Get together with family and friends! This large 4,000 sf Hamlin Lake house is 3 levels and sleeps up to 12! 100’ of lake frontage on the North Bayou with 180 degree views of Hamlin Lake with its miles of clean sugary sand beaches and free State Park access from the lake. Walk out of lower level directly to your boat ~ No cliff, no stairs! Large, clean, sandy, shallow play area in the lake with beach toys and a sandbox provided! 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, a peddleboat, and a canoe included. 2 FAMILY ROOMS: EACH has a wood-burning fireplace, sofas, a large screen TV with Cable & Free NETFLIX, and WIFI/high-speed Internet access. Main level has a 24’ vaulted ceiling in family room/dining area, open floor plan to kitchen. Lower level family room opens to an entertainment area with a pool table, 2 dining/game/work tables, a wet bar, a side-by-side refrigerator with a water and ice dispenser, plenty of games, puzzles, and books.
Available year-round. Home is well-appointed and immaculately clean.
FUN THINGS TO DO:
~ Boating! Few boats are on the lake even on the weekends, which makes for great water skiing, tubing, kneeboarding, swimming, and visits to the beach. Boat launch nearby.
~ Lake Michigan! Boat launch for Lake Michigan is available in town.
~ Fishing! Hamlin Lake is known for great fishing. Catch perch, bass, sunfish, and more right off the dock or on the lake. Ice fishing is popular in the winter. Salmon and many other fish are in Lake Michigan and the Pere Marquette River. A fishing license is required and is available down the block at the marina or in town.
~ Snowmobiling! Hundreds of miles of public trails.
~ Cross County Skiing!
~ Visit the State Park: Only a ten minute drive. Stop anywhere along the road to enjoy miles of beautiful clean uncrowded beach along Lake Michigan. Sunsets are the most beautiful in the world! Hike on many miles of marked trails. Swim in Lake Michigan and enjoy the beach outside of the large beach house or swim in Hamlin Lake, relax on the beach and enjoy refreshments at the concession stand, rent paddle boats, visit the Nature Center, walk over the top of the roaring dam. The State Park is also easily accessible by boat just across Hamlin Lake.
~ Shop in downtown Ludington (a 10 minute drive) where you will find souvenirs, gift shops, personalized screen-printed clothing, an ice cream shop with carmel apples and fudge made right in the store (fun to watch),
~ Children’s museum in downtown Ludington
~ Bowling
~ Numerous excellent restaurants from fine dining to fast food. House of Flavors has excellent meals, soup, and the world’s best ice cream!
~ See a movie at the theater
~ On US-10: Wal-Mart, Meier, Home Depot, and many more stores and restaurants.
~ Check the Ludington Events Calendar for festivals, arts and crafts fairs, the Mason County Fair, parades, the farmer’s market, New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, etc.
~ Stock up on groceries. Hamlin Grocery and The Y Country Store are only 5 minutes away and have basic necessities, beer, wine, liquor, a fresh fruit and vegetable market, and Ludington sweatshirts, jackets, clothing, and other souvenirs. Other large grocery stores are only a 10 minute drive.
~ Visit the beautiful Library right in town. Computers are available.
~ A flea market is held at the Mason County Fairground every Saturday morning.
~ Absolutely don’t miss going to Stearn’s Park on Lake Shore Drive. The beach is huge and amazing! You can walk out to the lighthouse, play on one of the four sand volleyball courts, go to the playground, skate-board park, or play mini-golf, have a picnic at the huge park with grills and picnic tables available. Watch the gorgeous sunset. (This public beach and any of beaches along the road to the state park are the BEST for watching the sunset.) End your busy day at the concession stand with ice cream.
