here with a coffee and the newspaper as the ocean sparkles below, bask in the warm sunshine throughout the day, and unwind in the evening with a sunset dinner accompanied by the gentle rhythm of the waves.

A wonderful view and delightful place to stay

The Yurt is simply delightful. It is clean, charming and rustic, with stunning views over Killcare beach and surrounds. It would have been nice to have a smart tv with access to streaming services, but the lack of this encouraged us to have great conversation and chilled-out evenings. We will be back! Thank you.

Stunning Location

This is a great location overlooking the beach, stunning ocean views. Short walk to shops, cafes and couple of restaurants. The property is a bit dated and needs a refresh. If it was not for the location, it would have been a pretty ordinary stay. Place needs more cleaning, bathroom is very small and can get wet floor very easily, not very practical. You are really there for location and if that is what you want then it is a perfect place, reasonably priced for that part of the stay.

Lovely location! We booked the property based on reviews about the deck. Unfortunately we were not able to use the deck during the day as there was no shade. The shade umbrella as listed in the property description was missing.

85th Birthday Present

A memorable stay for all the right reasons. My elderly parents were delighted with the view and overall experience. Their mobility is restricted but with a little help they negotiated the rather tricky steps and decent to the property. The living area was perfect for entertaining our small family and we obviously gravitated to the spacious balcony to gaze at the beach and headlands. The kitchen, living areas and bedrooms contained everything we needed. The small bathroom had great shower. It's not modern or luxurious but very comfortable and cosy. It was great to drive down to the beach below and spend afternoons swimming and strolling. It was also a very short drive to Killcare shops for fabulous food, coffee and delicatessen supplies. Best of all it was dog friendly and our caboodle loves relaxing on the balcony with us. It was a great short stay!!

Great place that needs some TLC!

We loved the Yurt. The house is so cool and the concept is great. It is environmental friendly, simple and with a stunning view. We love that is pet friendly too. The outside furniture is great but the deck needs maintenance. I would love to come back but I am not sure we will. After spending 5 nights there our backs are in really bad shape. The mattresses are just horrible and soft. The bathroom needs an upgrade too and some attention to detail would be great such as having handsoap in the bathroom or all the bulbs working (I had to change one in the corridor and one in the bedroom ia not working). The place needs a deep cleaning too. The couch especially. It is also not friendly to kids or elderly due to the difficult access to the property. I Lastly, it was tough not to have wi-fi. It is a pity. Such a cool property with so much potential.

Love the yurt!

This is my second stay at the Yurt! It's a great, character property, with retro fittings, a cosy atmosphere and a spectacular view. Here are some things to be aware of: You'll need a vehicle as it's a bit of a walk to the beach, and a very steep, winding hill back up from the village. The property is quite hard to find in the dark - it's set back from the other houses, down some steps through the bushes. A torch would be handy! The bathroom is quite tiny and there are limited mirrors - we stayed here before a wedding and had three girls trying to get hair, makeup done which was a bit of a squeeze. A bath mat would be handy as the floor gets very wet. There's no separate toilet. It's got all you need to cook basic meals. The beds are very comfy, there's a TV and a playstation, a small sofa and a heater. Would definitely come back again!

Relaxing weekend

The Yurt was great! We stayed just the two of us but this is a great property for up to 5 ppl. the accomodation had a fully stocked kitchen and weber bbq to cook up a storm. The property is easy Walking distance to the beach, shops and has the most beautiful sunny deck overlooking the ocean. Would definitely stay again !
