Start and end the days in Rome in any weather on the large, plant-covered terrace, protected under the pergola on the brick corner bench. You can have breakfast there in the sun, then it partially retreats behind the roof - a blessing in midsummer. Enjoy the peace and the view over Monte Mario and the view of the former monastery, now the pilgrim hotel Kaire. This is the right place to relax after the cultural stress of the day in the 'centro storico'. Highly recommended for visitors staying in Rome for more than a weekend.
In the living / dining room: well equipped kitchen, fold-out bamboo dining table, sofa bed 140x200cm, flat screen TV with Italian and German satellite programs.
In the bedroom: double bed 140x200cm, sliding door wardrobes, sideboard, chest of drawers. Central heating thermostat

Many Venetian mirrors make the apartment appear spacious. Doors and windows are specially secured so that you don't have to carry your valuables through Rome.
The penthouse apartment is located in a typical Roman district 'Monte Mario' behind the Vatican on the highest hill in Rome in fresh air.

You don't need a taxi from the airport because the S-Bahn takes you to Monte Mario via Trastevere for less than € 10 pp. The district is untouristic, the people are warm and the prices are low. There are many shops, the daily 'weekly market' and some good, reasonably priced bars. Everything is within walking distance. The connection to the Vatican and the historical center of Rome is excellent. From the S-Bahn station you can quickly get to the Vatican with 5 stops or a few more stops to the city center to the 'Termini' station. It is more enjoyable if you take one of the four bus lines that go to the city center every 10 minutes. Travel time to the Tiber about 20 minutes. The buses also run at night. The most recommended bus is line 913 - the fastest route to Via del Corso in the center.

Great place to stay

This was an amazing flat to stay at. Nice quite area. 20 minutes from bus or train station. Many grocery stores nearby. Train tickets available close as well. Lots of restaurants and bakeries. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfort in a quiet convenient location

Convenient location in Monte Mario, an upscale neighborhood on the Metro line. Walking distance to shops, but on a quiet dead end street. Nice terrace with lemon blossoms and olive trees. Comfortable vintage apartment, simple but with everything you need for a self sufficient stay.

Good place for Rome

We had a lovely time in the apartment itself, however the neighborhood is quite gross with trash and dog poop overflowing in the sidewalks and roads. The apartment inside was clean and well stocked with kitchen materials, and the host was good at responding in a timely manner which was much appreciated!

Ort zum WohlfĂŒhlen

Wir haben zu dritt mehrere Tage in der Wohnung und vor allem auf der lauschigen Terasse verbracht. Die Nachbarschaft ist sehr angenehm und ruhig. Der Weg in die Altstadt ist relativ weit aber mit Zug und Bus/ Tram gut machbar. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend, die Kommunikation sehr gut. Wenn man nach einem lauten Tag in Rom gerne entspannen möchte, sehr zu empfehlen.

Perfect for Situation

I booked this property last minute. The apartment was clean, had all the amenities I needed, and the terrace was beautiful. Host was incredible. My only qualm is the location. I would recommend getting a rental car/ scooter as the apartment is a bit of a walk to the closest bus stop. (Poor planning on my part, really. The price is very good, so it would still be affordable.) Thank you so much for having me, Karl-Heinz!

Quiet and comfortable

Convenient to Roma Central by bus or taxi. Charming neighborhood with excellent grocery shopping, cafés, butcher, pastry shops and restaurants. Here you have a true 'alla Romana ' experience. We enjoy local food shopping and preparing a few meals at the apartment. We found the kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed. Our favorite time here was spent over coffee or a meal on the lovely patio which overlooks the neighborhood.

Very quiet and nice part of the city

Monte Mario is a beautiful neighborhood of Rome, very quiet and "green", where the real Romans live, with its small grocery stores and pizzerias every street corner. In this part of the city, we noticed that the inhabitants seem to be very relax and friendly. Even if you have to walk a little to reach the nearest train station (20 minutes), the advantage is not to live among the crowd of tourists (that we were!), so it's a choice, and interesting if you spend one week. The apartment has a nice terrace to enjoy meals, which is an asset in comparison with many apartments to rent in the touristic center. Very good contact with our host Karl Heinz and his neighborood who has welcomed us, both have been very helpful. So, we enjoyed our first stay at Rome.

Hier ist der Tourismus fern!

Wenn man etwas sucht fernab vom Tourismus, um zu leben, wie die Italiener, dann ist man hier genau richtig! Es liegt ein wenig ausserhalb, aber die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel sind nicht weit. Alles was sie brauchen befindet sich direkt um sie herum. Mehrere Cafes, SupermÀrkte und auch Restaurants, welche zu Fuss schnell zu erreichen sind. Die Menschen um sie herum sprechen nur italienisch, was perfekt ist, um die Sprache besser kennenzulernen. Sie sind sehr höflich und hilfsbereit. Verkehr gibt es hier kaum, was die Umgebung ruhig macht, perfekt zum Ausspannen nach einem langen Tag im Zentrum von Rom. Das Appartment selbst ist gut eingerichtet mit allem was man braucht. Das Bett ist unheimlich gut zum Schlafen geeignet und die Terrasse ist ein Traum! Gerade bei schönen Wetter ist es toll sich draussen hinzusetzen und seinen Gedanken nachzuhÀngen. Auch bei Dunkelheit ist es wunderschön!

Ruhige, bequeme Wohnung

Wir haben zu dritt zwischen den Jahren 10 Tage in Rom verbracht und wollten fĂŒr diese Zeit nicht in einem engen Hotelzimmer wohnen. FĂŒr unseren Aufenthalt war die Wohnung sehr gut geeignet. Sie war sauber, einfach eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was wir brauchten, um auch Mahlzeiten zuzubereiten (Herd, Wasserkocher, Toaster, Caffettiera) und wir konnten auch zwischendurch unsere WĂ€sche in der Waschmaschine waschen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter verlief freundlich und problemlos ĂŒber Whatsapp bzw. FeWo-Nachrichten, ebenso wie die SchlĂŒsselĂŒbergabe durch einen Nachbarn. Heizen war kein Problem (es gab sogar NĂ€chte unter 0 °C) und das Badezimmer ist modern eingerichtet. Es gibt auch eine tolle Terrasse, die wir wegen der Temperaturen leider nur eingeschrĂ€nkt nutzen konnten, aber in der warmen Jahreszeit ist es bestimmt toll, hier zu frĂŒhstĂŒcken usw. Die Wohnung liegt etwas außerhalb, weshalb man schon eine etwas lĂ€ngere Fahrzeit in Kauf nehmen und zusĂ€tzlich auch etwa 20 Minuten Fußweg vom und zum Bahnhof Monte Mario einplanen muss. Die Wohnung liegt in einer reinen Wohngegend, es gibt aber auf dem Weg zum Bahnhof mehrere kleinere GeschĂ€fte, unter anderem einen tollen Feinkostladen und eine Konditorei und in BahnhofsnĂ€he einen großen Supermarkt, der rund um die Uhr geöffnet ist (an Feiertagen eingeschrĂ€nkt). Alles in allem ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.

ich reise immer wieder gerne dahin

wir waren schon mehrmals in dieser Wohnung. Ideal fĂŒr eine Romreise mit Auto. Parkplatz vor dem Haus, sichere Umgebung auch nachts, kurze Wege zur S-Bahn oder Bus .. wenn man mal gefahren werden möchte. Schnell auf dem Autobahnring zur Fahrt ins Umland oder ans Mare. Die stadtnĂ€chsten kostenfreien ParkplĂ€tze i d NĂ€he Vatican bzw. am Tiber sind in 10 min erreichbar...und von dort lĂ€sst sich Rom prĂ€chtig erkunden
